  1. Hey everyone - sorry for the delay, the airport wifis were just not cooperating today! I'm still working on getting it done today, but the weekly may be delayed till tomorrow.
  2. Happy Wednesday my friends! Ready for something different? I hope so, because that's what you're getting! This has certainly shaped up to be an interesting week. I am not - I repeat, I am NOT - the kind of person that tosses around rumors. I am very reluctant to post things that could lead to unnecessary speculation or misled considerations. But... perhaps you noticed the site has been down some of this week, and increasingly hard to reach this morning? It's complicated, but let's start with an explanation of why the site has been having slow page load times and at times has been unreachable. Those of you that have been part of this community for a long time probably remember a few other times that this has happened. I take this community very seriously... the trust that the members (especially the VIPs) have put in me is enormously important to me. As such, DinarVets.com lives on a bulletproof, titanium, state-of-the-art, no expense spared platform, and is mirrored onto a secret duplicate setup that is completely unreachable until such time as it is needed. Extra efforts are taken by experts to keep things secure and running regardless of pretty much anything other than a zombie apocalypse... in which case we won't be worried about dinar, because zombies eat brains and don't care about your bank account. Even so, there is no such thing as "invulnerable", and we've been under attack for about a week now. I actually started noticing some unusual "probes" as early as a couple months ago, which was a little strange to me because it coincided with the recent Parliament shakeup... but nothing major happened, so I just kept an eye on it and doubled my normal security routine. I'm glad I did. As of today, the dinarvets.com server is under HEAVY attack. I won't get into the nerdy details, but I do want you to understand what's happening. It's called a "Denial of Service" attack. What the attackers do is pretty simple - they hijack a network of computers (dozens, hundreds, thousands, or more) and each computer simply reaches out to the website. These attackers are sometimes just bored kids, or sometimes they are slightly more sophisticated groups that have political or some kind of agenda to carry out, and sometimes they are paid to do it by whatever entity has the money and the reason. This is not a "bored kiddy" attack... this is a big one. Here's a short explanation of what is happening: Think about your old rotary phone. If you were on the phone when someone called, they got a "busy" signal. Today, we have "call waiting" - so you'll get a notification that someone is calling. But what if another person calls? They might get sent straight to voicemail, because we don't have "call waiting-waiting-waiting". Now take it one more step... what if 100 people called you at the exact same time? Maybe they will all get sent to voicemail, but at some point the voicemail system is going to get bogged down. And that's exactly what this kind of "attack" does - it bogs down the system, and makes the site unresponsive. We have things in place to prevent hackers from getting your info, so don't worry about that. Anyone who's ever paid for VIP - your information was received by one of the largest and most sophisticated companies in existence, so really all we have to worry about is if we will be able to read the weekly chat now, or maybe we have to wait 5 minutes and reload the page because the Attackers are playing a game of "ding dong ditch". No members of this site are at risk for identity theft due to this attack. Really, it's just an inconvenience to those of us who want to log on and read the latest dinar news. But let's get back to the beginning... and I want to share something. This is big. It might be really big. Who remembers what was happening the last two times DinarVets.com came under heavy attack? I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I try to stay away from those things! But facts are facts, and here's what was happening... I remember them well, because when it rains it pours... We've had 2 major attacks in the past. One was when Chapter 7 was unfolding... and the other was when Abadi was first getting into office and making HUGE changes. And now... NOW we are watching a restructure of Parliament and all kinds of other exciting news... suddenly dinarVets.com is under attack again? I have to wonder, "WHO would want us to be denied access to dinarvets.com at this particular time"? I have my theories, but they really aren't important. The "how" and "why" and "who" doesn't matter. What DOES matter is the "what", and the last couple times we saw this, the "what" was a pretty big deal! WHAT is happening right now is a big deal! I really hope that this attack on DinarVets.com is a sign of something coming. And if history repeats itself, as it sometimes does... we are ready. If you're not in VIP yet, you really should get in. If you are in VIP, but know someone who isn't - get them a gift certificate. Here's the links: 1. If DinarVets.com is up: http://dinarvets.com/links/upgrade 2. If DinarVets.com is under attack, use this link: http://iqd.me/l/order Oh! One more really important thing I want you all to know is this: Regardless of what is going on with the attack on dinarvets.com, our VIP info/emails/notifications and even the regular emails are all completely separate from this particular server/site/system. The awesome thing about this is that IF we are under attack right now because something big is about to pop... they can't keep us down. I'll send out an email shortly, to those of you on the newsletter list, just to prove that point. Like I said... they can't keep us down! And that, my friends, is a good feeling. I'll be in touch soon. VIPs, you should get an email from me tomorrow. GO RVVVVV!!!!!!!!!! Thursday morning update: We have the attack completely under control at this point, but we decided to make a couple upgrades on the site since the hood was open, so to speak. 3. Morning all! I had a couple overlapping appointments this morning, so the weekly update will be a little late. Thanks for your patience
  4. Good morning everyone! It's another wonderful Wednesday and although there is no running to the bank yet... we are still on track and I see no reason to be disappointed in the progress being made. The best news we have right now, which really is good stuff, is in this thread: http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/219515-keywords-abadi-past-the-completion-of-reforms/ Now - that thread starts out talking about "stolen monies" and things that could be taken as negatives, but I'll just squash that right now - they throw these things in the mix for 2 reasons. First, they need to publish articles or they would have to fire a lot of writers. And 2, it's not an unmanageable amount of cash they are talking about. The same kind of money is wasted daily by the US Government and other entities throughout the world, so I really don't even care about it as it relates to an RV. But shortly into that thread, we see a couple of really positive things: Daash (bad guys) control drops from 40% to 14% Abadi declares solid completion of Cabinet.... .... remember where we were a week ago? Waiting for exactly that! So to hear that it's moved very far forward is just a great thing, and I'm hopeful for more good news in the coming days/weeks. When we see articles like the one I mentioned above, I think my answer will be obvious. No... all doom and gloom. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. That's a fair question. I have no concerns about our Dinar, especially those of us that bought from dealers. Those dealers are licensed, the bills they brought into the US were all declared, cleared customs, etc. No concerns there IMO. TG flogged him fairly well. That police chase was hilarious! Yep, it went out on 4th of May. Took a little over 2 hours to go to all VIP and Platinum VIP members. I will be happy to, but please take this question to the VIP section. IMO this is definitely a "WHEN" and "HOW MUCH" question, not an "IF".
  5. Happy Hump Dayyyyyyy! I really hope you caught my update last week... I mentioned that we could be at the cusp of some amazing ACTION from Iraq. We wanted to see it happen before the weekend, but it was relatively quiet last week after that major announcement. One could easily think that once again, Iraq decided to talk, but not act. Yesterday, that idea was thrown out the window. Yesterday, stuff started happening! If you were able to follow along, you know it was an action packed morning. Something we are NOT used to seeing out of Iraq, and it makes me VERY happy to have been witness to this! I'm going to give you the cliffnotes, but first let us give credit where it's due: It may not even be possible to tip my hat far enough to our amazing newshound yota. He gave us the play by play as it was going down. If you have any doubt that things are indeed moving, just check out this thread: That started yesterday at 4:21AM CST and yota's tireless work has produced a MASSIVE 7 pages of articles detailing what is going on with the current shake-up in the GOI... I'll give you a summary: THINGS ARE HAPPENING! Follow along, this was the beginning: Weights to hold the parliament session in another room and the Kurdistan announce his participation session Moussawi: Abadi will present today his booth and the first session will be held even without the protestors Deputy: Liberals will vote for the presidency of the new parliament and government technocrats provided by Abadi Parliamentary source: not confirmed yet Abadi attend a session of parliament today A spokesman for al-Jubouri: today crucial to overcoming differences and Abadi, will attend the meeting Bader decided to attend today's meeting to vote on the cabin technocrats Mishan: ready to vote on the ministerial cabin that Ajhiha Jubouri Urgent Jubouri enters the chamber and to convene the meeting Liberal MPs entering parliament session hall Urgent members of the citizen and the Liberal blocks and Badr and virtue, and the Kurdistan Union of Forces entering the meeting Urgent ..alajabura and his deputies are preparing to begin contract session House sitters reject a proposed re-vote on the dismissal of the presidency of parliament Urgent parliamentary source: finance, culture and immigration ministers did not include recently ministerial change Urgent Jubouri ascend the podium and calls on members of parliament to enter the Hall of Session Initiation Urgent parliamentary source: Abadi waiting for a quorum for parliament to announce the new ministerial cabins completeness Urgent weights to lift the parliamentary session half an hour to hold consultations Urgent Parliament declares a quorum and the start of the meeting in the presence of 179 deputies That was just the start! Jump forward a little (we are only skipping ahead for the sake of summarizing, I sincerely encourage you to peruse the entire thread!) - and we get to some more fun stuff. There was protesting, rioting, and all kinds of disturbance. Yet they perservered: Jubouri MPs: the next stage requires a great effort in order to improve services Urgent Deputy: Abadi agree with the presidency of parliament to vote on cabinet reshuffle partial Deputy of the session: Vice-Maliki wing stirred chaos to prevent the passing of ministerial cabin Urgent Parliament resumes its ministerial change Urgent Abadi prescribed width ministerial cabin Urgent: protesters tried to storm parliament on the one hand gate Legislation Urgent Abadi offers three candidates for each ministry under the new selection Shut down all entrances to the Green Zone Urgent Source: Abadi will provide a change of 10 ministers and three candidates for each position The names of the perpetrators of Representatives of obstructing the cabinet reshuffle This is where things get SERIOUS... in spite of the obstructions, they actually put names out there. THEY ACTUALLY DID SOMETHING! The names given were as follows: The action continued: .. Cilo urgent resumption of parliament to vote on cabinet reshuffle in the presence of Abadi and 181 deputies Urgent parliament voted unanimously on the invalidity of the House of Representatives of the protesters measures at today 's meetingIraqi parliament to vote on naming the new ministers to the Government of Abadi - news renewed (they continued to vote...) Urgently to stop the vote on the candidates for the ministries and the completion of the rest at a hearing next Thursday Urgent .. postpone the vote on the new nominee Foreign Ministry after the Kurdish objections Urgent .. to lift the parliamentary session on Thursday And now we're thinking "SHOOT! Just when things were going so well..." - but not so fast, amigos! Parliament succeeded to exceed its divisions and vote on the five ministers technocrats Parliament will vote approves five ministers and Abadi undertakes to provide the remaining of the cabinet reshuffle during the next two days {expanded} Abadi al-Jubouri asked to arrest the House of Representatives of the protesters And at that point, session was pretty much over, with the hopes that we will see more action today or tomorrow. The following article gives us reason to believe that tomorrow will be another big day: What's this mean to all of us? It means we are on TRACK! We are MOVING, BABY! Finally... the lull is over. We're seeing some positive, EFFECTIVE, action from the GOI. This shake-up may not mean "RV Tomorrow", but then again... it might be close to that. THIS is the kind of action we've been waiting on, and it's happening. I'm stoked! If you're not in VIP right now, this might be a great time to do it. I'm going to give you a little more incentive - tomorrow is the 28th of April, when they say they are "keen to proceed with the reform of the cabinet"... so here's a 28% discount on your VIP upgrade of 5 months or Lifetime Platinum VIP. Get it NOW, because I'm not leaving this up for long: LINK: http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/store/ DISCOUNT CODE: progress28 (If that doesn't work for you, use this link: http://iqd.me/l/order ) See you in VIP! And here's the Q's: TONS of movement. I wouldn't even worry about this hiccup or that sneeze. There is nothing major stopping this from continuing forward at this time. As much as I love talking about US Politics, and I really do have a lot to say on this one... I'm going to decline comment, so this doesn't turn into a US Political conversation thread. There is just too much going on in Iraq right now that I want this thread to stay focused on. Nothing that I will share in public, for the same reason I won't disclose which banks I am personally in contact with regarding the same. First of all, I have contractual obligations to keep my mouth shut about certain things. Banks don't want thousands of phone calls about something that hasn't happened yet, no matter how exciting the news is right now. I know that's not what some want to hear, but I appreciate and respect those of you that understand the reasoning behind it. That's it for now friends! I'll send out an email blast if anything major pops up on the radar. For now I think we are looking at tomorrow for some more news, so cross your fingers for some BIG announcements. And don't miss this chance to get a great discount on a 5 month or better yet, a PLATINUM VIP account! 6. Good morning and happy Wednesday! this one will be very short since I'm posting from an airplane, about to take off and no in-flight internet on this international flight. I'm excited about the current situation. The people are done with the dragging of heels, parliament is making REAL changes, and we've got a very realistic path to the HCL via a rearranged parliament and some much needed renewed purpose in the GOI. VIPs, I have a special update for you. I won't have time to get it uploaded before this plane takes off, but watch for an email later today. Thats is it for now - GO RV!!!!
  7. Morning DinarVets! I know you love it when I do really long updates, where I ramble on and on and on about my life and the things I did to make my ribs better yesterday (omg those things were amazing) and my love of cats (I don't love cats, I do love kittens though...) and all that! But today, I'm going to keep it super simple. SUPER simple. How do you like the new format? I know it's taking some gettin' used to! This post was started a few days ago over a week ago, but I'll be a monkey's uncle if life and work and everything inbetween didn't get the best of it! I generally like to get the weekly updates out early, because there's always a slew of emails to answer afterwards. This week and last, I do not have the luxury of posting early, and as such I'll be grinding into the wee hours to get the tickets and emails handled. Enough about me, though! Here's a few things you need to know about the new site look and operations. And then we'll get to the dinar. This is going to be a short list. If you see specific issues, please post them in the Tech Support section. I've had a couple (ok a lot) of requests to "go back to the old format"... I'm sorry everyone, but I'm not even going to respond to those requests anymore. The update was done for security reasons, and it hasn't been easy for me either but it is necessary, mandatory, and kind of like Obamacare... if you like the old format, you can keep the old format. (Just kidding! No you can't.) The NUMBER ONE problem people are having is logging in... the new login procedure requires you to use your "Display Name" instead of your old "login name". Why the developers of this software ever allowed those two to be different is beyond my knowledge!) For example, if your display name (what other people see) is "Johnny Appleseed" but you logged in with "johnny.appleseed1" or "johnnyappleseed789@gmail.com" to enter the site... you will now need to login with Johnny Appleseed. Your old password should still work! If not, you can request a new password by clicking this link. As always, if you're using hotmail, yahoo, msn, aol, verizon, or basically anything other than gmail - check your spam. A few times. That's where dinarvets emails go if it didn't land in your inbox within 15 minutes. Did I mention this was going to be a short list? 4 is one too many, let's move on! Let's talk about Iraq! Actually, let's talk about "currency" first. And governments. With the site upgrade and everything that is going on as a result, I haven't had a ton of time (next to none really) to keep up with the intricate nuances and details of the "news" we get out of Iraq, so I decided to focus on the questions posted by the members. As you'll see below, there is a similar theme to almost all of them. I'm going to give you my opinion on each, of course! But let's begin with a basic understanding: 1. Governments. They don't care what you think. Pretty simple, right? They don't care about your view of economics, debt, or their obligation to society. This is doubly true for Iraq and much of the middle east, where corruption is the rule and not the exception. Kuwait, Israel, Saudi Arabia, all of them have corruption that makes US politics look like it's run by people that actually care and have a conscience. When it comes to their currency, the only thing that separates them from countries like Jordan or Nigeria... what do you think it is? The sand? The camels? Their fancy headgear? I'll let you ponder that, but I doubt you need much time. 2. Currency. It is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Again, it's simple. Let's discuss exactly how this works and I want to be very clear about one thing... it's not all about natural resources. The Iranian Riyal is the prime example - Iran has the FIFTH largest reserves of the same thing Iraq and Saudi Arabia have, so how can the Iranian Riyal be over 27x weaker than this IQD we're speculating on? Could the answer be that the world trusts Iraq approximately 27x more than Iran? You bet! This comes down to a very simple concept, once you grasp it... if Iraq announces tomorrow that they have completed the HCL, they are 100% committed to securing their country and rising to a prosperous level, and the CBI states they are now paying ten cents US to the Iraqi dinar - banks will be cashing in on that, and the fiat world we live in is going to apply point #1 to your logic about economics and the like. In other words, they will ignore your opinion - and you better be ready to go along with them, because you certainly won't be fighting it. Millionaires and billionaires will be created out of thin air, just like has happened so many times in the past when a currency was manipulated. The means is not entirely important, so when someone says in a snooty voice "No RV is possible because it's never happened before..." HA! I laugh at that. Even if "no RV" has ever happened, which is to say that no currency has ever been dramatically or officially raised on the forex boards or something like that - you can't tell me that no wealth has ever been gained through the manipulation of currency. And that, my friends, is something Iraq is in a very unique position to do right now. That's my for the week, now here's the Q's! It could. But it also could not. Iraq has a different set of choices they can make. Thanks for the compliments on the site! It's a work in progress. No comment on the timeframe... My hope is tomorrow, but I have no control over it. No comment on the date predictions. That's a bit more conspiracy and speculation than I care to do today... I'm going to stick to the fundamentals. Cheers No, the CBI doesn't have to follow any such rules. I could say "yes" to both of those, but let me refer back to Point #1 - the world doesn't care what we think should or shouldn't happen with currencies. If it did, we would not have fiat currencies in the first place. No I do not. I certainly hope Abadi has some zing-bangers in the works! It will be nice to see him start kicking things along again. He may have made a great positive impact so far, but he still has work to do. ============================== I know I didn't get to ALL of the questions, but that's what I've got time for this fine day! You all have a fantastic day and week, I'll be back online as time permits.
  8. Morning citizens and visitors of DV! I love it when Iraq makes things simple for me. I mean I really, really, really love it! For weeks and months, we've been at a standstill with Iraq. No progress, nothing to really talk about. But if you've been reading the news over the last week, starting on about Saturday... ... it looks like the time has come for change. In fact, it looks like al Sadr is on a rampage! All you have to do is skim this thread: And you're going to see that after the weeks and months of dragging feet, we're on the road to be back in business. Iraq doesn't want to sit stale and stagnant, any more than we want to witness it. We haven't heard a peep about the HCL in months, and it seemed like nobody was going to do anything about it. Looks like that changed, so let's hope for some good news out of this little shake-up. Simple enough, right? Here's the weekly Q's: Computers... BLECH! What a nightmare that was... now it's been reduced to less than a migraine, just a massive headache. And YES - the turmoil! It's about darn time something happened, I'm looking for good news to come out of this. I've stated many many times that I don't think we're looking for a "date and rate" - I believe we are looking for a set of circumstances, which includes a lot of what we already have and also the all-important HCL. Hopefully we'll be getting back to work on that very soon, in the aftermath of the current situation Parliament is in. But if we have to pick a rate.... how does $1 sound? That's a fluid question right now, due to the situation I posted above. We will see. You are definitely correct about the GOI not getting anything done recently. Hopefully we are witnessing what will be a major turning point for them right now. A new IQD10 would be worth whatever the CBI sets the exchange rate at. It may remain pegged, or it could float. My opinion is that the CBI will do whatever is in it's best interests (whichever is most profitable). Will other currencies be affected? At least somewhat, but the value of the IQD isn't going to have a direct effect on, for example, the amount of USD in circulation, the USAs debt obligations, the credit worthiness of the US, etc. I think your line of questioning is trying to figure out where the wealth will come from. Let's ask a different question: When the value of the IQD plummeted from 3:1 to 1:2000 USD:IQD, where did that wealth go? Was the USD suddenly made stronger? Did it have any major effect on the USD, or any other currency? No, it did not. This is a fiat currency that we are talking about. If it was required that the value be attached to something physical, like gold, it would be a different story. But in this case, the value does not have to be tied to anything. That takes most of the logic and reasoning out of the equation. And for us, that is a good thing. ====================== / / / =========================== Until next time, friends!
  9. Mornin' Dinarians of DV! Let's see, where to start... first, there's not much to report on the Dinar today. I've seen some news that I like, none that I don't like, but also nothing to get really itchy-jumpy-excited about. So I'm not going to spend much time on IQD this morning... in fact, that was it. All done. US Politics... boy oh boy, now there is a fun one! Wisconsin was a big deal yesterday. My opinion on the situation is fairly simple - I'm not tied to any one candidate. I think they all have their fair share of negatives, so I refuse to engage in pointless battles with people that foolishly tie themselves inextricably to a "party" or a "candidate". However, I do like to watch, analyze, and occasionally place a wager on what I think the outcome will be. And I also enjoy watching people lose their minds over things they have no control over and really aren't likely to "help" them in the long run, even if their desired candidate or party happens to be the "chosen one" at this point in our rigged comedy of a political circus. Here's some random thoughts off the cuff, just because I feel like throwing them out there. Trump - didn't have much chance to win in WI, but I think he gave it a decent run anyway. He's definitely facing an uphill battle to get the necessary amount of delegates to "win" the Nomination, but there is a small chance still. Cruz - had a great day in WI and is posturing that this is a "turning point". And people actually buy it! He can't get enough of the remaining delegates to "win" the nomination, so we are most likely going to a contested convention where the Grand Ol' Party will impose it's will upon the people and a few of the more intelligent among us will be reminded that we don't control the government at all. Who will they choose to represent those who still think they are "Republicans"? That is a great mystery, and one that I am excited to see how it plays out! Bernie - the win in WI was sort of a surprise to me, but to be honest I haven't kept up with their exact polling stats for one simple fact... he won't win. To keep things real simple, even though he "won" Wisconsin, what the #Bernster supporters are ignoring is how the delegates work. Yes, he "won", but even though he took home 47 delegates, Hillarious - was still able to pocket 36 delegates! That's a net win of only 11 for Breadline Bernie, and we haven't even talked about super delegates yet. While I appreciate the young and clueless's dedication to the "political revolution", the Clinton Machine won't be stopped... at least not this year. At the end of the primaries, all the PTB sits down at a table and says "Well Gents, who will give us the biggest advantage? Because that's our person." And it's not Bernie. That's my quick on US politics! Here's the weekly Q's... with a forewarning! I'm not here to sell anyone dinar, it's not my job to make up your mind on which way you think Iraq is going, so I won't take a lot of time addressing anything negative today. ================== /// ===================== Hi roseserv, it's possible you missed my answer because I didn't directly quote you. Please read my post from last week - I gave my opinion on your thoughts throughout my post and also my answers to similar questions. Not even the slightest effect on OSI. This is more of an OSI topic, but I'll touch on it here. There is no reason to worry about "exposure" because everything OSI is designed to be completely transparent. The "Panama Papers" scandal (which is much less of a scandal than it's being made out to be, by the way) is the story it is for the same reason "Swiss Accounts" were a big story. It has to do with people intentionally breaking the law, which is something I would never be associated with or suggest anyone else touch, either. Regarding the ppb and the timing, of course it affects the timing. Everything does. Regarding the reform laws, I don't have them off the top of my head - if you have a list that I can pass along to my contacts for more information, I would be glad to do so. --------------------- === // === --------------------- That's it for now... hopefully more exciting news soon, but for now I'm just going to go watch everyone get all tissied up about which talking head they get to worship or hate for the next 4 years.
  10. Good morning and happy Wednesday everyone! So, Pete and RePete were in a boat... Pete fell out. Who was still in the boat? Yeah this week is kind of like that. Like I mentioned last week, it's my feeling that our Dinar situation is tied VERY close to oil right now. We were at what I felt was the bottom (around $30ppb), and the same sources are showing about a 3% gain this week. That's nothing special, it doesn't signify a strong stability yet, and I'm not surprised to see so little in the news about HCL yet. It's just not enough of a change to get anyone motivated, and that shows in the news feeds. Here's the visual comparison: This might sound crazy, but I actually don't want to see a huge spike. IMO the best thing we can see right now is a steady increase, or even some more flatlining. When we've seen about 2-3 weeks of stability, that's when I will start getting excited. That might have sounded a little humbuggish, but really it's not. Iraq is doing a great job in all aspects. The only thing I'm humbuggish on right now is the prospects of an RV this week. Give me a couple weeks of stable oil prices, and that should all change. With that said - you know where I stand on the "when" and "why", so let's talk news! Powerball is at ~50MM. Someone split this with me! LINK We are not the only ones who see the IQD rising. LINK Global conference on IRaqi banking? Yes please. LINK One IMPORTANT note - I mentioned last week that we might see some site maintenance shortly. Hopefully that will start shortly, because sooner started = sooner done. I'll send out an email notifying everyone, but again DON'T FREAK OUT! The email system and text systems are 100% separate from the message board here, so you will NOT miss any notices in the event of anything big. Here's the weekly Q's: There is no other country in the world, or in history, that has been in the situation that Iraq is in now due to 1) the events that have transpired over the last 15 years and 2) Iraq's incredible wealth, resources, history, and potential. There just isn't anything to compare it to. Consider how Donald Trump is breaking the mold in US Politics. Half the pundits still can't wrap their head around it, using old "measurements" and meaningless polls to naysay his success... yet he keeps winning. Which means the pundits are wrong, and the same logic applies to this question. Regarding warning points, they stay forever and there is no set "number" that will get you banned. That's part of the fun. No, I don't think that at all. Why would you think that? Although $ and religion are often intertwined, my contacts do not put any weight on such things with regard to a major change in currency value. This is a business matter, not a religious one. That's a good question, thanks! I'm going to try not to over-complicate it, because it really is a simple matter. You are correct, Iraq is indeed blessed with much natural resources, agriculture, and more! But in spite of that, there is still a finite amount of oil beneath the surface, and if they are to get the most out of their efforts and have the best chances of RVing and sustaining a higher rate, their income from oil sales has a direct impact on that. Therefore, higher price of oil = better for CBI. Not a crazy thought at all my friend! But it would behoove them to come out with a low RV when their oil is higher, because it would increase their profit by the same factor... to put it simply, if they RV at .10 when oil is 3X higher than now, then they make at least 3X. If you could trade 1 bar of gold for $500 today, but if you wait a month you know you will get $1500... wouldn't you wait a month? I would. Of course they are! There is no law or prophecy that states the RV must happen, ever, for any reason. There's also nothing demanding a lop... they could do exactly the same thing they are doing now for eternity. But WHY would they do that, when there is so much potential and possibility to recover that which was lost? Regarding Parliament, this isn't something that they announce on the morning news... "Parliament to discuss massive RV of currency" is a headline you will NEVER see. There would be an insane speculative run on the currency, and the next morning you'd see this headline: "Well, Parliament WAS going to discuss an RV but they made a huge mistake by announcing it lol sorry everyone j/k no RV". Seabee, you are a true gentleman and a saint. You have my word I will let you know. ============================================== That's it for now everyone - again, please don't freak out when the site is offline for a day or two in the near future.
  11. Good morning DV! My schedule is a bit unusual for the rest of the week, so this week's Wednesday update is coming a day early. (No need to double check your calendar! It's not you, it's me. ) *QUICK NOTE: VIP MEMBERS, I posted a VIP update here: http://goo.gl/Pnb2Fr And I also sent an email about it. If you didn't get that email, you need to fix that! Instructions to do so are in my signature below - look for the word "whitelist". Last week I spoke a little about the price of oil and how it's likely affecting Iraq's ultimate goal of raising the rate of the dinar. That led to the usual feedback, which ranges from "Thanks for the update" to "omg Adam it's all your fault no RV!!!" (or something like that). Look... this is real simple. Here's a snapshot of oil prices over the last 10 years: It certainly doesn't take a rocket surgeon or a brain scientist to see that oil is silly low right now. After you take into account for inflation, it's even more obvious that this low rate cannot last. Now, if a bunch of numbskulls like us can easily see that oil should probably be closer to $80... don't you think Iraq can, too? I certainly do. As I type this, oil hasn't moved and we still haven't seen any significant news on the HCL. The GOOD news is that it also doesn't take a genius to grasp that oil is probably about as low as it can possibly go, which means there's only one way for it to go from here. UP. And the GREAT news is that in spite of these ridiculously low oil prices, the CBI has maintained a very strong grip on the exchange rate, proving that they are, as always, very capable of manipulating their market how they wish. You don't like to wait. I don't like to wait. But "it is what it is", so let's keep a level head and at this time I think our motto is: "Watch the oil". Hey Skeet, you had it right the first time... they keep me in line I've never placed a major emphasis on Article 8, and I still don't. That would be a strategic detail, whereas I still believe it's more about the fundamentals at this time. Those fundamental things have been whittled down to a very short list: 1. HCL I like short lists! Here's something for everyone to consider, speaking of fundamentals. I made a big deal out of how the Kurds and Baghdad were getting along so much better lately. If you've been in this for long, you will know that we used to ALWAYS see article after article about 7% this and 14% that and Kuwait boycotting Parliament due to non- payment and on and on... have you seen much of that lately? Or any? Nope. It's been very quiet on that front, because they've got those fundamentals worked out. They're playing nice with each other, and despite the wait... I really like our odds once we start seeing oil go back up. True - it's slow in the news lately, and I think most people who would post in the weekly Q&A threads have probably seen most of the questions asked and answered more than once Thank you for bringing fresh questions to the table. I split them up below: Yes. At one time I had heard from sources I deem reliable that they were at banks, but that was some time ago. I don't think it matters where they are held either way. In my opinion... not in the slightest. He's done so much good, and has so much positive influence, there's no way he's under any serious risk of being "removed". Sistani... that's a good question, and a name I haven't heard in some time. I'll go back to what I said in response to skeet earlier - I think that's more of a technicality than a fundamental. So I'll rank his importance as "low". I don't pay attention to the auctions. I used to keep a detailed spreadsheet, then I realized it was a waste - the CBI will do whatever they want, whenever they want, and they won't clue is in with any kind of pattern, change, or announcement. :twcocents: Same as above - this is a technical issue, dealing with a small portion of Iraq's issues. The fact is very simple that they can have these problems AND a higher rate... but they will not be able to maintain the higher rate without the HCL. I'm not ashamed to say that YES I did hear, and unfortunately I lost some money on that game It was well won. (But not well lost... I lost a lot of respect for Newton on his post-game performance.) Cheers Booster! Happy Tuesday, everyone! Make it a great week.
  12. Hey hey, and happy Wednesday! Good morning (or afternoon, wherever you are!) DinarVets family! I don't have much more to report than the last two weeks, but I am getting a little more comfortable with my initial feeling that our next movement is going to be tied to the price of oil. Here's my detailed explanation: http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/216464-adam-montana-weekly-23-feb-2016/ With that said, this will be a very short update. Here's the good news: I try to avoid it, but a lot of people ask me every week to make a prediction. Will it happen... This week? This year? EVER?! Today is probably as close to a prediction as you'll ever get from me. It's not a date, or a rate, but here it is. It's my opinion that right now, we have been close to the "bottom" of the price of oil for a reasonable amount of time. We haven't seen any movement on the HCL recently, and I think it's because they are watching oil just like the rest of the world. Now, I could be wrong... and this is very early to get too excited... but check this out: If I'm right, and we are at the bottom of the decline, that graph might be showing us EXACTLY what we want to see! (Use this link to check out different timelines: http://www.nasdaq.com/markets/crude-oil.aspx?timeframe=10y ) I can't claim to know how long we'll stay at the bottom... but my guess is at least a week, maybe a little longer. That's going to show true solid stability. We might have less than 6 months, and probably less than 2 months, if this article is meaningful: http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/216773-the-degree-of-iraqs-credit-rating-could-rise/ Pretty neat stuff, if you ask me! Just for giggles, I used my crystal ball (*COUGH COUGH photoshop) and this is what I got! ============= /End Dinar Update/ ================ Since I am pretty confident we're not going to see HCL progress until oil proves it has hit bottom and is ready to climb again, I believe I have at least a week where I can tackle some of the things I've had on the back burner lately... ... one of which is a MAJOR update to the entire DinarVets website. This will likely cause the site to be "offline" for about 24 hours. DON'T WORRY! The email system is separate, as is the RV Text message system. If they want to prove me wrong and RV while I have the upgrade in progress, ALL emails will still go out. ALL text messages will go out. And we have a backup site (it will be emailed in the event needed) in place for the VIPs to get important information and communicate on Post-RV procedures. That's it for this morning's update. GO RV!!!!
  13. Hey hey and Happy Wednesday everyone! First a quick apology to those that have had issues with the chat lately... I tell you what, of all the trials and tribulations I've had with this site over the years, THAT is the biggest thorn in my side! (No, it's not [you]) I've patched it repeatedly, and it's time to buckle down and give it the fix it needs and the one you all deserve. If I'm lucky, it will be a 4 hour project. If I'm not lucky, my beautiful wife is willing to bring dinner to the office, and maybe breakfast. It's happened before! Please be warned that we WILL experience glitches as I work on this... please don't panic! And don't start emailing my support desk asking why I don't love you anymore or whatever else is going to go through your mind as I work on this Before I get busy on that, I'm going to do my best to hit a gas station and pick up a winning Powerball ticket for the 189+ Million Powerball drawing! You should get one too, and then join in here: http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/216029-d-v-lottery-189-million/page-2 Annnd I know I'm going to catch flack for this one too, but I can't report a revalue of the Dinar yet. I know, I know... I keep bugging them to do it, but this wasn't our week. I will say I am still impressed and encouraged by Abadi's very steady and consistent progress with so many things in the GOI, so I'll continue to monitor the situation for us. BUT... what else might we want to consider, when thinking about the situation? Let me answer one of the weekly questions: I wouldn't give up yet... yes, we're in kind of a "lull" but "big picture" we are still miles and miles ahead of where we were a decade ago. There was a LOT to get done to get this far, and I think a lot of the frustration comes from everyone thinking that it would be possible to see an RV back in 2004, 2006, etc. They were not ready! We have come a long way, and I'm sure most of you realize that we're missing one big piece right now. I've been harping on it for a while now. You know what it is... HCL. So the question at this point is "Will the HCL ever happen"? Well, consider one thing... the price of oil. Has the price of oil changed, or are we seeing a major reason for it to? Not really. And I don't think this is a coincedence, but there's also been a distinct lack of discussion on the HCL lately as well. When oil starts moving again, then HCL will ramp back up, and that's what I'm keyed in on right now. ---------------------------// ---------------------- With that said, it's time for me to get busy! Fingers crossed for a more substantial update next time. While I do love a good wager, you aren't going to trick me into committing to a date. At least not that easy! http://www.cbi.iq/ Hey Dave, There you go teaming up with Davis. You're a crafty bunch!
  14. Morning all! I'm reserving my comments on the dinar situation for a short time. AKA this is not going to be my official-official weekly update - I'm going to wait on a few developing items before I spend my usual time on it. I like what I'm seeing in Iraq right now, but I can't announce an RV yet, so I'm holding off. (I can't WAIT till I get to send the opposite email... it's going to start off like this: I hate what's happening in Iraq but let's go cash in anyway!) There's a small to medium chance that I'll come back later today or tomorrow with a further update, but that depends on Iraq. One thing that I place smaller odds on than Iraq is POWERBALL! (Our odds are better with the dinar IMO, but why not play the lottery while we are waiting?!) My numbers for the next drawing are: 26 30 42 46 52 Power#: 21 (Powerball people please start using this "Tag" in the threads: "DVPowerBall". I'll attach a screenshot to show how I did it ) I'm bringing this up (and hoping to share a win!) because it looks like people are interested, so what the heck... might as well make it a regular thing and have some fun with it! It's a $3 "investment, and would be awesome if we actually hit it. So while we're waiting on the RV, let's hit a powerball just to make it fun! Check out my last couple weekly updates. I LOVE how things are shaping up right now. I could write a book on this question, and I understand why you ask it because a lot of people are confused on it. If you want my opinion and are willing to take my thoughts on it, let me just say one thing: Iran is NOT going to take over Iraq. I'm not sure I've ever had a more open-ended opportunity to get up on a soapbox and just start talking for days and days and days (You're going to have to be more specific ) Interesting question... and actually, one of the few in recent years that the "gurus" have been even close on. Here's my answer: The IMF has no authority over an RV rate, date, or anything else. BUT there are a few people in that organization that would have insight or influence on some small aspects that could have a slight impact on how successful Iraq is with an RV, so on this rare occasion I will hand it to the gurus - yes, this is possible and even probable. ------------------------- // -------------------------------- That's it for now. THIS guy has some work to do, so I'll catch you all later!
  15. Hey everyone and HAPPY WEDNESDAY! This is going to be a short one... VIP members will be happy, Free members will be (less than happy) - but if you're free, you're not paying, so how mad can you be? LOL! In all seriousness, you all know DinarVets is here 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days out of the year... so how could ANYONE be upset? (Crickets ) Ok with that said, I want to tell you all I'm working on some REALLY cool VIP stuff. I started posting on it a few months back, and I hinted about it a couple weeks ago, and I just put another post up in the VIP section today, and I hope to get some feedback from the VIPs ASAP so I can bring some stuff to you. VIP members, you can go in the VIP section and find my latest post there, And this week, instead of answering the weekly Qs, I spent a little time telling the mods SOME of what they mean to me. Not ALL... just SOME of what they mean to me. I didn't cover it all... but I covered some of it. And THIS week, I think it's more important to share this with you all. I'll add one final thing - we have a great family here, and I love it! Here's what I posted to the mod group.... some of it redacted, but not much: kcw, I couldn't agree more [about something that was posted to me privately], and you nailed it right on the head. That hour I got to spend with my baby boy is already the highlight of my year! But I also thank you for reminding me about that little fact... I don't know if I've reminded you how much you all mean to me. TG is the gunslinger in my life, and she's the best at it. KCW you're like a sister - I know I could tell you anything. Paperboy could be my crazy aunt or fun cousin... we'd probably get in trouble, but it would be my fault and I hope someone has bail money. Bumper, k98... you know where you stand. We're all just bummin' around wondering who's gonna jumpstart who, and at what time in the morning DK If I could pay you to move in with me and be my personal trainer, I know it would be worth every penny! Viz, You've been about as stable as anyone I could ever think of. You just keep that up! Markinsa, I can tell you one thing for sure - I have some very amazing spiritual leaders close to my home. If I didn't have such a strong network so close to me, I can think of a few times when I would have reached out to you, because of some of the things you have posted. KEEP UP THAT GOOD WORK MY FRIEND!!!! tjokie, I think you are the newest member here, but you have probably commanded more of my personal time than any other member here... and that is a GOOD thing! Mods, I will tell you this... I don't know WHEN TFYU will open, but when it DOES open I will be one of the first to open my wallet there... this TJ character is a VERY serious person and the enthusiasm I've seen from TJ is a VERY rare quality! Caye... - we have a lot in common. You know that, so do I... and we can just nod-nod. ==================== I have more to talk about, but I'll probably be busy in the VIP room on that thread. (GOOD PROBLEMS!)
  16. Good morning everyone! If you caught my update last week, you'll know that I mentioned a few things that are on my mind. Some of it is directly dinar related, and some of it is "bigger picture" type stuff that eventually has an impact on the WHEN and HOW we get to a better global economy that includes Iraq and the Iraqi Dinar. To be completely frank on the situation, the IQD isn't nearly as complicated as a lot of people make it out to be... but in some ways, it's much MORE complicated. Here's how it is simple: The CBI has the final say in the exchange rate of the Dinar. PERIOD! The IMF doesn't control the rate, Maliki has no control over it, and Trump isn't going to Revalue on his first day in office. (That article made me chuckle ) When the CBI says "The new rate is X", that's it. No approvals from Obama, no vetos from Putin, nothing will change it. When the CBI pushes the button, it's DONE. Now here's how it's complicated: The IQD isn't currently traded on FOREX. It's not a currency you can go to Wells Fargo or Chase and exchange at the counter. It's not at the Currency Exchange booths in airports, and you can't currently use it to buy bread at your local store. But the IQD does have an impact on the bigger global picture. The world, at least the intelligent and aware portion, is well aware that the IQD is in existence and has the potential to create BIG waves in the global economy! I mentioned 2 major things last week: Parliament and Price of Oil. Parliament is stalled... no news out of them this week. "It is what it is", as they say. But it won't stay that way for long - things will pick up speed again, just as sure as the sun will go down and come up again. So forget about Parliament for a minute, and let's talk about Oil. Crude has crashed over the past couple months, and I'm not going to bore you with a long analysis of the market, supply, politics, and a hundred other points. I'm just going to give you my opinion - as of this morning, I'm finally starting to feel like we may have reached the bottom. Once we've reached the bottom, prices should stabilize and that's when I believe the CBI will loosen it's grip on Parliament (yes, I believe that the CBI has MAJOR strings to pull in the GOI), and once we're looking at a consistent uptick in oil... THAT is what we are looking for. It could trigger the HCL out of sheer necessity, and then we're in business. Haha! I just realized that even though I tried not to get too wordy and technical, I did it anyway. Hopefully you're all still awake. Of course, I could be wrong on this "bottom". Maybe oil will continue to crash until it's at $5 per barrel. Or maybe Bernie will just introduce legislation to make it free. Who really knows... I'm just giving my opinion. Here's the weekly Q's! I think I answered that above. Same as above GO RV! The IMF is always pushing Iraq to get their stuff together... they are paper pushers, just like most other agencies. No, not a hoax... but with the 50 being such an insignificant note at this time, I don't think they invested a lot of time or resources into completing the project. They've already declared them null, so they can choose not to honor them or whatever they want. It's just not that important to them. That's a complicated question! I have to refer to my earlier explanation of how Iraq is very simple, yet also very complicated. Do these things make a difference? Of course! But do they make THE difference? I don't think so. They "must" enter Article 8 with the IMF? No, absolutely not. Would it be "helpful"? Possibly. But they don't "need" to do that at all. Well, technically it's "my" site, but I like to think of it as "our" site, and there are a lot of opinions in this group... I didn't read the thread in question, so I don't know exactly what you're referring to. I will say that to even insinuate that I or even any majority portion of this community supports hate speech is insulting to the entire community - I'd suggest you reconsider how you phrase something like that next time. I don't have time or desire to police every post on this site (as you know, there are almost 1.5 MILLION posts here... I'm not going to read them all!) If you find things that are offensive, there are 2 courses of action: 1. Click the "report" button. We have a great moderator team here that will review and take action if necessary. 2. Avoid the threads or sections that are offensive to you. In my opinion, they wouldn't. When it comes to the DATE, such as a 2016 chance... I'm currently watching the OIL, which should give us a nice starting gun to begin the HCL race, and the finish line is RV! I know you spend a lot of time thinking about Maliki, and I'll tell you this: If I could spend a day in Abadi's head, I would pass that opportunity to YOU! I think you'd gather a lot of information that, while it may not speed up or even tell us when to expect the RV, would be a lot of fun to have laid out on a table for us all to pick through. But at the end of the day, how much does Maliki matter to Abadi? I don't think he matters much. YES, he stole a bunch of money. YES, he's a thorn in his side. But Abadi has a VERY full plate... so perhaps one day we will wake up to news that he did exactly as you suggested. Or maybe not. Either way, I stand firm that Maliki is not "priority #1" for an RV, or even Iraq's continued success in the repair and rebuilding of their country. That's my on the matter. =============================================== And on that note, my friends... I'm off for now! Stay safe, stay sane, and COME ON, OIL! Let's get this party started already
  17. Good day everyone, and Happy Wednesday! First thing on my mind is the date today - January 20th. We know that they were intending to meet yesterday to discuss the HCL, and it looks like they did meet (another miracle in Iraq, a meeting held on time!) - but we are not privy yet to the outcome of said meeting. As much as I'd love to say I have inside info, I don't at this time other than a few mentions that they will be addressing it again tomorrow. :fingerscrossed: The Budget was also not published in the Gazette, but that doesn't bother me. It was stated that their deficit is 74 Billion dollars. Friends, that is 1/10th of a single Trillion. NOT A LOT OF MONEY in the grand scheme of it all! My thought right now is that the price of oil might be scaring people. Iraq can handle $30-60ppb, but if this dropping trend continues... I hate to say it, but it might be in their best interest to hold off and see what happens. Let's hope the price stabilizes or even starts to go back up. One interesting thing to note - when they do RV, it will generate a TON of activity in the world economy, which will increase demand for oil, and will help drive oil back up. So all they need to see is an upward trend in the oil price and BAM! Jump in with an RV and take advantage! I can see that happening. Those are my thoughts for now! Here's the weekly Q's: Yes I do. Nope, not yet... Hi Shedegal, The free side will remain online. This community is too strong to just take it down! I'd never do that. However, my involvement in the non-VIP side of things will fade away so I can be devoted to the VIP areas. There is always next year bringam, yes - something like that. Have you read the "Cash In Guide"? It's short, I'll attach it to this post! Take it easy friend! Good things take time, and they aren't concerned with your lack of patience. Not at all! In fact, an RV before international trading begins would make everyone rush to start trading it, two things are very possible: 1. If they choose to float the rate, it will go up. 2. If they choose a locked rate, then it will just get stronger. Both are good. I don't think anyone has a choice at this time - it's happening, and the market is reacting accordingly. That's just how things work. Who's going to surround Iraq and force them to keep their oil? Actually, I think we might be one of the only groups of people on the planet that thinks lower oil prices is a BAD thing! There is no law that states a particular thing has to happen before any other particular thing. At least they are telling you "soon". When I call them they keep answering "Psychic Hotline, you have the wrong number"... and then they hang up. Cash In Guide - Iraqi Dinar - v1.6.pdf
  18. Hey everyone! This one will be short - I mentioned last week that we were looking forward to the 16th and the 19th. That hasn't changed. What we are seeing in the news feed, though... THIS is very encouraging in my opinion! It's real simple - Iraq is throwing news at us faster than the Google can even translate it. The news is this: 1. We have no plans to change the exchange rate. 2. We plan to change the exchange rate. And after you get done reading 17-29 poorly translated articles, suddenly you realize one more thing... ... there's nothing else in the news. Whaaa?! YEP, that's right! You're all smart enough to figure this out! I'll end my update with one small caveat - there's a chance that we're not going to see anything happen. Ever. But there's also a good chance that we're watching history right now. I'm loving this ride. Here's the weekly Q's: Probably nothing, but I'm keeping an eye on it. Nope - I actually foresaw this many years ago. If I had thought the PPB would stay high, I would have projected a higher RV rate. YES - if not an actual RV, then at least some clues as to the path we're on. I'm very excited to see what we hear in the next 7-10 days. The "hold up" hasn't changed my friend - it's the same thing. The CBI has to be able to maintain control of the exchange rate, and the same factors will always come into play. They are doing it right, and I respect them for taking their time (even though I'd like to have been DONE with this discussion years ago!) Maliki is as close to a non-factor as possible, but I won't be foolish enough to completely toss him out. We will see what "Billary" can accomplish! I'm starting to lean heavily towards Bernie taking the Socialist Dem nomination, which would be the smart thing for the Left to do in my opinion! I think Trump will steamroll Hillarious, but Bernie would give him a run for his money. We will see! (P.S. Go Pack GO!) P.P.S. When I talk politics, I'm not always voicing my preference. Sometimes I'm giving unbiased thoughts on what I think the odds are. For example, I knew Obama would win his re-election... I bet on him to do so, but that doesn't mean I supported him. Let's see what we get over the next 5 days. I'm looking forward to it HCL before, close to, or immediately after. Maliki is a done deal. 1. In part, and the evidence is only what we can find here on dinarvets.com in the news section and also what is promoted/shared by Iraq. 2. the amount of money they spend to print notes is easily negated by the progress and profit they can make with a major change in their economy... so yes, it could make GREAT sense to spend money to take a major step forward. Nope, not at all. There is a set of things that need to happen. A certain circumstance that needs to exist. A very solid landscape that must be in place, for a major change in the rate, so that the CBI will be comfortable moving that money. We are on the right path, but NO there is no actual "date" or "rate" that is pre-determined or ever will be "planned". Hope that helps. =============================== // =================================== Talk to you soon my friends!
  19. Good day and HAPPY NEW YEAR all you lovely dinarians! I hope your year is off to a great start, I know mine is! For the first time in about a decade I had a real vacation, where I spent a full THREE days only working about 2 hours a day. Woot! What a great way to end 2015, and now we're heading into 2016 and I feel REALLY good about the Iraqi Dinar. According to the latest, we should be seeing the Budget OFFICIAL around mid-month, and there is strong talk of getting the oil law rammed into place as well. I LIKE IT! Take a look at this article: http://goo.gl/jzf0XF According to the news, Parliament resumes on the 16th and the second session will be on the 19th. If I had to point at any key dates, those are pretty high on my list. Now, besides the fact that this is the earliest I've ever seen the Budget on track to be done since I started following Iraq, and the very real fact that they are seriously working on getting the HCL accomplished, there is just a great "feeling" that things are going well for them (and therefore us as well). 2016 has a great shot at being THE year, friends! That's all I have for now - here's the Q's. Happy New Year! IQD is still at 1180 for now. There's a few reasons they might devalue it... for one, it would be a great way to suck in some of the currency in circulation. Another reason - a red herring. Regardless, until they actually do something with the rate, I'm not going to worry about it. "Just another article". It WILL happen one of these weeks! And on that week, the Wednesday chat will be a very merry place to be I have talked to Iraqis both in Iraq and outside of Iraq. Some are aware of the possibility, some are not. Of course it is important to those that know about it. And I don't think it will take another change of government - Abadi is capable and I believe he wants to head in that direction. RIGHT! I was about to throw the remote if I had to watch him run straight into a WALL for 0 gain one more time!!! Oh well... 3 road wins and it's Superbowl time! I don't think anything is stopping them. Happy New Year to you and yours, Fred! Thank you for the kind words. 1. Yes, they purchase them. 2. The USD enters the regular circulation in Iraq, is part of the auctions, etc. 3. There is no such thing as "left over" currency. Sterling made some bad business decisions that had nothing to do with the dinar situation. And yes, you should not be discouraged. Things are looking very good for us right now. The CBI can do it at any time they choose, and not one organization in the world can stop them. 1. It is scheduled for mid-month, after which time it will be posted in the Gazzette, and then it is officially official. 2. I certainly look forward to hearing theories, but it's my hope that we won't have time to theorize - once the budget is passed, HCL should be next on the list, and with any luck we'll be blind-sided by an overnight RV. 3. No updates on it... we're about at the time-frame that I suspected it would take, so I wouldn't be surprised to hear about that again soon. Of course, with a major change in the rate, the credit rating may be delayed... but at that point, we won't care. =========================== // ================================= That's it for now... again, Happy New Year everyone! 2016 should be awesome for us.

  21. Wednesday again?! Oh my goodness, Charlie Brown! Just an FYI to everyone, with Christmas coming up... I'm going to be keeping a sharp eye on everything happening in and around Iraq, but don't be surprised if I don't devote the normal time to the weekly over the next couple weeks. I want to wish you and all your families a very Merry Christmas, a Happy New Year, and the best blessings God can provide for you... you all deserve it, and don't let the holidays stress you out... we all know how that goes! Short update today: 1. Long time member Shabs hits 10,000 posts! Go tell him congrats here: http://goo.gl/uWGFYW 2. The BUDGET, and also HCL - there is reason to believe that we have some HUGE progress on this as of TODAY, but it's too early to give an official statement. It appears that the BUDGET was passed today in Parliament, but please everyone... give it a day to simmer and see if anything else comes out. Don't take that as a negative! We have a good chance to see BOTH done before the end of 2015, which could be absolutely amazing! If you've been involved with the dinar for long at all, you might remember that previous budgets weren't approved until well into the year they were actually focused on. To get a Budget done this fast is GREAT for us! I like it. 3. Here's the weekly Q's! I think it will be mentioned in the Budget, but officially done as a separate piece of legislation. That doesn't concern me at all. Iraq is a strong country, even though they have suffered a very tough decade. They will be fine. Hey Pete, Iraqi military is better than it's been in a LONG time, and if you check my update from last week you will see some solid proof of that. The Kurdish influence on Iraq's ability to raise their rate is definitely real, but I would put their "weight" on it at about 29%... in other words, they don't have the majority and they will not get all of what they want. When the CBI feels ready to RV, the Kurds will complain but they will take what they get. And then they will continue to complain and whine. That's just how it works there. 1. No, Iraq will put it's value at whatever the CBI decides - not what the neighboring countries are doing. 2. I just fired it up and got an error message... something about a Windows update. I'll get back to you later Doesn't matter - they don't follow those rules anyway Please be sure to link to the article I wouldn't be spooked. But use the whiskey as needed. - Dr Montana RP, that's a great question and you are truly thinking outside the box. I like it! In any major shift of something like this, whether it's a stock market or a currency rate, there will be winners and losers. In this case, I think it just comes down to the winners... and the CBI has understood for a LONG time that if they can't maintain the rate, then IRAQ will be the loser. So, why the delay? Why postpone it? Simple - they have been working for over a decade to create an environment where they can SUCCESSFULLY raise the rate, and KEEP IT raised. There's no point in raising the rate if it would just fall right back down. The good - no, GREAT - news, is that they have done a great job of getting to the point where it is actually realistic, feasible, and probable that a rate increase is on the horizon. None that I can specifically link to at this time. Next to ZERO. The IMF is as useful as the UN, except when it comes to giving loans, which puts them at about the same level as an Obamacare Administrator. The IMF carries weight only because people believe they are important. Here's a very important thing to understand: If the IMF said tomorrow "Gold is worthless"... would that make gold worth $0? Absolutely not. Iraq is like gold in this analogy. If Iraq says "Our Dinar is now worth 1:1USD", nothing the IMF says will change that. Period. 1 3 2 I don't know about Possum... I assumed he went undercover on some Russian spy mission. Good question! I read recently that the new Budget is being based on $45 PPB, which I LOVE - I was very annoyed last year when they foolishly used a $60-65PPB figure. $45 is much more realistic and allows us to continue moving forward. So, to answer your question... I'm happy with how things are progressing. Does it have to be? Maybe. Does it matter? Not really. We're moving towards a free market in this whole situation, and a lot of the "rules" that people used to point at are simply going to become irrelevant. This is a good thing. My opinion is that we are in a GREAT position with IQD at this time. I'm going to have to withhold comment on this one for now - I saw your other thread, and the topic is pretty complex. I could spend an hour on this question alone, if I don't have some specific direction or angle to answer. Please feel free to post it again in the next Q&A thread, but give me something a little more specific to answer... I'd love to address it. Or maybe they could just raise the value and we could talk about different subjects, like where and how to cash in. =======================================
  22. Good morning and happy Wednesday! Things to take note of: - Parliament is currently active. The budget was on the agenda today and could be again tomorrow. - Part of the budget talks include oil law related items. Moving forward! http://goo.gl/uHqIjp And there is good stuff happening over there, although sometimes you have to look harder to find the positives. We all know the MSM doesn't make as much money on good news! I posted a few this morning: - Over 600 ISIS killed in November (Kurds) - http://goo.gl/3MWYnm - Iraqi army preparing to retake Shargat - http://goo.gl/AJVT81 - Large parts of Ramadi recaptured from Daesh - http://goo.gl/wai9y8 With those things said, I still can't say the magic words. There are lots of positive rumors floating around, but until they become fact... Not much else to say for now... here's the weekly Q's! We don't have an HCL yet. It's on the agenda, but that's all I can verify at this time. Still, that's better than no news! I was noticing the same thing bud! Lots of questions that we covered extensively in the past, but we haven't talked about much recently. Speculating on tax rates and implications on the dinar is a lengthy conversation. I will give my condensed version in a few brief points. It is NOT likely at all that we will pay "long term" or "capital gains" taxes on a significant gain. All of my experts agree that it will be a minimum of ordinary income tax. Depending on your state and country, your max tax rate could easily be over 40%, approaching 50%. A worst case scenario is where a "windfall tax" is applied and it goes even higher. I'm pretty sure we all agree that Uncle Sam knows how to find the Dinar that was purchased in the states! There are ways to defer gains like these, and even ways to minimize your tax liabilities to almost $0. Those are things I talk about in the VIP section in great detail, all 100% legal and above board. VIP members, today or tomorrow I will send out a refresher email on where specifically to read up on those details. *** Edited to add the VIP link I am sending by email right now: http://goo.gl/fp2j2G That site is not reliable for IQD - never has been. Waiting to build bridges? No, I don't think so at all. Iraq is playing politics, just like every other government. They are doing just fine building bridges and paving roads and all that. And Packers, HECK YEAH! Too bad I gave up on the game in the first half and went to sleep. I'm going to pass on this one. We're too close to possible news, I wouldn't want to jinx anything. My opinion on the turmoil stays pretty consistent - they will never stop fighting, regardless of the value of their money. They don't fight for money, so it's kind of irrelevant. Of course it makes a difference, but now that the GOI is reasonably stable, the CBI has a strong hold on the rate, Iraq is getting along much nicer with themselves... things are going well. I did post some positive links above. And Happy Birthday! ========================================== And so concludes this morning's update. Stay safe, and have a great day!
  23. Hey everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic Thanksgiving! We all have so much to be thankful for... I could get on a podium that would carry me into 2017, but I'll hold off on that (for now). About the Dinar - I have a few things that I am looking into, so I'm going to push the weekly update to Friday. That should give my contacts and I enough time to have information on some things we're looking into. Or, maybe not. This is Iraq we are talking about, if you remember! In all seriousness, I want you to know that I am working on some things that we will be happy to hear, but I'm not going to throw it out here without doing my homework. And also very serious... I truly value our community here. I have done a weekly update and responded publicly to the community, consistently and without fail, for more than 5 years... so there's no way I can let a 2nd Wednesday go by without at least a short drive-by. More on Friday. See you again in a couple days ================================== I heard that years ago but I got a fresh chuckle out of it. Thanks bud Of course there is. We could also get hit by a bus driven by a shark in a lighting storm In all seriousness... my above answer is true. But I would encourage you to not think of it in those terms. Yeah, maybe it's taking longer than some of us wanted... but how can anyone deny that Iraq truly has a major chance at increasing their currency? I don't think any logical being on this planet can deny them that. There is a LOT of reason to be bullish on the HCL right now. Tex, you've been with me long enough to know I don't release rumors... and right now the real JUICE that has me excited is not verifiable with external links, so I can't - actually I WON'T - put it in writing. If I can get confirmation from 3rd parties that I can share with the group, I'll put it in the VIP section in the next couple days. I'm very rarely at a high number on the ?/10 scale... To be blunt, I'm usually at a 3/10. I've hit the 9 mark on a couple of occasions... one in particular was when I got word that Chapter 7 was about to go through. We all know how that turned out: it went through, and I was the first to notify dinar enthusiasts. As a rule, I don't do dates or rates... but I'll tip my hand a little and say this: I'm at about a 7 with the HCL. I'll share more on Friday. Hey lupine, Iran Real... I don't want anything to do with it, regardless of the purchase price. If you're holding Dong, I hope it goes up for you, but I don't spend much time studying it for the weekly updates so I can't give much of an opinion there. The Lions played great, I won't deny that. My opinion, related to your HCL inquiry, should be up later this week. If he'd answer my phone calls I might be able to. So far it's just a bunch of unanswered voicemails. Hey djboutit, that's a great question - I'm not going to knock your lions, and yeah if they played that way every week we'd be having a different conversation! But about Iraq, I hope you'll forgive me - you're seriously digging into exactly what I hope to answer in a day or two, so I have to beg off for now. Thank you for understanding, and good luck on gameday! Hey Dave, Thanks for the implied Christmas wish M1 means nothing, because the CBI is indeed taking care of the amount of IQD in circulation. I've actually said a lot about that subject in my last couple updates, which can be found by clicking the tag "Adam Montana Weekly" up by the topic title on this post. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well my friend! <5M dinar I would at least do the Name Reserve. There is a ton of info on it in VIP. Congrats on coming in! I know you'll benefit from the knowledge in there. I think our exchange time will be at least 30-90 days and up to 2 years, depending on how the CBI decides to float/peg it. I'm actually leaning towards float with the current global economy, because Iraq could outlast not only the USD but also a couple other currency/economies... but that's a whole different update. Check my last few updates. I discussed the note swap/intro at length and very specifically. ronberta thanks for the clapping.... great way to finish off my weekly Q&A! Low price of oil - I'm fine with it. I was actually upset (I think you were with us then!) when Iraq based their 2015 budget on a $65ish ppb.... I thought that was silly and I discounted the entire budget at that time. That's actually why I've been so anti-budget-question for so long - I didn't think $67 or whatever they had budgeted was realistic. NOW, on the other hand, we are at a realistic $ amount for oil, and I don't think it will go lower. With that said, I'm curious... are any of you investing in oil? If so... how? (It's about time I got to participate in the weekly Q&A!)
  24. Hello friends, and thank you in advance... I'm skipping out on my weekly update, in favor of spending time with family. They deserve it. Happy Thanksgiving! ================================ GOBBLE GOBBLE EVERYONE!
  25. Good morning and Happy Wednesday everyone! Let's get the obvious out of the way first - no RV at this time. Aside from what I discussed the last two weeks, the only thing worth spending time on is the 50k notes. I have a theory: When the RV is announced, the CBI will want to reduce the supply of larger notes (currently 25k and 10k) as quickly and efficiently as possible. One very easy way to do that is to release one larger denomination, the 50,000, and introduce that either immediately before, during, or after the rate change. By "immediately", I mean hours, not to exceed 24 hours. The new 50k notes should be just as technologically advanced as the current 25/10k notes, if not more. This will help avoid a lot of problems with counterfeiting while at the same time controlling the paper money supply. I would expect that transition to happen over the course of maybe 30 days, at which time there will probably be a demand that all 50k notes are turned in for smaller denominations, or even more likely, deposited into digital accounts. This allows the CBI to continue to control the paper money supply and also the rate... really, it's just how a central bank works. It's actually quite a simple concept if you're familiar with how fiat currencies work. The bottom line is simple - in my opinion, the 50,000 dinar notes could be a very powerful tool to help the CBI control the RV process, and the timing couldn't be better. GO RV!!! Because of how positive things are right now, the usual rumor mill is getting fired up and should be in full production mode as we continue to see positive movement... for example: I'm hearing rumors again from various misguided individuals that there is a "tier cash-in" about to start... if you hear that, please immediately take off your shoe, remove a sock, and stuff it in the mouth of the person regurgitating that nonsense. The air will instantly be cleaner and anyone in hearing distance will be saved precious brain cells, and they will thank you for your selfless actions. When the RV is announced, it will be a simultaneous cash-in for everyone. There will be no secret exchanges, different rates, etc. The ONLY possible way to have an advantage during cash-in is to be in our VIP group... and that's not because we get a special "rate", it's because we already have a system in place to process our transactions, and we have pre-determined guidelines that will determine the spread we pay. (If you don't know what the "spread" is or how it affects your ROI, just take a quick read through my Cash In Guide. I'll attach it to this post.) On to the weekly Questions! ================================================= Not particularly. I think Iraq (mainly the CBI) is going to do whatever it wants either way, and G20 summits usually disappoint regardless of what's going on in the world. I'm becoming a believer. The Packers, on the other hand... ugh. In the last month we did see them put a very strong push for the HCL into the budget talks, which I think is very encouraging. The Patriots... what are they doing losing to the Giants!? They cost me some money last Sunday! We're currently waiting on HCL, I haven't heard anything solid about the meeting yesterday. I get my precious metals at APMEX, but if you're not in the US there are better options. Check in the Precious Metals section here on DV for more feedback from the community. OOOOOH... I'm going to hold my comments on that one. It depends on a lot of things that we can't predict. I will be keeping in constant touch with the VIP members Post-RV as to my buy/hold/sell feelings. I clipped the article right there because there are other articles that state the exact opposite. Example: "Finance Committee: the central bank to issue any financial category offset by the withdrawal of classes 10 and 25 000 dinars" I don't know what happened there... maybe he pulled a Pete Rose and bet his entire net worth against the Packers on Sunday. The topic was supposed to be discussed Tuesday (yesterday) - as far as I know, no solid news has been released on the outcome. Check out my Cash In Guide, I'll attach it to this post. I don't believe it is possible to purchase one at this time. In fact, we Dinar speculators may never see one if my above theory is correct. Of course, if my theory is correct then we're just going to take our profit and not complain too much about never seeing the 50k note. ============================================= That's it for now friends! Stay positive and I'll be in touch as news happens. Cash In Guide - Iraqi Dinar - v1.5.pdf
