I just read that 3 men from Sterling have been convicted because of their ponzi scheme selling dinar. Just happened Wednesday. So, what does that mean for all of us, wherever we bought? Is this the final nail in the Dinar investment dreams?

Seems to me that Shabbibi has just shown everyone that he is in charge of the bank, and he will do what he believes is best.

I've only been in this investment about 2 years, and have read and researched both on this site and off. The longer the ride lasts, it seems, the more bashing that pops up on this site. While a rate of $7 sounds ridiculous to most of us, I keep going back to a statement that SHABIBI himself made on US television when he was here in the US last summer - Montana or Wyoming - for a Bank Governor's conference...he said during the interview that Iraq CAN AFFORD to RV at $12. He said it himself...I watched the interview...he talked about how much wealth Iraq has and how much oil they have...HE SAID THEY COULD AFFORD $12. While I realize that a rate of $12 is completely crazy, he said it. So why so much bashing on others who speculate $7 or $5 or $3? None of us know - we all just research and predict (and maybe SOME just predict). It'll happen as it's supposed to happen, no matter what anyone out here says. Relax a bit and continue to wait (patiently?) and one of the thousands of rates that have been predicted might be right!

From what I have read, today was the Electoral Commission's "Big Announcement" and the world-wide-media covered "Big Announcement" on Wednesday is being called for by Maliki himself.

Keep used the word "blessing"! I can't believe it! After having been blasted by him in the past for references to my faith and for being belittled by him for bringing my "religion" into a place (this site) where God has no place, he used the word "blessing". WOW.

Sorry - I think dinarmamma and I must have been posting at the same time.

I'm sure there are others who saw this, and I wish I knew where to find the link I watched before, but when Shabbibi was in Wyoming (or was it Montana?) for a meeting of Central Bank executives, he said in an interview for a national news, that Iraq is very rich and that they could support an $11 RV. I watched him say it. Does anybody else remember seeing this? I don't for even a minute think they will come out at such a high rate...I think he was bragging more than anything, but it certainly strengthened my resolve that it will be in the $3 range.

I find these kinds of reports fascinating, because while I'm sure bank employees are not supposed to be saying anything to encourage the investment, there def are those out there who will tell everything they know. I believe all this is going down soon, and I also believe that there are going to be leaks of information around...so I look for at least partial truth in all of these bank rumors and other intel/news. No, it wouldn't necessarily make it his brother-in-law, too....it could be his brother's wife's brother...which would make the poster not related by blood OR marriage. So, who did Fire22's translating on THIS email....seems like he or whoever did it has a pretty good handle on the English language and is very "conversational". If he actually wrote this email directly to Frank, he doesn't even need a translater! Maybe I missed a step in the process.

I, too, think it's good news...we all exchange for local currency whenever we travel to other countries...looks like Iraq needs to get a valid one so those that travel to Iraq can get dinar and spend!

Without trying to blast anyone or choose sides in this debate, didn't Sonny1 come back on after the exchange of words and say that according to mi17mech's IP address he was NOT in iraq as he said he was, but stateside? And if THAT were true, where did he get all the info that he used to discredit Sonny1? So much drama on here, and i think the longer we don't get the RV we're all hoping for, the worse it will get.

This post is contradictory - first it says 3rd reading is DONE, then says it will be done tomorrow........so, which is it? I had read earlier that 2nd reading is postponed to Sunday. WAY too much confusion.

I just read another article saying that he will take the position that they've been talking about for weeks, and part of his responsibilities will be to oversee the appointed ministry positions. I'm so confused! I went back to tty to find the article I'd read about this and now I can't find it ... maybe i'm sleepwalking today.

Maybe those who have thrown the $5.28 rate out there recently aren't all that far-fetched after all! I've always been in the $3 range camp, but this could end up anywhere, I guess. I'd be happy with $1, ecstatic with $3, and speechless at $5! God bless us all - Iraqis and investors.

There was lots of discussion about this article either yesterday or the day before in the Chat Room....sladrian (sp?) brought it over...everyone was excited, but then there's been no word regarding it in any other news forums since. It DOES sound so very very exciting...I wish there was some follow-up to the article.
