Their oil infrastructure has fallen in to poor shape so their oil production will not keep up with demand.
They will need outside help/money to bring it up to speed, so to speak.
Not many are going to invest if they suspect the government will nationalize the oil fields and lock out investing companies.

This is fine for the workers but bad news for those of us that want a wall/fence to protect the southern border.

This is where you are confused. There is no give (except to the illegal immigrants crashing our borders or the ones flown in on our planes) when it comes to the Dems.
They want the Repubs to give. They will tell their constituents what they want hear to get elected then quietly vote to give away things that were hard fought for.
I certainly don't want any former presidents to get involved in running the country. They had their chance and now it is time for them to ride off into the sunset,
retired and then to quietly die and let God decide if they were any good.

If they get ordered back to their jobs and don't go then they should forfeit their pay for that time.
Banks, mortgage and loan companies have all said they will work with the furloughed people.
I went through a state budget crisis once and I contacted everybody I owed money to. 99% worked with me.
I got paid once a month but I picked up a second job that helped out a lot. When the shutdown ended
I kept working the 2nd job to help pay off the debt I owed. No food stamp, EBT or soup kitchens for us.

I have a solution.... Make the people come to Washington and do their deposition.
Don't want to come? Arrest their a** and bring them anyway.
Don't want to testify? Hold them in contempt and arrest them.
Don't want to submit files and such? Go in to their offices and home and get it.
Don't want to cooperate ? Charge them with contempt.
Now of course the Republicans did not have the b*lls to do this and were afraid but the Democrats will run with everything they can to
sling enough cr*p on the wall that it will look messy and people will be stupid and not see the writing on the wall. They will vote their sovereignty away and then cry when it does not go well for them.

Holding something as "leverage" only works if the person you are attempting to "leverage" is in a position to prevent
the arrest and lock up of said person holding the "leverage". Clinton is in no position in the government to hold any power.
If she "convinces" someone in the DOJ to stop this from happening then we have another traitor to find and lockup.
