The FED loans it's good out to bullion banks . Those banks use a fractional banking system and loan that same gold 9 times.

But it's all paper gold. The gold never leaves the Feds vaults. Dirty book keeping. The FED never account for the loaned paper gold so it's basically on their books twice. I remember some politician wanting an audit done on the Fed recently. That got shutdown in a hurry. IMO the quantities are off by a large amount and any audit that proves this would kill the USD
