IQD & VND
Blondie121 replied to FrustratedTeacher's topic in Opinions, Perspectives, and Your Two Cents on the Iraqi Dinar
I have no idea what the dong will do. Nor have I any idea what the IQD will do. Did I buy? Yes! Not a lot, but.... the price for dong was $65 for 1,000,000. IF it revalued at even 1/2 cent I have made a good return on my investment so... I take the chance. I agree however, do not ever invest more than you can afford to lose. That is what makes this so much fun. -
TINA HAD A SCREEN SHOT THAT WAS A DONG = .48 CENTS
Blondie121 replied to phoenix27's topic in Dinar Rumors
When I checked the XE.com site last night the Dong rate was .000047 That may be where your Granddaughter came up with the 47. Actually, i think it was .0000478 or something. There were a couple more numbers after the 7 but... the 0000 was really all I needed to know. -
Will the United States remain "United"?
Blondie121 replied to hoosier1470's topic in Off Topic posts
Frankly, I think that IF everyone in our great nation would decide that we would work together for the good of all, instead of what "I" want, we would soon be a greater nation. For one, I do not think we have any business in creating havoc in other countries. Let us get a sense of peace for our nation and then work to spread peace to others. I am tired of fighting - too old to continue the constant battles I have been appalled at how vicious our arguments and barbs have been with each other - often between really good friends - throughout the past 2 elections. I have lived over-seas for 20 plus years. Learned that except for a very few, citizens of all the world want what we want. Enough to eat, Take care of our loved ones, worship the God of our understanding, and time to spend with people we care for. Perhaps we would not have to discuss leaving our Union and going our own way. -
Sounds like the Iraqi Government really took lessons from our "rulers". The House (U.S.) worked 113 days and took 250 days off including a 30 day vacation. According to their calendar the Senate worked 172 days with 163 days off plus 30 days vacation. That sounds sort of like an Iraqi work year - LOL

All this time I thought the USA had taught the Iraqi government how a "true" democracy should be run. Now I find that THEY have taught the US Congress how things should operate. We have learned very well. Congress has now become the 47%. They are on the Government take, they get paid every month (more than my social security check I admit) whether they work or not, (not sure if Congress gets more or less days out of the office), free health insurance, I think I even read someplace that they also had a auto allowance -or some such to pay for their fuel - to get to work once in a while. - Wait, I did not get that part of being on the government dole. Oh, Poor Me. Maybe I am moving into the 48%! LOL -
Maverick - It really does not matter who takes the polls. The important information was that Romney said it and that means it is so! He has said he does not pay attention to the fact finders, so how can he be wrong? I happen to be a member of the 47%. Just to set the record straight, I started working at age 12 (and have one of the smallest social security numbers around to prove it) and have paid into the "system" until I retired at age 75. You are correct. I do not pay taxes. Sorry guys and gals, that is the way it is. I do collect my social security checks and spend practically every cent of it. Both my husband and I worked and saved and yes, Mr. Romney thought we were being responsible. Then 911 took over and with it, we lost savings. (Not whining about that - stuff happens). Then illness struck and because my husband had worked overseas he had no insurance. Therefore, with no previous insurance, he was uninsurable. Those of you in the same situation, know how fast that wipes out any and all savings. Now I am delighted that I have a "fall-back" situation i.e. I can live on my social security money. By the way, my husband died before he could collect on the funds he paid in. Am I a victim? I do not think so. I think I am very blessed to be alive and able to make ends meet so far.

Thank you for keeping us updated. What fantastic news. God is indeed an awesome God. My thanks to Him for his wonderous work

Tired of this! Perhaps we should just keep all of our money in the good old U.S.A. Sorry Iraq - No more. Contact our US based companies and have them simply shut down the oil wells and other investments in Iraq until they are paid in full for work performed. When Iraq starts obeying their laws, we will "play" again. Sorry, too early in the A.M. for rational ideas. This is my gut speaking, not my brain.

Muslims Kill Americans. US Apologizes to Muslims.
Blondie121 replied to krome2ez's topic in Off Topic posts
Please - everyone just sit back and take a deep breath before more people are killed. Americans simply do not begin to understand the mid-east (Arab) mind-set. I lived in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia for several years in the 1980's. This was an area that was very friendly to westerners. Some Congressman from Oregon happened to make an inane comment - by American Standards - and it was taken out of context in Saudi. We happened to be away from our apartment at the time and when we tried to return our vehicle was repeatedly stoned. At that point, we had no idea why. - In fact because of the news situation over there, I still do not know why. I just know that for the next 3 days we did not dare leave our apartment. Arab friends who owned a small food store contacted us and said if we needed food, call them and they would bring to us. It was not safe for us to be outside. This wide difference in thinking, is what makes this business of international politics so difficult. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the innocent people who were killed. There but the grace of God go I. -
Thank you. I hope all journalists will read this - just in case they have "forgotten" exactly what their job is.

Interesting I have purchased from there for over 3 years, but... they did not call me. Oh Woe is me. Hurt ffeelings? Nope, I didn't buy that much from them. Did check them out though and they have no complaints against them on BBB. -
I too pray daily for the best for our nation and for the world. I really don't care if it is Obama or Romney (well, yes, I do care, but.... what will be will be). I do ask God to send us the best leader for our nation and the world at this time. We have gone so far astray, I wonder if we will ever make it back - as a nation. Keep praying everyone. Thank you.

Congress hits bottom: Only 10 percent approve
Blondie121 replied to dinar_stud's topic in Off Topic posts
You can add me to the list of non-approval for our current Congress. What a bunch of do nothings unless I can do something for ME. They seem to forget the "ME" is actually WE THE PEOPLE! Bah Humbug.
