Just because I base my statements on fact does not mean I'm a downer. I want this as much as you do so please stop taking things so personally. The facts are, it has taken them months in the past to pass bills so until you show me facts that state otherwise I will err on the side of caution and not get my hopes up. I am very educated on this investment and have 6+years in this. Please don't treat me like I'm a nobody and a "downer." If I don't say what you want to hear and pump things up for you then please don't read my posts. I try to be respectful and, again, make realistic statements. In this case it is my opinion that it will not be passed overnight. I'm sorry you dont' like hearing from non-pumpers.

I'm afraid I have friends in higher places in the "green zone" than a person doing electrical work. It's NOT TRUE. They are not lying and I find it hard to believe that an airport would be the only ones in Iraq to know about the RV. REally? Come on man, give it up.

Going by the facts of their history of passing laws, they seem to be in no hurry so I guess months is a better timeframe than years! They also have the budget to do the readings on yet so we are still in the same boat as we were in November when they first came back in session...we wait.

This is great news but they still need the three readings and then published in the Gazette, which from what I've researched doesn't happen overnight. Patience as always!

Yes it will take some time to do the three readings...months most likely. If you don't believe me, look at the past laws that have been finally passed, it's taken months to get three readings.

No disrespect Randalln but you did not go any further on your explanation other than stating that one friend told you something one time. Its not that I don't believe you but your recent statements have been somewhat misspelled and confusing. Randalln this post obviously stayed open for you to follow up on your original statements. You took the time to post a rebuttal regarding the currency auctions, but wrote not a word about your statements, your intel, or your explanation of what happened. Could you do that please? Thank you sir.

Unfortunately I have to respectfully disagree with the persons saying that Randalln never posts stuff like this. In fact, several times now he has posted false intel about the immenent RV. One time was about a supposed 1:1 rate that was on some screen that the banks use for their info. Another time (or two) were postings about his brother telling him it was done (his brother supposedly works high up in some sort of financial company). So, yes this is the rumors section and you have to take it as that, but this is not a person who has not done this in the past. I can assure you of that. Whether his intel was wrong or not, its happened before. You can clearly see that from previous posts.

Unfortunately this isn't true as we all should know by now. I, for one, have asked the people I know in the ME and they chuckle at the rumors that get spread. There is no 1:1 anywhere over in Iraq. Its the same old dame old 1170 rate that its always been.

No, the budget has been sent bavk to the finance committee for more amendments. At least that's what other articles have stated throughout the day.

I remember that too, but didn't post it because noone here wants to hear that its happened before. IMO only, Iraq is not ready to handle what an RV would bring them. They can't even handle themselves appropriately to pass laws, let alone know how to handle a sudden increase in their currency value. It would be mad chaos and civil war. Again, IMO only (with a whole lot of common sense).

Thank you for the link. I had read that one and interpreted it as "temporarily closed while the banks settle things for end of year finances." I'd guess the auctions will start again when they get their books all finished up and ready to start the 2012 banking year. I was assumming there was another article that I missed. Thanks anyways!

I too would like to see a. Link or confirmation of where anyone stated that the auctions have stopped. I'm sure while they are rebalancing for a few days they will be on hold, but nowhere did I read where it specifically states they have stopped for good. Where did I miss that? Thanks.

Don't they have to print all new lower denoms to incorporate the 3 languages and new security features? I think the ones printed in 2003 would not have the 3 languages....therefore not be what they want to use. Just a thought.

I want the same thing you do my friend. The fact is, there is no proof that the dinars from the auctions are not put right back into the economy. People seem to misconceive that the dinars are pulled in from auctions and just sitting at the bank when , indeed, I always understood the auctions as redistributing the currency back into the economy. If a trillion were sucked back in to the CBI, the value is still there...it doesn't just disappear.
