Okay, which one makes more sense? #1. Remove the 000 notes, print a new currency system costing hundreds of millions, change the value to 1:1 to the USD. So 25,000 becomes 25 X 1 = $25. This does absolutely nothing for the Iraqi people and goverment. Say they even go to a 3.22:1, yes that helps, but most Iraqi people don't have dinar saved up, they spend it each month or trade for dollars to live on. This option also does not allow enough value for the goi or cbi to recover costs of printing new currency. #2. Remove the three zero's from the exchange rate and print just a few new denominations costing tens of millions. So, 25,000 = 25,000 but now is 25,000 X $0.86 = $21,500. Change the exchange rate for inflation: 25,000 X $1.17 = $29,250. You are thinking "why would they do that", well they are already using USD for everything, They have to make their currency equal to or greater than to make a difference. #3. No lop, No redenomination. 25,000= 25,000 X a unbelievable rate (3.22 being the lowest I have heard about) = $80,500. Some morons are talking about $5+ even $10+ rates. This seems completely far fetched. I think I will take option #2, less cost for the goi and biggest impact. #1 does nothing for their country or people, and #3 is something that Okie Jokie would come up with. I am just trying to stay optimistic and not get into the hype of becoming a multimillionair.

I believe it is all smoke and mirrors. I still think they will remove the three zero's from the exchange rate, and then adjust for inflation. SO, from 0.00086 to 0.86 and then raise it to somewhere between 1.00-1.17 for inflation. No redenomination, just print lower denoms for ease of transactions. This is the only way I see that it will help the Iraqi people. I will be happy if I am right.
