  1. Scott had a wild dream to sail around the world in his special made sailboat. He carefully had it crafted to hold all the supplies that he would need. He was at the age of 22 just finished college and wanted one last blast of excitement before settling down with a job and marriage and all that. Scott set sail early one morning after all the goodbye's well wishes from his hometown port in California. Sails up, maps stored, navigational equipment working fine, he had smiles all over his face. He had been out on the sea for several days and most of each day was uneventful except for a few Dolphins that would say hello. He thought he had taken into account any bad weather that would arise out of the sea and none had came. He drifted at night while he slept and put the sails up each morning for a day of progress. A fierce storm came up one night when he had been on the water for two weeks. By the time he was awakened he had been blown of course many miles and seemed like right into the heaviest part of the storm. Rain was heavy with lightning and thunder and the waves were like tall buildings trying to swallow him. His excitement was traded quickly for fear that he was going to drown. While he was trying to move his things under cover the sail post hit him in the him knocking him out instantly. When Scott came to he was washed up on an Island somewhere. His maps, his radio and his navigational equipement was washed overboard. There was only a few items left and mainly some cloths, and a knife. He had to face it he was all alone in middle of God knows where. He prayed everyday asking God to send someone to rescue him. He knew he was in a bad situation but everyday he looked out across the ocean for any sign of God sending help and each time there was nothing. After two days he became mad at God while building a little shelter to protect him and what little possession's he had left. He was scared confused and a little mad at himself for being bullheaded wanting this adventure so bad but mad at God because he was supposed to help make things all better. Thoughts were running through his head that he may have to live out the remaining time of his life here without a sole to talk to. He built a fire and walked off to find some kind of food to eat. He hadn't been gone half an hour until he seen smoke and ran back to his campsite just in time to see his little shelter burning with what little possessions he had left. Seems he had built the fire to close to his hut and the wind blew in hard enough to spread the fire. There was nothing he could do but watch. The worse thing was everything was gone. Scott cried out, " why God how could you do this to me, I have nothing. Scott layed down on the sand and cried himself to sleep. After an hour or so he was awakened from the loud blast of a ship's horn. The ship had seen the smoke and knew that someone was in trouble because it was to far into no where for anyone to be. When the rescue boat had arrived he asked the men how they knew he was there and they seen the smoke signals high into the air. Scott was so relieved, so tired and so hungry that he thanked the men and fell on his knees and thank God for not giving up on him even though he said a few words that shouldn't have been said. He realized it was himself and his selfish quest to conquer the ocean he should have been mad at not God. Thought: Its easy to get mad at things when they go wrong, but we shouldn't loose our heart, because God has already seen what we got ourselves into and is working to give us a way out. Through our own ways sometimes we bring grief to ourselves, he just tries to fix it. Remember this in the coming years: For every negative thing that happens to us, God has a positive answer waiting. "For I know the plans I have for you, says the lord, plans of good not for evil, to give you a future and hope.......Jeremiah 29:11 I want to wish all of my DV friends a safe and promising NEW YEAR filled with goodness and joy. May the good lord make his face to shine upon you now and forever more...Amen
