  1. Good luck with the $850 price. If you can get that, then more power to you, but it's becoming alot more difficult now, especially with mailing to strangers. I took mine in. Did a face to face.
  2. Well, I'very been investing in different financial instruments for a very long time now, and I can assure you that nothing I have ever invested in carried the hype, hoopla and cheerleading that the Iraqi dinar has produced. Maybe it's different in your investment world, but that's been my experience. And yes, I agree that everyone should do their own due diligence before investing large sums of money, but people didn't Period. They bought in because friends or relatives were pumping them up to not miss out on a once in a lifetime deal. That hype is still bringin in the " newbies", with the same flushed look on their faces, anticipating the big RV. God help us.
  3. Folks, that's just a generic infomercial trying to get more business. It has nothing to do with the dinars at this time. In fact WF will not accept iraqi dinars for any transactions. Sorry.
  4. What you said is true. That is the conundrum of the dinar speculation. Because it inferred (promised) a millionaire making REVALUE on any given day, people (me included) bought way more dinar than we would have put in a regular investment device (ira) gradually. Hence, far too many dinarians ( me included) pulled a lot of money from their "everyday" funds to rush to buy iraqi dinar. Now that money has been sitting stagnant, without any increase (even a CD would have produced 1-2% per year) with the real threat that iraq could demonize or redenomination at any moment, causing a huge loss of their investment funds. That anxiety, coupled with the huge initial investment, puts the dinar speculation in a category all its own. Even caz should be able to process this fact, but I doubt it. Like I said, what I did in selling a majority of my holdings, was right for ME. I am not endorsing a sell mentality here. I AM endorsing an evaluation mentality for anyone who holds dinar.
  5. Hey, good news! I decided to sell off about half of my dinar holding and used Xchange of America. I highly recommend them if you are transacting in dinar ( buying or selling ). They are professional, honest, and gave me exactly what they promised on the phone. I did the transaction in person, because I am not comfortable with the mailing of dinars and then waiting for the check. I still have some, but it does feel good to be free of much of the anxiety of where iraq is going. I am not recommending what I did to anyone else. It was my decision. But it feeeeeels good!
  6. By the way, Snow, how long have you been invested, if it's not too personal a question. I'm not asking how much you're investing in dinar, that's none of my business, I was just wondering how long you'very been in this thing. I got in in 2012, but had friends who were buying back in 2007.
  7. Dr. CLARK has the same writing style and tenor of one long term dinar pumper - MtGoat. Same exact feel to the phrases. Starts out with all the reasons it can't RV tomorrow, but then ends with a carrot at the end of the stick.....RV in March. Strikingly similar, if not the same person. Probably writing from Philly, where the goat lives, and I'd bet 25,000 Viet dong on the fact that they are one and the same!
  8. Snowglobe, I've read your posts many times. I believe it was you who suggested that I have gone over to the "dark side". I may be mistaken, but I don't think that was complimentary of you. I don't want to get into a "car fight" with you, but I have noticed that you always take caz's side, and caz is very belittling, as you call it, of other people's opinions, if they don't tow the company line. I did not realize that the lobster tank was for anyone who did not believe in tomorrow's big RV. Personally, I don't, and haven't for years. But I do believe there is money to be made on the dinar down the road. That doesn't make me " Darth Vader".
  9. What is your interpretation of the "dark side", Snowglobe? Is it anyone who doesn't march lockstep with your belief? Are you not open to alternative dinar profit pathways, especially in light of SEVEN LONG years of hearing the "RV now" mantra said every single day? What exactly does it take for you to begin to realize there may not be a fabled RV, and maybe, just maybe, we might make some profit over a slower pathway of dinar revalue? I'm not a lobster, but I am a believer in slow growth and profit in the dinar. I guess that makes me an "enemy" ?
  10. Ole Rock makes more sense with his postings than you do, my brother. At least he makes a reasonable presentation of how the world of finance works, not some whimsical fantasy that has run its course that you spout. That's not to say I totally agree with him, cuz I am still holding dinars, but he is far closer to the actual truth of the present circumstances, in my opinion, than you ever have been. How's your golf game?
  11. Hi, caz. It's nice to see you are back to your "glass half empty" approach to the free thinkers down here in the tank. It must require tremendous internal fortitude to still cling to the dead dream of 2007. You are one of the very last to do so, except , of course, the "newbies" who have just entered the dinar investment. I guess we all see reality differently, and that's okay, I guess. But this dinar investment don't look too good right now, does it?
  12. To Snowglobe, "yes", Maggie and I have had some good conversations in the past. I miss her. To LGD, I agree 100% with you about the chasing after money not being God's intent for any of us. I pray that we all find God's peace in our lives, and I promise you it doesn't have anything to do with dinar, or dollars, or Vegas.
  13. I haven't hear from Maggie in quite a while. We've lost some good people over the years, but I never knew Maggie to duck a good scrap, so unless she was banned I can't really see her using a pseudo name. She'd just tell it like it is.. I am somewhat surprised at LGD. You used to be pro-RV all the time, not that I agreed with you, but now it seems you have become glass half empty towards this investment. What gives?
  14. They needed a larger bill. They got it with the 50,000 dinar note. No mystery here. Quit reading conspiracy in every move the CBI does. Now I will say one thing......the new 50,000 dinar note puts us one step closer to the eventual redenomination or zero drop. Let's all hope that doesn't occur because there is not one good thing that would come out of a redenomination, people. I don't care what the gurus say. We would have to trade in our old for new at a very high commission rate.
  15. Look people, the 50,000 dinar note is not something mysterious. It simply allows larger marketplace transactions to occur easier. That's what the CBI said. It ain't no different than if the US treasury introduced a higher denomination bill. Would you freak out? I doubt it. The problem with this dinar thing is that whenever the CBI does something new, all the conspiracy theories start flying around. Just relax. It ain't gonna revalue anytime soon so chill out and enjoy life. I would count owning dinars at just about the bottom rung on my list of God's blessings on my life. The 50,000 dinar note is just a denomination that they didn't have, but needed. I wouldn't run out to buy anymore dinars, whatever the denomination, for awhile, until we see how this economy shakes out.
  16. Watercop, you made a mistake, my brother. Iraq didn't put the peg in place, the US occupational government under Bremer did. It started around 40000 to 1 and gradually reached marketplace equilibrium at the present 1166 to 1 in 2009. It has not budged more than a pip or two in seven years since. Now it looks like it might move to 1240 to 1 officially, but we haven't seen that yet. What Rockfl9 was alluding to was the fallacy of thought which promotes the 100,000% RV of the dinar, making all of us instant millionaires overnight. It's funny.....I used to believe that scenario completely and without reservation. Now when I say it, it just sounds silly, as Rock so eloquently stated.
  17. Rock, I know that you are labeled as a lobster or worse down here, but you have made more sense than anyone I've read except maybe Keeps or Legolus, both of whom have long since gone their own way. I quit believing in the big overnight RV back in about 2013 or so. Snapped right out of that mind set. I had a choice then, to sell and move on or to stick for awhile and see if a gradual revalue would occur. Being stubborn, I hate to lose 50% of my $5,500 investment money. Then came ISIS, and finally the oil dump. It's a two handed smack down for Iraq. The oil is still there, but we are a long way from seeing any revalue, however small, of the dinar, in my humble opinion. But as long as the CBI doesn't redenominate, the currency I hold still has the opportunity to rise in value if things improve overthere. If not, then I am gone, for however much I can get back in US dollars. How and when I make the decision to sell will depend on my level of tolerance for the GOI's keystone cops routine. I do feel intensely sorry for the people who staked their entire financial/retirement plans on the big RV scenario. I think it will end badly for them. Just my opinion, of course. I have been accused by my wife of being a "glass half empty" guy. Maybe so.
  18. I don't believe there are any lobsters left. I haven't heard anyone spouting off about dropping the zeros in a long time. All that is left down here are the free thinkers, those who don't march to the "RV any minute" mantra that is still being spewed by the gurus. Of course they get paid to say those things to gin up sales.
  19. Okay, I'll be the debbie downer here. What I see in this article is the CBI getting ready to move the 1166 official peg rate up to around 1240, which is more realistic to what the dollar and dinar exchange rate is in the marketplace. I do not see any good news in this article, people.
  20. Because they are brand new. Everybody loves new things.
  21. Point taken, Tex. The realities of this life, often tragic in nature, should reconfirm our primary responsibility, and that is to care for one another. May God place His mighty healing hand on Tracy, relieve his pain, and bring peace to your family. God bless.
