Track performed by first DP lineup : Rod Evans – lead vocals Ritchie Blackmore – guitar Jon Lord (RIP) – organ, backing vocals Nick Simper – bass, backing vocals Ian Paice – drums Later Rod Evans would be replaced by Ian Gillan and Nick Simper by Roger Glover and that will be the steady and classic DP lineup for many years and many albums before changing again..... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_Purple

That was also the then Argentine military fascist regime's attempt to divert int'l attention from the massacre of people they were systematically kidnapping, torturing and killing ( about 50,000) including pregnant women whose children then were adopted by military families...Many opposers being dropped from helicopters into the Atlantic ocean....The 2 (bastard) generals in charge of the massacre were Jorge Videla and Leopoldo Galtieri......Plus a bunch of others..... In 1983 the Country returned to Democracy with a freely elected President ( Raul Alfonsin)...At last https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falklands_War Argentina regime https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirty_War https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jorge_Rafael_Videla https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopoldo_Galtieri
  9. Dave Mason ( who wrote song) is the lead vocalist here ( not Steve Winwood, the usual vocalist in the band & leader) To me Mason's voice is sooo similar to Stephen Stills' (at least in this song) ...JMHO... So much so that in the past I used to believe it was Stephen singing...Until I found out During his career Mason has collaborated with many groups / musicians including: Hendrix, Clapton, George Harrison, Fleetwood Mac, Rory Gallagher etc https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Mason https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_(band)

  18. YES bassist Saw him in 1977 with Yes at the Oakland, CA Coliseum..... He used to have a typical, peculiar sound ( thanks also to his Rickenbacker instrument)....Great I recall that inside the Coliseum, up in the air, there was this huge cloud of something which I ( a naive 20 yr old from small town Trento, Italy) had no idea whatsoever it might be and had to ask the guy or girl sitting next to me...He / she smiled a wtf smile back at me and told me...So I ended up being ( without wanting it) totally stoned just like everybody else......
  19. From "Atom Heart Mother" 1970 Beautiful track with great lyrics ( I think it's worth noting / reminding ...) Roger Waters - lead and backing vocals https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atom_Heart_Mother
