To me it is definitely a great thing! Now we wait to see what the cbi and warka do next. I've been told by the CBI on more than a few occasions over the years that Warka is still alive and will be re-opening "after meeting cbi standards and their general meeting". More than doubling their capital has supposedly "met" the cbi standards so now we wait...and God willing we get our money back

sadly Iraqi court decisions seem to have no power behind them and can be easily ignored. I mean it was way back in 2012/2013 (check the year) that the Iraqi courts ruled in Warka Bank's favor against vs the CBI, and ordered the CBI to "compensate and rehabiltate" Warka, and 11/12 years later the CBI has done nada...other than bs warka clients...

I figure it will be pretty quiet cause everyone will still be recovering from all the 20 Dec exchange rate change parties! 😁

Lots of info about Warka in this forum. Take a read at some of it. Basically Warka still exists but no one has had access to their money for more than 11 years, and only God knows if we will ever get it back. Warka and the CBI both bs clients about pretty much everything so not even locals trust them Good reading! NMP

Let us know if they let you do anything! As far as I know local Iraqis can't access their money in Warka Bank so I doubt you'd be able to get any money by closing your account. Other news has them more than doubling their capital recently though so I'm hoping and praying for the best...

Hey shamalamma, as you can tell by the thread there have been no passwords reset for more than a few years now and who knows when there will be. Right now the website is down as they haven't renewed their domain name. The post in this thread from derk_diggler with the message format for requesting a password reset appears to be right...if I remember correctly.

You can check my post dated 15 Nov but it basically says warka has more than doubled their capital... "This was posted today and the document is dated 2/11/2023 according to an Iraqi. Looks like Warka has increased their capital to a little more than $209 million USD (at 1300-1). Here's hoping it's the beginning of re-opening! I included the doc in arabic as well as the translation posted on fb and a google translation I did Here's hoping and praying for the best!" I've always said that when Warka re-opens for business they would have to limit the amount we can withdraw to prevent a run on the bank. Limiting withdrawals to say 5% of a clients account balance per month would give Warka and the CBI 20 months to... but we shall see what happens...hopefully lol Still hopin and prayin God makes it happen...

Hey Steelwire did ya see my post from last wednesday? Looks like Warka has increased their capital to $271 billion! NOW things should get interesting! What more does the CBI want them to do?
