  1. RIP Johnny Almond https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark-Almond
  2. From first album "Five Leaves Left" 1969 Love his music (and lyrics)...Deeply He left us way too early unfortunately https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Drake
  3. Saw him in concert here in Italy circa 1979 in Bologna, my University town....Really good... He'd play alone on stage with just his guitar and pre-recorded bases This song has a very special atmosphere ( for me at least...) RIP John...Thank you https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Martyn Among other things....He was friends with Nick Drake...... Some youtube posters claim song is a message to Nick
  4. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beggars_Opera_(band)
  5. "To Live And Die In LA" - 1985 (directed by William Friedkin, starring W.Petersen, W.Dafoe, J.Pankow, J.Turturro etc) soundtrack
  6. Was lucky enough to see them in concert here in my hometown in the 90's...Great band...Pied piper indeed magical.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jethro_Tull_(band)
  7. P.1 00:00 P.2 25:30 Entire album is highly enjoyable imo.... I like all of it but particularly love the beginning of P.2 @ 25:30 ...To me absolutely extraordinary The music press wrote a lot about it when record was released in 1973 as it was deemed very original and innovative....And different from the rest ( for that time ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tubular_Bells
  8. Saw them in the mid- 80's.....Great concert...Great band https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supertramp
  9. Fmr. King Crimson (Ian McDonald 1st album only if I recall correctly...Giles 1st and 2nd) members and great musicians ( Mike Giles...special drummer) Mike Giles' brother Peter Giles on bass Great album imo...Rec'd 1970 Steve Winwood – organ, and piano solo on "Turnham Green" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonald_and_Giles
  10. From their best (IMVHO) album "Deep Purple In Rock" 1970 ( magical year for music ...Stunning albums were created...) All below songs are performed by the classic / epic somehow DP lineup ... Deep Purple In Rock, Fireball, Machine Head, Who Do We Think We Are, Made In Japan (live) albums Ritchie Blackmore – guitar Jon Lord (RIP) – keyboards, organ Ian Paice – drums, percussion Ian Gillan – lead vocals Roger Glover – bass This lineup ( the second one in the band's history) then crumbled after a few years mainly because there was a bad fight going on for quite some time between (great) vocalist Ian Gillan and Ritchie Blackmore ( acknowledged by many as an excellent guitarist but also crazy like a horse) They had gotten to the point of beating each other in a few occasions mainly due to Blackmore's temper........ Can't recall exactly...But one of those 2 (or both maybe) then left the band https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Purple
  11. From "Yessongs" RIP Chris Squire (bass) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yes_(band) Saw them in October 1977 ( during my 1st US trip) at the Oakland, CA. Coliseum....An undescribable emotion for me back then ( I was 20).....Great 3hr.long concert....Donovan Leitch ("Mellow Yellow" etc) was the opener
  12. RIP Ollie Halsall & Mike Patto
  13. Saw them at London's Crystal Palace in 1974 during a 8-hr long mega-concert featuring many bands (PH, Leo Sayer, Rick Wakeman without YES, Unicorn, others)....... All these tracks are classics Great band indeed https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Procol_Harum
  14. From "Selling England By The Pound" 1973 Great track with special guitar by Steve Hackett and beautiful mellotron by Tony Banks...And Phil Collins' drums Stunning ending imo https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genesis_(band) Album lineup: Peter Gabriel – vocals, flute, oboe, percussion Tony Banks – keyboard, 12-string guitar Steve Hackett – electric guitar, nylon guitar Michael Rutherford – 12-string guitar, bass, electric sitar Phil Collins – drums, assorted percussion, lead vocals on "More Fool Me", backing vocals

  16. From masterpiece concept double album "Quadrophenia" 1973 RIP Keith Moon (drums) & John Entwistle (bass) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Who https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadrophenia
  17. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat_Stevens
  18. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coldplay
  19. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argent_(band)
  20. Saw him in 1977 at the Oakland, CA Coliseum as he was the opener for YES
