President of the Kurdistan government: We seek to agree with Baghdad ... and are ready to implement the disability law The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani - Archives December 09, 2020 02:26 PM Mubasher: The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, said today, Wednesday, that the KRG will continue to search for a balanced constitutional solution to budget issues with Baghdad, and will work hard to address these issues and continue its reforms to reduce costs, increase revenues and improve governance. Barzani added, during a press conference held today, that the financial resources of the Kurdistan Regional Government have already been affected by the Corona virus pandemic, internal revenues and oil prices. Barzani explained that the regional government has been working hard for many months to reach a fair constitutional settlement with the federal government. He continued, "The right to peaceful protest is vital, but violence in recent days is unacceptable. It is our common responsibility to maintain the safety and security of everyone, including the demonstrators and public and private property." Barzani stressed that the regional government is practically ready to work with the budget deficit law, despite reservations about its content and the way it is approved, expecting reciprocal steps with Baghdad to reach an agreement and implement it. The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government indicated that the federal government in Baghdad owes the KRG budget payments for the months of May, June, July, and October of 2020.
