  1. I see what you see ... I merely posted with a link what I saw ... move it where you like ... I, like you, have no way to verify what a member says or (truly) believes ... merely thought that folks might want to see ...

The great part is that all of us will be able to compare it against what actually does evolve ... including the fact that it might be crap!

    Peace

  2. (I don't see this posted elsewhere forgive me if it has been ... just trying to help)

  3. When I saw this I thought I remembered it happening months ago ... I googled Jack Smiley and Idaho and got what you see below.

What you posted was the final disposition by the court ... 3 years probation and $1000 fine because he didn't have a license. Everyone got their money back.

It was actually reported almost a year ago http://statevssmiley.blogspot.com/ as the recovery of the dinar which he would not disclose took place June 2009

    Thursday, September 10, 2009

  4. The Dialogue will result in a summary by the President of the General Assembly as an input to the preparation of the High-level Plenary Meeting of the General Assembly on MDGs (New York, 20-22 September 2010).

Is this saying the summary of the meeting will be announced in September' date=' 2010?[/b']

Apparently, but of the "high-level Plenary Meeting of the General Assembly on MDGs" (Millennium Development Goals ... which is just what it says) and not to be confused with RI/RV, I don't believe.

  5. You're welcome Chief V ... that picture of the "toy" is where part of my RI/RV 'd dinar is going ... my wife said, "Honey, be sure and buy enough (more) so that you can get yourself any trike that you want!" ... I thought that that was so selfless that I bought enough (more) to buy her a house and a couple of cars (if she wants them) as well! Nope, she doesn't have a sister ... everyone asks.

    Peace

  6. The IMF SDR rate according to the IMF site

    http://www.imf.org/external/np/tre/activity/2009/123109.htm

    ... if I read this right ... on December 31, 2009 is 1.56769 (Q4)

It's located in Table 1 near the bottom under "rates" ... far right Q4 ... not quite sure what that means in relation to the original post and the insightful post that followed by Chief V ... but isn't 1.56769 better for us than .65 ???

    Thanks both of you

  7. Can someone please direct me to any source that would tell me which 4 currency exchanges were listing the IQD at $1.49? If I am listing this in the wrong section or doing something improperly please forgive me ... it's just that I'm sure that it had to be listed in news somewhere. Can anyone direct me to that thread or just tell me which four exchanges? Yes, I understand that it was sometime back ... here's the post:

On to the $1.49 Dinar RV rumor…

So – what’s up with the $1.49 Iraqi Dinar RV?

A couple nights ago, many of our phones began ringing – off the hook. Mine rang so much I eventually changed my voicemail to state my answers and I turned it off. The next morning, my voicemail was full, and everyone wanted the same answers – IS IT TRUE?!

To date, we still don’t know exactly why more than 4 currency exchange and information sites were showing a rate of $1.49 USD for every one Iraqi Dinar. Everyone has an opinion, and my official statement is this – the dinar exchange rate was a result of simple human error.

But why did it show up on FOUR major sites?!

Again, just the name of the exchanges (websites would be a bonus) is what I am looking for ... I don't need bashing if I've erred here ... guidance along with the answer would be appreciated.

    Peace

  8. Thanks ... I'm all for their two weeks of politics and then vote and go back to work ... but does anyone really have a feel for how long that they will take to count, authenticate, announce, rebut, challenge, recount, re-declare, and finally assemble? Excluding all of the outside pressures and incidents likely to take place during this period, of course!

  9. What follows is an email from our God-daughters' dad who is a contract firefighter stationed in Iraq. Nothing earth shattering but confirmation that news has filtered down to Iraqi citizens/merchants that the RV is coming and what they believe it will mean for them as well as the RV rate that they believe is coming. Again, only one man's opinion (a kiosk merchant) ... the firefighter is known to me and my wife (a first rate guy and firefighter) who holds dinar and has consistently increased his investment because according to him (in a previous email), "...I have seen the oil seeping out of the ground in this wasteland and that's not even counting all the natural gas. Like I told her (his wife) the one thing I'm sure of is we are not going to lose money it's just a matter of how much we are going to make! Thank you for sending me all the info. ( I read everything ) and I'm looking forward to having my girls college and first cars paid for in the near future...take care "

    Here's the email

I spoke to one of the local Iraqi shop owners on base --

you know the guy's that sell the soldier's goods, sundries, stuff, ...

anyway ,I asked him what he thought was going to happen

with the dinar and he got pretty psyched --and went on to tell

me that it's been all over their local news about the sanctions

being lifted and that they are due for a dinar RV.. He thinks it will

happen around mid summer..I tried to get some more info from

the guy but it was hard to keep him on topic---he was more interested

in giving me a history lesson on what the dinar used to be worth and how

he and the rest of his family will be very wealthy when they do RV...He

was telling me ( in his opinion ) that it will match our money dollar to dinar..and he

expected it to be back to a pre Saddam value within 5 years....I hope he's right..

anyway , I will try to pick his brain again in a couple days..he speaks English well,

so let me know if you have any specific questions I should ask..oh yea, I forgot that you and Shirley put Dinar aside for your Grand kids education. when I made the comment about having

college paid for I was thinking for myself.....still getting used to this Father thing. It's funny how

it changes you. I think of everything in long term now...as long as my 3 girls are secure and happy I should have it made. talk to you later, M*******

  10. I think that you might find that this is a good thing ... after all, they removed barriers and stepped one meter into Iraq ... the last time that they did something like this oil prices went up dramatically. With the inverse relationship of the dollar vs oil ... IMO it sets this up to be a prime opportunity FOR revaluation not to stall it. I agree that an incursion deep into Iraq with a number of heavily armed, motorized battalions would obviously be detrimental ... but this smells more like a ploy ... I mean, come on, ONE METER! It opens a window if not a door of opportunity without any real afront.

Besides, if you think everything in the news with regard to Iraq is going to be/has to be "perfect" for RV ... you are going to have a very long wait ... ask yourself, when has it ever been perfect in Iraq?

Lets wait and see if oil isn't up on Monday amidst scares featuring this "incident" and see if all of our prayers aren't answered mid to late week. Just a thought.
