  1. IMHO if they were paid a decent wage, there would be no need for "bakshesh" (a bribe). Of course it would still not occur, but perhaps not as prolific.
  2. Frankly I think there should be a simple law that says they have to read EVERY bill before they vote to pass or not pass it.
  3. When I found this poem, I cried. Enjoy it Dads! How blessed you are! “Father’s Day” A child is born, all in His Kingdom are told . A new father is created, an eternity of commitment is bestowed. Hallmark created a holiday remembering fathers for their acts of love big and small. A time to reflect the depth of a father’s real love and favorite memories to recall. Fatherhood starts with no previous experience, no training manual or quick tips to check. God provides examples of everlasting love, as a role model, a father’s actions will always reflect. A father’s job is to shape a child’s life, with only lessons from the past to begin. Instilled are ethics, morals, and attitudes, but what is best to pass on, and when ? Advice is always given to develop new skills from fathers who have been there and care. Even with Google and Bing to search for questions of the heart, go to God to share. A father’s challenge is to be strong, dependable and secure. Yet flexible enough for unconditional love, when the world offers no other cure. A father holds rank above all other men, a place of honor God holds true. A position where He offers the opportunity to grow, while a child teaches you. There would not be a Father’s Day without a child, His Gift for us to love. Generations are the chain of life, a direct link to our Father, who art in Heaven above. Janet Folkerts 06-10-2013
  4. June 27th... Well now I realize why Iraq stalled delivery of their new currency until July 2013. They knew it all along! I doubt this will happen "early". Would you trust M to follow through on his "agreements" unless he was on fire?
  5. Dinar Thug - Thanks for the info on how to post. One should not permit senior citizens to own computers! I realize the article I posted was a year ago, but.... since over that year I had heard so many rumors about new money - Monthly (nearly), ordered, not ordered, going to order, etc. that I thought perhaps a real date i.e. July 2013 might make a difference - silly me. I have been in this long enough to know that is not true. Thanks again.
  6. John 29 Drat! You just blew up another of my very best dreams. They are getting more and more difficult to come by! Keeping my fingers crossed anyway.
  7. I found the below article and while I do not think it belongs here, I have no idea how to start a new topic, so... Mods please move this where it might do some good. Consider it a rumor, but... I think a pretty good one. 8. Can I assume that since it was an "international company" individual (my take on the above) that is the reason that they are going to make a fuss. I notice they seem not to care if it is an Iraqi who scams the govt.
  9. Good Evening. I am a VIP member and do have dinar. My apologies, but my dinar are resting comfortably in the safe. I to would appreciate my badge. Many thanks
  10. Dr. Robbins = Oh I really don't want to look there! It was bad enough trying to wade through misc. info on IMF website! Thanks for the suggestion, but.....
  11. Can anyone tell me where I can look up - obtain - whatever, the names of currencies that will be in the baskets. i have searched IMF, World Bank, and United Nations sites to find something about currency baskets, revaluations, etc. - just about any words i could think of. I would appreciate anyone letting me know where to find more information. Thank you.
  12. Not just "get involved". Vote VOTE VOTE. Don't just sit there - get involved AND get to the polls. Check voting records. If your representative is not voting as you want - vote for the other guy/gal. If he/she is following what you want, vote for them again. Simple, but obviously not easy as some of our representatives have been there many many terms. Time to retire - before you get too used to receiving donations from Big Business.
  13. As my daughter used to say, if you asked her if we were rich. Yes, we are, we just don't have any money. So true.
  14. I liked this jerk better when he was having "heart surgery" in Iraq - was that just a couple of days ago. Ahhhhh the marvels of modern medicine. Now he is again bomber in chief.
  15. Obviously there has to be elections of some sort coming up "soon" if they are actually discussing the plight of the poorAND the payment of salaries
  16. Oh, thank heavens this event is going to happen "soon". I would have been concerned that we may have to wait!
  17. o.k. If I have this correct, most everything has been signed, sealed and delivered, however now they will form a round table to be sure everyone will be treated equally. They have no experience about equal treatment so why start now? Will check in with you all again next year. May be more accurate and up-to-date info by then.
  18. I thought I read yesterday that this was a done deal. Oh, right, that could have been last week, last month, last year - or 2 years ago... it is always a done deal - Hah. No wonder I lean toward pessimism.
  19. I too have been invited into that resturant. The name is AA and I am so delighted I choose to answer the invitation and show up. Life has never been better.
  20. Back to the subject - pleeeeze! Seriously, perhaps if the US frees up the funds we are holding for Iraq, we can then make a claim for reimbursement pof monies spent on Iraq. Second comment - 45 days - Hah. They have never met a deadline they didn't ignore.
  21. Agreed. What better way to get rid of the opposition than gather them all together where they can all be killed at one time. Then Maliki can finally seat the government he wants. Must be tough of him doing the work of head of 3 governmental major departments plus the head honcho of Iraq.
