  1. It's the weekend girls. pitch a tent so you are there first thing monday morn.
  2. no, when you lock em in a room, thas when they start throwing shoes
  3. it doesn't make sense to me for them to take in (exchange) the 50's for free when they are going to be worthless. The whole business model is based on buying and selling currency and charging a spread. Where are they making their money? Is there something on the other end of this i don't know about?
  4. HaHaHa! that whole scene was priceless! The suspense and build-up..........................!!!
  5. Despite the constant glib assurances that everyone knows it's speculation and a gamble, that isn't the vibe that prevails here. Is their only recourse if things should go bad to jump off of rooftops? Read more: http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/198446-after-4-years-banished-to-the-lopster-tank-for-my-opinion/#ixzz3TcmtIDDu I know what ya mean RV. That vibe has gotten a lot stronger here within the last month or so. Feel better knowing you aren't one of the "rooftop possy clan" and keep an objective mind. That is (was) one of the best things about DV was seeing both sides of the story, interacting and talking about it, and then making your own decisions. Sometimes it's better to just keep our opinions to ourselves i guess.
  6. all I can say is, this article did not clarify anything anymore clearly than any of the others. As you can see, it is clearly open to interpretation.
  7. Yeah, I'll hang in there. It's been 10 years for me, not gonna quit on it now. Just tired this morning and didn't want to hear it this morning. Thanks for the encouragement :-)
  8. New currency models, delete the zeros, currency replacing. Not words I want to hear. I don't think I have the stomach to exchange this currency for a new one, pay a spread, and then wait for things to settle down again enough for them to start talking about increasing the value again. I'm tired of this crap.
  9. Ya, all those Americans trying to exchange all their dinar
  10. SgtFury, are you in stealth mode??? i don't see ya in the list. You musta learnt that from ole sarge
  11. and ^^^ lol ^^^ and another ^^^ lol ^^^ man i'm slow tonight
  12. ya, i knew the canadian penny was still legal tender. As a matter of fact, i have an uncirc. canadian penny that i've been meaning to have checked out. might be a rare one. Anyway, a little bit into the article it said this : "It is not the first country to have done away with its smallest unit of currency: in the past few decades Britain, France, Israel and Spain, among others, have done the same. Some countries, including Australia, Denmark, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden have gone further, successively phasing out several of their smallest coins." I haven't researched any of them yet, but i will see about it tomorrow and see what their outcome was. Maybe some insight there !?!
  13. First off I think most people saying this are saying March or so. Lookup a book called MRI guide and look at previous examples of past countries who have "outmoded" or swapped out currencies and I couldn't find any examples of a country removing a single note or even a couple notes. In every example I could find they would get an entirely different currency and all new notes so find this hard to believe. Read more: http://dinarvets.com/forums/index.php?/topic/198152-exchanged-50-dinar-note/#ixzz3TAvaK5B3 I might have misunderstood what you were getting at rules, but are you saying you couldn't find any examples of countries ditching a denomination? If so, i found this article right off the top: http://www.economist.com/blogs/newsbook/2013/02/economist-explains-why-canada-killed-penny If i misunderstood you, my apologies
  14. well, i wasn't going to say that because, your right, i don't want to hear it. unfortunately it's the only thing that does make sense right now. I just hope there is another plan. Removing the 50's was unexpected and imo unnecessary at this time, so there is more to it than just this.
  15. none of this makes sense with their latest move to remove the 50. If they were gonna RV to say 1:1, why not remove the highest 3 denoms and just move the decemal on the monetary value and add some lower denoms. done deal. If they were gonna lop, they would basically have to issue all new denominations, so again, why remove the 50 now. If they were gonna float, i wouldn't think you would remove your lowest denom. as it will just increase in value so that it's impossible to make change on the streets. I give up............just doesn't make sense
  16. You just spoke about the concerns that we all have wondered about for a while now. All of what you said is a real possibility. They could do this to all the existing currency to weed out counterfeiting and foreign speculators. Lord knows it would remove a huge headache for them.At this point, the best thing we can hope for is lower denominations to be released and float or RV. But if they were going to do that.........why pull in the 50's to begin with? Only time will tell.
