  1. Despite President Barack Obama’s consistent emphasis on bringing people together, what have I been missing?..... that sentence is as far as I had to read to know whatever else was written would be nonsense.
  2. Cool is a bit of an understatement... Downright cold may be more appropriate. especially if you hit the big one,Lake Superior.
  3. Interesting article, JonJon... Being conservative, I tend to vote GOP and this speaks to me in that it shows why vets should support GOP, however where I part from the narrative herein is in the last few lines where the author indicates that Dems are more likely to support vets that are in need due to their service... They have real needs and have earned our support and every penny that we can send their way. Sadly, to many including some of the vets themselves, this money paid to disabled vets is considered to be "handouts". I contend that it is not a handout, but well earned and deserved by those among us that paid a heavy price in our name. I hope that the GOP and more Americans can get on board in doing the right thing by our vets and not considering these payouts as "handouts".
  4. What a putz.... No one can tell you exactly how much the additional burdens will cost a small biz owner from this point, however what we all can see clearly from this point is costs are already going up in ways that no one predicted. The bigger point is that many businesses will go out of business thereby cutting their employees loose and putting them into the ever growing list of those who recieve and away from those who produce. Any way I look at it, less people producing and taking risk with their post tax money means less taxable income for greedy govt and a continuing need to raise taxes and fees.
  5. Sorry to butt in here, but Romney can lay folks off if he employs anyone at his household.... Gardeners, housekeepers, etc. what's more, it is not Romney that Sandstorm was referring to... I am a small business owner that employs people that Biden would call the middle class. My industry has rates that I am hard pressed to increase for the higher rates and expenses that Obamacare will impact. I cannot raise prices to keep my profit margin intact. as my costs of employment increase due to benefit cost increases, I cannot make it up. as I continue paying higher costs and taxes, my salary necessarily decreases to the point that in order for me to make what I deserve to earn for the risk I take to be an employer, I eventually have to lay off workers further hurting his precious entitled class of tax payers. in other words, Sandstorm is speaking about me.
  6. No, sorry, the fact that the AG is investigating does not prove anything of the sort. If the AG chooses to investigate what I ate for lunch, so be it, but that does not prove that anyone has done anything illegal. It doesn't even prove that the AG is a knucklehead. It simply shows us that the AG has nothing better to do.
  7. ....oops.... I just threw up a little... what no one seems to want to address is that sometimes a few jobs need to be cut in order to save the majority of the rest and to keep a company profitable and therefore operating. The brilliant folks who argue that Romney is/was a jobs killer don't seem to want to face the fact that without profit, no job would exist.
  8. I can fully support your hypothesis as this is what my wife and I are attempting to figure out now- how do we make the employees into contractors... unfortunately, it is not as simple as just switching their status... if I remember correctly, I am probably better off (as the employer) in just letting everyone go and starting fresh with new contractors. Our accountant stated something to the effect that the IRS looks at such a move as a way to avoid taxes if I simply switch the current staff status to Sub Contractor. Rock and a hard place...
  9. I realize that this "piece" is attempting to show how mean Romney is and how terrible GOP plans are in general, but I find it funny in the first few paragraphs when the author states by way of comparison, Obama's plan would leave some 27.1 Million Americans without coverage... and I thought that the AFC was rammed down our throats in order to get everyone covered.
  10. Ummmmmm... I suspect that you have misread this chat... I did not see where anyone suggested that you would be paid more for your dinar by simply being VIP. Maybe I missed something and if so, I apologize. IClearly I missed it first time... As stated above... Oooops, I apologize for my crappy reading.
  11. Especially if you're rich!
  12. "95 percent of the national debt is due to Republican policies which have bankrupted the country, while claiming fiscal responsibility," charged Richie. CCC- Classic Clueless Commentary " Must .... keep.... head... planted... firmly... in... my...___"
  13. A simple google search shows nowata, OK exists
  14. That's a stretch... no one is attempting to stop Carrello from posting or having an opinion... but freedom of speech works both ways, if you do not like the commentary after a post, do not read it. I have been following this site for far longer than I have been a registered user and have never seen someone tell a democrat that freedom of speech does not apply to them. I'm sure that if you have evidence to the contrary, you will prove me wrong.
  15. It is clear to me that the author or creator of this list has way too much time on their hands... I suppose that maybe the author/creator is one of those 8+% of Americans that has been left unemployed by this administrations policies. how about using your time and efforts to get a new job instead of polishing turds.
  16. Nonsense. The author has it exactly backwards. But seeing as how he or she attended a Communist Party school, I might expect no less of them. Here's an idea.... get the government out of our way and off the small business persons back and the jobs that once were prevalent will start to come back. Too much government regulation and intervention sucks money out of the private sector in order to pay for "government work" programs that create temporary jobs and more reliance on "the man." If you want the US to turn into Greece, Italy or most any nation in Europe, then subscribe to this nonsense. If you desire to have the American population at work and achieving great things again, then run from this author's thought process.
  17. Got a link to that article? I suspect your answer is that there is no such thing occuring right now... Hope I'm wrong
  18. If alot of us are leary about the dollar, and some about gold, has anyone thought about safe alternatives to invest in should we get our windfall? ... I know you all have. Anyone want to share some idea's? In my best Homer Simpson voice.......Beer
  19. However, Keep made a good point in another thread (the parliament 3 zero one) where he states they are still shipping dinar to the US for us speculators to buy by the pallet... I'm not attempting to hold you accountable for Keep's commentary, but find it interesting that someone can just make a claim like this (with no links to support it) and we are supposed to accept it as being true... Who says that Iraq is "still shipping dinar... by the pallet?" I'm not sure that what is being sold has not been here in US for years and is just recirculating from folks who bought too much or now have to sell and move on. NO ONE has documented proof of this claim either way do they?
  20. This story is only one side of the coin. The story only expresses the view of the company owner and his rights. What about the rights of the employee's? That's a great point.... the employees have the right to work for their employer (with all of his beliefs) and purchase their own contraception like most humans do, or go somewhere that they can "earn" contraception through government mandated bs
  21. Thanks Noah Sr, for bringing this as our media is largely asleep. My thanks and prayers to all our men overseas.
  22. My prayers for Shadow, Nallie and you, dear Carlablum... It matters not which day our beloved pets choose to go, they will forever be alive in your heart. A very bittersweet day for you to be sure, congratulations to you on 5 years. Nallie will grieve her loss just like you do and the loss of appetite is normal (though a bit disconcerting for you). Please be sure that she continues to take on water and if her gums become dry for lack of water, take her to your vet for hydration. Thanks for your prayer request and sharing photo of your beautiful babies. With love and prayers...
  23. Make the time to watch this video... it's well worth the time, and cliff notes will not do you any good. I am not a scientist, and have not done all the research that I want to do on GMOs and other beastly "food" products, but I find it highly suspicious that maladies such as Autism have risen while the use of GMOs have also gone up... anyone think that there is a correlation?
