Can you imagine how many phone calls the banks have gotten since basically Nov -December 2009 to now--- anxious people asking about the dinar?? I wish I had 1 dinar note for every call made. Banks have been told to play it down, divert calls, run ya around the block and then put ya away wet.. Until it actually RVs, there is no telling the response you will get.

Why is the news on the 3rd, saying there ministries still are outstanding and debate with Maliki goes on to choosing the Minister of Security and Interior and Defense and Electricity as well as the budget not being passed yet and why are there still outstanding issues with Allawi's Council? Hmm? Even all independent news media sources not run by or controlled by Maliki confirm these events have yet to take place and the meetings are still underway for immediate resolution. Next meeting of Parliament is to be Saturday to discuss the SFC ruling of putting the Independent entities such as the Electoral and the CBI under Executive jurisdiction. Do these folks not think we are reading the news.?

No LOP. Looks like you are reading too much into what Shabbibi has said all along what the plan is. The way the people of Iraq wil benefit will be an increase in purchasing power because what once cost 1000 dinar will soon cost @ 1 dinar, so they will now be able to buy more items in country. For the investor like us, we will realize the full potential of the RV because we are out of country..

Thank you for the post. Since now that the GOI has been formed, things are now in motion for the CBI to be able to release the RV. They wanted to hand this over to a formed government and Med is absolutely correct in mentioning Allawi and his importance to the process and the eventual rate that will be disclosed. Allawi and Maliki are both pro a higher RV rate as we all know but, the IMF is a keep it moderate player here that may put the brakes on anything outrageous. There are so many factors at play but, I know I will be more than happy as I know all here will be too as long as you have remained within reasonable expectations. It looks like we all are in for a very bright future very soon.
