  1. I have always thought that it makes the most sense to coincide the changing of the value of their currency with execution of a new budget. Changing value mid budget season creates some potential adjustment nightmares for them IMHO
  2. Not a bad way to look at it except that there is a high possibility that he would completely alienate the Shi'ites which is the largest group of people. Mahdi keeps them in the picture. But I would love to hear other's thoughts on that idea.
  3. Yes they "technically" can RV without being released from Chap. VII. Yes they can RV "technically" without the GOI being seated. However the likelihood of that happening is very small. Wisdom would say that they need to seat the GOI and that Chap. VII and RV will happen very quickly after - maybe even simultaneously.
  4. That was part of an editorial that was written a few months ago. It was an economics professor proposing why it was valuable to raise the currency's value. this was one of 3 or 4 points I think. it has been a while. He said that if they raise the currency value, they would lower violence this way.
  5. several things to think about... first, if they rv too low, those who have the power to buy up a bunch (hedgefunds, etc.) will slaughter the dinar. Investors make up very little of the over all picture. those who run the major funds will buy massive amounts at anything less that $2 simply on speculation alone. Second, go to Bank of America's currency exchange sight. the Kuwait Dinar is listed and $3.87. one click proves that this isn't a joke. it is a real rate. i don't think shabbs is worried too much about Iraqi pride. He knows that if the rate is not carefully released and moderately high, the dinar will be bought up in massive quantities at the expense of future value.
  6. Also, the Warka account deals with the fear of an "in country" revalue.
  7. The idea is that in the case of opening a Warka account, you are not exchanging IQD for USD, you are exchanging IQD for IQD. So your money will continue to value up at the rate that all dinar does, you still have your money in IQD, but you have taken care of the large denomination problem. Personally, I think there are too many ways to make money to hold the dinars very long. After watching Iraq over the last few months, I am out at the first opportunity. I will let other investments continue to grow my money. They may come out a little lower than you want, but I am not sure they will make it to full value before they fall apart. Just my thought.
  8. And they aren't looking for all of it, just one section is all they want to continue.
  9. As I understand it, they would be able to get sued if they lift chapter 7 because of resolution 1859 going away. that is a big concern for them it is a protection against other countries.

But the way you end unemployment is to offer jobs, not necessarily an RV
