Postponing the settlement of the disputed areas file after the elections Political| 02:40 - 22/03/2021 BAGHDAD - Mawazine News The Committee of the regions and governorates not organized in a region in the House of Representatives announced, on Monday, the postponement of resolving the disputed areas file until after the elections. The deputy head of the committee, Mahmoud Al-Kaabi, said, according to the official newspaper, that "the committee had referred to this issue, with the existence of ruling legal articles, such as Article 140 concerning the disputed areas." Al-Kaabi added, "The opinion was to proceed with holding the elections and to postpone the resolution of this file until after this event, for fear of any obstacles facing this process."
