Thought her dear son was only 12, rebellion filled his heart. She tried to take him to church but he wouldn't have no part of it. Every since his dad left him he has been in a state of mind the is mean spirited. It made it hard on them and he resented it because they had to struggle just to have something to eat. His mom refused to speak of the man even though he deserved every bit of it. Her son kicked the family dog for no reason, cursed his mom and bullied other kids at school. His mom wasn't no match to physically whip him for his deeds but she prayed night and day for him. One morning she woke to find him gone. He had run away, she quickly got down on her knees and prayed hard for invention. "Protect my son, my wayward son and let him know you care about him. I place my son in your strong hands and tell him I did the best I could and I love him. She woke in the middle of the night to the sound of a racing train about a mile from their house. She had that train every night for ever but this night it's sound was eary. She just knew her son was on that train, a stowaway racing through the fog to God knows where. She calls upon the lord, "I know my son's in trouble, lord, I can feel it in my soul". She was weeping so much, she was scared that he was gonna die. I'm asking you lord to walk ahead of him this night and cover him, I am letting go into your hands. The fog was growing thicker by the minute and straight ahead the engineer knows he is coming up on the old Charles River Bridge, and then a long run ahead. All of a sudden the engineer saw a cross straight ahead in the fog by the trains light. He knew this had to be a omen of some kind of trouble. He pulled the hand brakes and the old train shook and shuttered until it stopped. His night assistant walked the track and then gives out a shout and his words rang out deeply the Charles River Bridge was washed out by the flood. This sign from heaven saved them from sudden death. It was a miracle and they knew where it came from. As the assistant was walking back he looked up at the trains light and saw a huge dragon fly stretched out across it shaping the cross. God used the Dragonfly to stop a heavy train from destruction with a mother's stowaway son on board. That young man learned a great lesson that night and it was forever burned into his soul that it was God that gave him another chance. He went back home straightened up became a good son and when he graduated school became a country preacher. In his church he never forgets that his mother asked for that intervention and the lord came and shielded him from sudden death. Sometimes the choices we make can have grave consequences for us. Life here on this earth is only a spot of time compared to eternity. If we are on God's side it doesn't matter what night or what day our last breath will come. Praise by to our lord and savior Amen
