So, Warka is in receivership? Any chance that we'll get our invested money out of the accounts? Is anyone following this? Yikes, why would we want to open a Warka then, if they are in receivership?

What is the interest rate that Warka pays?

So, if I transfer my Warka Dinar to USD, does that create a taxable event at that moment? I'm sure that either Warka reports to IRS, OR transactions are discoverable by IRS. Want to do the right thing, of course.

Yeah... sigh... live and learn, eh? They didn't really have a complete enough form for this type of transfer. Also, the weird thing was that they had a pull down menu with Warka Bank in Iraq as a direct wire (instead of Commerzbank as intermediary). I would have loved to try it, but there's got to be a reason that Warka uses Commerzbank, so I just wanted to follow the orders! Is anyone getting money OUT of Warka? Anyone have a debit or credit card?

That's great when it worked well for you - my money is likely floating somewhere in Germany not knowing where to go... the BofA wire transfer process didn't have enough spaces for all the information that Mr. Issa wanted in there. I just pray that Warka can contact Commerzbank and find the money and get it to my IQD account before this baby RV's. Why would I want that money in Warka post RV w/o the value of the exchange?

Yes, I also emailed Mr. Nassar in the wire transfer dept. and the SWIFT email address. We shall see - you'd think that they would email back to say "we don't have any confirmation yet, it takes awhile longer). Then again, I'm probably being paranoid and impatient and, after all, we're talking about Iraq! (An Iraqi attorney friend of mine went to the Middle East and family introduced him to a man. The man invited him to his home to enjoy good food, friendly discussion, etc. The man was in management for the electric company. The man received a phone call saying that the power had gone out in a vast area and he was needed to come and help restore the power for all these many people. My bank says the transfer completed same day (I paid same day transfer fee). No Mr. Issa! No Warka personnel responding! I'm a little nervous about it because someone in Iraq said that Warka was implicated in a multi-billion dollar misappropriation of funds, etc. Great info after I've sent my money over there! Person said that I'd never get money out of Warka and Warka was not auth. to invest presently. Is this TRUE? People on this board have been having great service through Warka, it seems. Exactly - and I've heard that we will loan them money to cash people out. I've encountered so many who don't realize that they have to have USD to exchange for Dinar when people cash out. As someone has already written, the Dinar was created to print wealth. It's the solution to a global enigma. Americans and citizens of the world have paid through their noses to fund all of these wars and the military industrial complex since the time we were born. We have not had a decent standard of living because of it (it takes multiple persons in most families for them to live well). You hit this one right! Go RV!

happy new year back to work blah blah blah...and back to the grind after holiday. i really figured something would have happened over this past week. delay is the order of the day... also, i know an Iraqi-born, attorney in the USA. he related a story of when he was visiting the Middle East, not sure if it was Damascus or Lebanon. anyway, through family/friends, he met the acquaintance of a man and was invited into his home. the man's employment was with the power company. the man received a call that the power was out in a large area, and the man told the people that he could not come that day - that he was entertaining a guest in his home. this is the Middle Eastern attitude (as well as other countries, like Italy, "domani, domani"). everything moves slow. especially progress.

OMG... safety deposit boxes are known to be the least safe places in the world! I would only put items in there that I WANTED someone to find...like a copy of my Will. Never anything valuable because only YOU can attest to the fact of what you placed in there. Other than that, anyone can steal it and the govt. can definitely nab it. Sorry to be negative, just worry and get all motherly when I hear this. Gulp!
