  1. Baghdad reaches an agreement with Erbil on the 2021 budget Political - The Iraqi Minister of Finance announced on Saturday that an agreement had been reached with the Kurdistan Regional Government in the north of the country regarding the fiscal budget for the next year 2021. Allawi said that his ministry “reached an agreement with Kurdistan on the 2021 budget ″, without disclosing any details about the agreement. The Finance Minister’s statement came after an emergency session of the government, during which it discussed the country's draft budget for the next year. A statement issued by the Office of the Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, stated that "the Council of Ministers decided to complete the discussion of the Federal Budget of the Republic of Iraq for the fiscal year 2021, on Sunday." Last Tuesday, the Iraqi government announced that the financial agreement with the Kurdistan Regional Government, in the north of the country, was included in the 2021 budget bill. The Vice President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, announced from Baghdad, last Monday, the commitment of the Kurdistan region to deliver oil and non-oil revenues to the federal government, which would end the financial crisis between the two parties. A delegation from the Kurdistan region, headed by the Minister of Finance Awat Janab, arrived in Baghdad on 3 of this month, to discuss the region 's share in the financial budget, as well as salaries stalled for the current year. The federal government has cut off the region employees ' salaries since April / April last After it said that the regional government did not abide by the agreement concluded in 2019 to deliver 250,000 barrels per day of crude oil to Baghdad to Erbil, which the regional government denied. Since the toppling of the previous regime in 2003, the region's share of the financial budget amounted to 17 percent, but Baghdad reduced the percentage to about 12 percent after tension between the two sides in the wake of the 2017 secession referendum.
