  2. Slowly but surely our rights have been stripped away. How much more will the silent majority stand for! It's up to us to take our country back from these knuckle heads. The founders had it right. President George Washington Was a GREAT man! "A hundred thousand men, coming one after another, cannot move a Ton weight; but the united strength of 50 would transport it with ease." GEORGE WASHINGTON, letter to Dr. William Gordon, Jul. 8, 1783
  3. Is there a doughnut shop nearby?

Sorry Blanche but its the truth On the other hand I'm sure you make decent money off your site "Capital as such is not evil; it is its wrong use that is evil. Capital in some form or other will always be needed." MOHANDAS GANDHI, Harijan, Jul. 28, 1940 GO SHABS
  5. The Post office is closed too and I won't be getting my dinar order on Monday. “America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.” ― Abraham Lincoln “A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government” ― George Washington
  6. Thanks for your insight on this. I really appreciate your work. Have a great weekend. I have a good friend , retired that was a Chase bank director for foreign transactions, ( not a bank story ) She was at the World trade when it was car bombed years ago ( off topic ) I asked her point blank. How does the global banking system really work, as it all seems so confusing? I know this was a very general question, She said she had rules to play by and directives given to her. Her answer after 30 years of experience was that she really did not know. BTW she has 250 K of IQD
  7. Does the World bank get involved in the budgets of all countries? Go Shabs
  8. Abstract Government spending on infrastructure has recently increased sharply in many emerging-market economies. This paper examines the mechanism through which public infrastructure spending affects the dynamics of the real exchange rate. Using a two-sector dependent open economy model with intersectoral adjustment costs, we show that government spending generates a nonmonotonic U-shaped adjustment path for the real exchange rate with sharp intertemporal tradeoffs. The effect of government spending on the real exchange rate depends critically on (i) the composition of public spending, (ii) the underlying financing policy, (iii) the intensity of private capital in production, and (iv) the relative productivity of public infrastructure. In deriving these results, the model also identifies conditions under which the predictions of the neoclassical open economy model can be reconciled with empirical regularities, namely the intertemporal relationship between government spending, private consumption, and the real exchange rate. http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/cat/longres.aspx?sk=25733.0 Full free text is 40 pages that I have NO clue what it means
  9. 50 Foreign Companies Pursued over Oil-for-Food Program Posted on 17 February 2012. Tags: Corruption, oil for food, United Nations 150 Foreign Companies Pursued over Oil-for-Food Program Fadel Mohammed, legal adviser to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, has said that the Iraqi government is currently pursuing more than 150 foreign companies accused of corruption in the UN’s Oil-for-Food program. AKnews reports that the government is determined to bring these companies to justice, adding that there are several other companies under investigation. The Oil-for-Food Program was instituted to relieve the suffering of civilians as the result of the UN sanctions on Iraq following Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in August 1990. Over $65 billion worth of Iraqi oil was sold on the world market during the program. About $46 billion of these funds were intended to provide for the humanitarian needs of Iraqi people such as food and medicine in the context of international economic sanctions. Throughout its existence, the program was dogged by accusations that some of its profits were unlawfully diverted to the government of Iraq and to UN officials. These accusations were made in many countries, including the US and Norway. Contracts to sell Iraq humanitarian goods through the Oil-for-Food Program were allegedly given to companies and individuals based on their willingness to kick back a certain percentage of the contract profits to the Iraqi regime. Companies that sold commodities via the Oil-for-Food Program were said to be overcharging by up to 10%, with part of the overcharged amount being diverted into private bank accounts for Saddam Hussein and other regime officials and the other part being kept by the supplier. International aid organizations reported that in the course of the program, more than 500,000 Iraqi children died of malnutrition because of the mishandling of funds. 10. 184 % is a nice bump. More trading means more confidence. Never really looked at these numbers and they seem low to me. But I'm just a lowly blue collar guy who happens to own dinars. A whole lot of them!!! Thanks for the post Yota See you at the Vegas trip GO SHABS!
  11. So they will have a 1/2 dinar and 1/4 dinar coin Makes since at 1-1 for these coins But 1 dinar = 1000 filis If it were to RV at 1 dinar equals 10 USD these filis would be worth a penny. and a dirham would be a dime Why would they need a coin thats worth 1000 th of a dinar? What am I missing here? 1 Bahraini dinar = 1000 fulūs (or 1 filis = 1/1000 Bahraini dinars) 1 Iraqi dinar = 1000 fulūs 1 Jordanian dinar = 1000 fulūs 1 Kuwaiti dinar = 1000 fulūs 1 United Arab Emirates dirham = 100 fulūs 1 Yemeni rial = 100 fulūs http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fils_(currency) The currency units include: The Moroccan dirham The United Arab Emirates dirham 1/100 of the Iraqi Dinar 1/1000 of the Libyan dinar 1/100 of the Qatari riyal 1/10 of the Jordanian dinar The dirham, spelt 'diram,' is 1/100 of the Tajikistani somoni. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dirham

  14. I am not a economic major 4 sure. I would cash in a note or two just to pay some bills. Downtown is close by so if I have to I would drive. Not a bank story but my Chase manager that i've known for years says that they have a book on all foreign currencies. If you take Euros in they verify on the spot. He does believe gthis is a scam but if it does happen does not see why they would not be handled the same way. Who knows what the bank rules will be on the dinar? After that I'm going to listen to Adam. VIP is the way to go for all of us economic illiterates. Figuring the amounts we have invested , seems prudent to follow the advice of people that have studied this for years and years. I have a Corp and LLC in California and figure they will play a part in this plan, No Off shore accounts yet but when this happens I will listen to what the boss man says. Thanks for the post and thanks Dinar Vets
  15. Thought i would throw the UN link on this one. 15 February 2012 Secretary-General SG/SM/14108 IK/645 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Department of Public Information • News and Media Division • New York Recalling Deadline Extension, Secretary-General Calls for Start of Relocation from Iraq’s Camp Ashraf without Further Delay The following statement was issued today by the Spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon: The Secretary-General continues to closely follow the situation in Camp Ashraf. Over the past few months, the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), under the leadership of his Special Representative, Martin Kobler, and in close cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the European Union, the United States and other interested Member States, has been tirelessly working as an impartial facilitator to promote a peaceful resolution of this issue, within the framework of UNAMI’s humanitarian mandate. At the request of the Secretary-General, the Government of Iraq extended its deadline to close Camp Ashraf from 31 December 2011 to 30 April 2012. The Memorandum of Understanding signed on 25 December 2011 between the United Nations and the Government of Iraq has laid the foundation for a peaceful and durable solution, respecting both the sovereignty of Iraq and meeting Iraq’s international humanitarian and human rights obligations. The Secretary-General acknowledges the efforts of the Government of Iraq to prepare the temporary transit location to host the residents and allow UNHCR to undertake refugee status determination. On 31 January 2012, UNHCR confirmed that the infrastructure and facilities at the temporary transit location are in accordance with the international humanitarian standards stipulated in the Memorandum of Understanding. The Secretary-General believes that the time has come to start the relocation process without further delay. He urges the Iraqi authorities and the residents of Camp Ashraf to continue to cooperate and complete the process in a peaceful manner. The Secretary-General reiterates that the Government of Iraq bears the primary responsibility for the security and the welfare of the residents of Camp Ashraf. At the same time, the residents of Camp Ashraf also bear a responsibility to abide by the laws of Iraq. Any provocation or violence must be avoided and would be unacceptable. The Secretary-General reiterates his call to Member States to contribute to a durable solution by demonstrating their readiness to accept eligible residents of Camp Ashraf who wish to resettle in third countries. The Secretary-General stresses that the United Nations remains strongly committed to continue to do its utmost to facilitate a peaceful and durable solution. http://www.un.org/News/Press/docs//2012/sgsm14108.doc.htm

  21. When I got involved in this I was told to look at the RESOURCES Iraq has to offer the world. I listened to this hype and soon realized this was way more involved than just resources. It sure is hard to deny that they have plenty to offer the World economy Articles every day regarding, Oil, Gas, Minerals, manufactoring and agriculture. This will surely increase their GDP per capita. These numbers are still low compared to neighboring countries. The Future of Iraq project realizes that they must empower ( enrich) the people of Iraq for democratic growth. It's said how we are building Capitolism in Iraq and tearing it down here at home. Foster Wheeler reaches milestone in Iraq Published: Feb. 13, 2012 at 8:49 AM ZUG, Switzerland, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- A crude oil expansion project planned for Iraq would increase the country's export potential by almost 2 million barrels per day, Foster Wheeler announced. Foster Wheeler, an engineering company with headquarters in Switzerland, announced it took a "significant" step with a crude oil export expansion project in Iraq. The company said its project, a joint effort with the country's South Oil Co. and the Ministry of Oil, would increase the crude oil export capacity by 1.8 million barrels per day. The project, Foster Wheeler said, achieved its "first oil ready for start-up" milestone. "Achievement of this milestone represents the start of the final commissioning activities leading to readiness of the facilities to load first oil cargo onto a tanker for export," the company added. The International Energy Agency in December estimated crude oil production from Iraq is on pace to reach an average of 4.36 million bpd by 2016. SOC Director General Dheyaa Jafaar Hyjam said Foster Wheeler's developments would position Iraq at "its rightful place as a world-class oil producer." An IEA report, however, warns of growing political instability could dampen oil expectations in Iraq now that U.S. military forces have formally ended their mission there.
