i see .. but everything has a start point of value .. that is 1 monetary unit ... that monetary unit happens to be a one dollar bill .....the imf is located in washington dc ..
no matter what iraq does to its currency its value will be based off of a single monetary unit... as it changes so does the purchasing power.... now if it gradually goes up .. i see your point ... ... a guy making a million dinars a month (1000 bucks)...changing tires .. what are they going to do ... cut his pay as the dinar increases...... or just let him have corvettes ...boats ,,, country homes ..as it floats up to even exchange one dollar for one dinar.. or will they pay him a million dollars a month to change tires at the local tire shop..

theres so many fils in a dinar .. and so many dinars to make a dollar .. the dollar equals one monatary unit at the imf .. everything goes off of that .. the dollar is the standard .. one monetary unit ... period
the dinar is 1000 fills and if it is 1166 dinars to equal one dollar thats 1,166,000 fils to make one dollar .. you cant change that ... no matter what you do ..its simple division and or multiplication .. iraq will not be changing anything in the international monetary fund .. its all said and done .. theres only one way to increase its value ,,, condense them down by removing zeros .. they can add to their money supply by the same rules that apply to everyone else within the monetary system .. no one gets special privligages .. unless theres something we are all not aware of ... and this is what the speculation is all about .. we are hoping they come out and reset the rate against the dollar along with this zero deletion thing ... if their rates are doubled and then they remove 3 zeros ,, the dinar would be worth 2 dollars after the deletion .. .. i got to go to work now so .. ill read this again after midnight

You are right that the reverse split is the same as lifting the zeros...No change in value ..Just the number of stock certificates. OK for things that stay in-country.
But doubling the exchange rate in the example brings in half the revenue , and doubles the cost of the outgo..
why would they continue to pay the policeman 1 million dinars if the value is doubled ... they would pay him 500,000 dinars per month.. which would be worth the same 850 dollars per month . and the flour would be half ,, not doubled ...only 500,000 .. its backwards upside down inside out thinking .. use common sense .. if it sounds to good to be true it probably is not true..

I'm puttting this in the LOP section just to get a free discussion without setting off any alarms!
I have been wracking the brain trying to figure out how it would play out.
suppose10 bbl of oil brings in $850 and translates to 1M IQD in todays market
also, 1 ton of imported wheat flour costs $850 and a policeman is paid 1M IQD per month.
NOW double the exchange rate to .00170.
The 10 bbls of oil is still $850 but converts to only .5 M IQD !
If they continue to pay the policeman 1m IQD /mo. they must lay off 1/2 of the force or the budget for police is doubled.!
The ton of flour is still $850 but now costs the baker 2M IQD so he must double the price of bread!
Would this be a good scenario for the iraqi citizen?

theres people in iraq working in a deli making 6 million dinars a year .. what if it rvs dollar per dinar .. do ya think they will get paid 6 million dollars a year ?
everything changes .. if you never owned any stocks or traded stocks ,, this may be hard to under stand ...they have whats called a reverse split in the stock market .. think of each share of stock as a dinar
if you 0wned 100,000 shares of stock .. worth 50.000 dollars .. or 50 cents each .. and they need their stock price to increase to 1 dollar to stay listed on the nasdaq...... which is a requirement by the way .. if it goes below a dollar you only got so much time to get the value up or your kicked out of the nasdaq .. ...
any way they need to raise the value .. so what they often do .. is have a rs .. reverse split .. and your 100,000 shares will turn into say 10,000 shares ,,, but now they are worth 5 dollars for each share ...no change in nominal value .. its still worth 50,000 dollars but its condensed into 10,000 shares from 50,000 shares ..
this is what iraq is saying they are doing ...
rasing the value .. but no nominal change in value .. but each dinar will be worth more ..
you will give them 1000 current dinars for one new dinar ... there by raising the value of the dinar ...
iraq is in now way pre anouncing a rv with these zero deletion storys ...its a no gain .. no loss exchange
now im not saying this is what will be done in the end ... but this is what iraq has been publishing

but if you were making 5 million dinars a year .. worth 5000 dollars... you will be working for 5,000 new dinars a year worth 5000 dollars ......no change in nominal value of what you were getting to what you will be getting ..its that simple .. its called devision.. gusinta.. 1 gusinta 2 .....2 times ,,,2 gusinta 6 ....3 times .

to me this could still be surounded with propaganda... even if its a half truth .. say they dont do exactly what they are saying .. maybe they at the last minute say they had three plans to decide on .. one being deleting one zero .. and end up with 2.5 trillion dinars worth a dollar each ....giving us 100 grand per million
next scenario .. delete 2 zeros and end up with 250 billion dinars .. or a one cent rv ... or even ...250 billion dinars worth 4 dollars giving them a trillion dollars worth..giving us 10 grand per penny or 10 thousand to 40 thousand per milion...... or say 3 dollar dinar ... 250 billion times 3 equals 750 billion ...
i really dont see an iraqi economy with 25 billion dinars and a 100 billion govt budget......they say iraqs govt budget will be 20% of their gross economy... a hundred billion govt budget being 20% would mean iraq would have a 2 trillion net worth .....
to me these figures dont add up .. with deleting 3 zeros and the dinar equaling a dollar ..25 billion dinars would equal 1000 dollars per citizen with 25 million iraqis ... they say their gdp per capita is 9000 dollars per year .. thats more inline with the 250 billion figure ,, excluding govt activities .. if each iraq saves 1000 dinars .. all the money would be gone .... this 25 billion thing is not adding up

germanys money came back .. although slowly . mainly because we were still under the gold standard to some extent .. this monetary thing has grown tremendously since... money can be created on a promise .. or agreement .. if everyone holds up their end of the bargan .. things work out .. but things can and will turn south on the first indication of foul play .....

If there was "disclosure" and a list of LOPsters were available (meaning that the list is not held in an archive vault 3 floors beneath the building's surface with a warning sign on the door "Beware of the Leopard").
If someone were to contact a LOPster, then the LOPster would have the opportunity before them to "warn people". The felt need would be met.

Leesburg, can you tell us why have you NOT been telling people about the Iraqi Dinar lately?
at first when i bought my dinars in 2005 .. i was really thinking this was going to be a rv .. but as the war drew down and nothing happened i felt it was a little late in the game ... and after all the talk of the rv taking place in june 2011 and it didnt happen .. i got discouraged .. now since then with all the zero deletion and new currency coming out .. i cant intelligently explain why it might rv .. so .. i just leave it up to people to find this on there own if they are interested .. .. i still think theres alot of propaganda surrounding this investment . and theres a good possibility that we may make a significant gain .. ..minimum break even .. ,, with a posibility of .. a 3 dollar dinar .... with a 3 zero deletion .. as well as the pipe dream of even dolar for dinar straight rv .. but .. i still wont silence thosewho dont think they will profit .. i just seek their answers as to why they think this ...... i still believe its all speculation ..disreguarding the deletion storys as they are written as propaganda .. but who knows .. the answer is no one .. except shabibbi .. .. thats what i think ...only he knows .. its all logged on his personal computer somewhere .. some day he will make his presentation at the imf .. and everything will be in order .. and should pass with flyingcolors .. what ever it is

maybe there is needs to be a formal definition of lopster before you decide whether it is offensive or not,
I consider anyone who is continuously preaching negative information on a Dinar speculation forum that the same investment has little or no chance of paying off significantly due to the fact they personally have interpreted the information available and believe that they are one of the few in sole possession of the truth and eventual outcome will be a lop. A lopster to me is someone who does not believe in this investment at all yet continues to stay active in the forum under the guise of protecting others from hurting themselves financially.
Most of the investors here are adult age and have a brain to think with, everyone who has been here at any length of time knows that there is no 100% guarantee that the currency will RV, knows that it is speculative, knows not to believe Okie or the other misguiding gurus, but also knows not to believe everything the media throws at them.
Lopsters are full of gloom and doom and at every turn they are ready to try and persuade the forum that they are right and the rest of us are dumb and dumber for investing in a speculative currency.
If that fits any members in this forum, I consider them a lopster, is it offensive? If the claw fits, wear it.

yes this is true .. it was this thread that i was corrected by a mod .. and i agree with that mod .. i should not of done that .. and im in agreement with the rule of no name calling .. this is why i started this thread
the guy was being attacked continously for his speculative opinion by many .. i was wrong for sticking up for him in that manner

I agree, the name calling is ridiculous. But Lopster isn't offensive. What is offensive is when a lopster claims that a none who doesn't believe a lop scenario is stupid, lacks common sense, etc. Those things are said frequently in LOP land.
But regardless, just relax, dude. This thread is a little dramatic. life's too short to be stirred up over being called a silly name.
i agree calm down .. its just a simple analogy .. when the mods come to your posting and correct you ,, for something thats being done by many others and over looking the many others .. you may feel singled out .. ..
