I have learned so much about so many things from investing in the dinar. My family is going to be mightily surprised when I finally start trading on the ISX. The little engine that could Honestly, I never would have gotten to understand so much about the ME and macroeconomics. The icing on the cake will be when the dinar rises in value. Parenting taught me patience but emptied my wallet in the process. What a dream it will be the the next thing that taught me patience was something that one day is going to fill my wallet!! Go RV

Easeandpeace Found this very interesting that Iraq and India are figuring out the currency thing as I know personally of an Indian friend that had to go through a very convoluted process to buy his dinar, he could not buy it in India so now it seems as if the two countries are acknowledging the dinar as tradable. I find this encouraging for the idea of moving towards IQD being internationally traded. Bread a $100 a loaf...oh please lord no....but come on you middle agers who ever thought we would see the day that bread would be as expensive as it is today? The hard thing is that prices have risen so much while incomes have flat lined for several decades. GO RV....

:blink: I would really appreciate knowing what exactly it means that they are going to liquidate warka as per article today. can someone explain this to me? We have until 12/31/12 to do what? Is the little investor covered there? Are there banking laws that have been passed to protect the small investor? I somehow thought guardianship by the CBI would cover whatever it was that happened at Warka. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance to anyone who can really respond to this.

I am in 110% agreement with you on this! It is going to be very interesting to see if he completes his objective and he is definitely a full on puppet of Iran!! The part I just can't make out in all of this is Talabani could have stopped this months ago and he chose not to...and now more stalling. Talabani seemed to be caring for a united Iraq and I am so disappointed he has not grown a set a put Maliki out. Disheartening to see how far Maliki has gotten with his agenda. A very accurate assessment of just how far Maliki has disrupted the process. Will Majority government be the way as Erbil just seems to have withered on the vine. Time is telling "in the coming days"..."soon"...have we ever seen anything implemented?? Not since I have been following this....So, will Allawi and Barzani now take a final stab at stopping this guy?? May truly be a day late and many dinar short

Time to get Talabani to No Confidence Maliki and get on with a functioning government! Maliki is a puppet of Iran and until that is stopped this is not going in the right direction!!

Steveflex, my understanding is this is not related to the passing of the HCL. Central government can pay the oil companies without the HCL passing which is what they have agreed to do and what the article verifies that the council of Ministers has approved. My understanding is tomorrow the three presidencies are going to get together and attempt to agree to a version of the HCL that will be submitted on to vote on by the ministers ASAP. So, there is a TON of pressure from many places now to pass the HCL but there has not been a final version submitted to vote on yet. Trinity or anyone else would you like to weigh in on that??

Yes, I watched this movie several years ago and it is fantastic. As I am in the mental health field I love that it compares the corportation to the DSM-IV-R's criteria of a sociopath if I remember correctly...was that the diagnosis? Have you watched "The Inside Job"? That is recent and awesome as well as it details in a way the layman can understand the credit swap nightmare and how we all got into this horrid place post 2008.

I am with Goldie and BrokeNoMore...Warka went from a small bank to one of the most modern and well established banks and the CBI stepping in because that is EXACTLY the kind of forward movement they need to have so that Iraqis will enter the 21st century and use banks. We are golden here...I am glad I am invested in all ways. Do the happy dance every single day because soon you are going to do the millionaire happy dance!! We are a lucky lot!! Praise abundance and all things good and magical in life...and yep I am usually a curmudgeon but seriously folks this one is a no brainer!! Mr. Issa has spoken directly to a pal of mine and he ain't going anywhere...thank the lord because God knows who else would even respond to us at that bank!!!!
