Banks collect on the insurance when you default..Tax write off after two years.. We did an audit on a property and found 7 seperate insurance policies..what incentive Would they have to work with you. Then they foreclose and sell the property again.. For those who are able to get modifications. Most are geared for you to end up defaulting again. I have seen some great Mods done..those people were blessed..but few and far in between. With the securatization mess that the banks have created. Every lender is being sued. Its just the tip Of the iceberg..BOA has lost several cases totaling over 100B..with more coming down the pipeline. That's why they are a mess..Thats not even including the Countrywide train coming down the tracks. Chase, Wells Fargo, Citibank. Goldman and others are involved in major lawsuits..which they will lose. This is a vicious cycle that will not end anytime soon..don't believe the hype..
