  1. caution: opinion below: They are the same currency, iraqi dinar, iMO you CAN pay with either, but you will get 999 dinar back if you pay with the 1000 note, that note will be removed circulation. How many of the new notes will have 000 on them? None, it is possible that lifting the 3 000 refers to lifting the currency with 3 000s out of circulation, not taking their value. Iraq has enough natural resources to back a reasonable RV (.86 -1.00). Turkey did not have that.
  2. There is 30 trillion in circulation they want to add liquidity to that 30 trillion.. so they are not decreasing the quantity, just the value, IMO. I think if they lop off 3 0s then they would be saying they want to decrease that number to 30 billion, and add liquidity to that 30 billion. Or something along the lines of wanting to decrease that number in circulation So if there is 30 trillion out there, they rv to 1:1 then they have added liquidity.
  3. I think what maybe missing are reasons not to RV. Turkey, in my limited knowledge, had very little natural resource to back an increase in their currencies exchange rate. With the contracts being distributed for oil, natural gas, silver, and construction, I think that Iraq has a better financial future to back this rise in value to the Dinar. +1 I appreciate the post! Knowledge is power, and you brought in an article increase mine.
  4. thankfully other credit agencies decided not to downgrade the US.
  5. Thats why i dont trust the lopsters and the argument that they can't RV, they would have more currency in circulation than the US. I think he was over quoting the amount of Dinar and paper notes to back it.
  6. The CBI they are referenceing is "Currency Bull**itters International' Today is Iraqs equivalent to our Sunday... if anything it would be tomorrow
  7. Sounds like A is pissed at M for using the influence of US economists... which honestly, has anybody seen our economy, you would think M.C. Hammer was in charge, and Willie Nelson was helping!!! They would be better off asking Turkey for some advice, or maybe Greece.
  8. Has anybody noticed we are reading into the EXACT words that a site translated, from another language that does NOT structure its sentences like our Germanic based language?? In other languages possession is translated differently, actions, accidents things that are caused by an individual, happen to them when translated directly. I do not know Arabic, I do know functional Spanish (Have to, I live in San Diego, how else am i gonna order fast food at the drive through!? this is a joke, not meant to offend), enough German to follow along in a math or chemistry text book. Does ANYBODY speak the Iraqi dialect of Arabic? If someone honestly does, i would love to hear their take... I wonder if they even have terms to describe what we are bickering about. It could be a conjugation issue causeing a whole threads worth of grief.
  9. New term: OKImoron, definition: Make outlandish prediction based off of intel from your secret source on your left hand Mr. Sockie, the head of sock-puppet security at the CBI (Currency Bullsh*tters International)... oh, AND TYPE IN ALL CAPS.
  10. Iraqis treat Fridays like we treat Sundays... so to answer which Friday, the one with the f and the y as in 'Y the F would they do it on Friday!?'
  11. damn, could really use some Albertos, or Alberietos or adn of the ____tos carne asada burritos... or carne asada fries, or Sombreros... jesus i need to go to lunch!
  12. I read a good point in another thread last night, that the 59 trillion is estimated to be a bloated or enhanced number, counting the out of circulation as well. Possibly meaning the old Saddam dinar. The amount that the poster was referring to was actually 30 trillion in currency. Considering that the US has just north of that 59 trillion number in currency (I believe) I too see how that could be difficult and struggle to reason an RV with glaring numbers like that. However, I think the actual amount of dinars in currency is significantly lower than announced. Based on the track record of great bookkeeping by the Iraqi government. This is all a guess, yes, i did think about it first.
  13. PLEASE DOCUMENT THAT EXPERIMENT!!! I really want to see that happen!! I think the look on the cashiers face would be worth the $3.22 that she will inevitably not give you. However, if you are a shady con artist you can pull that off, and what rhymes with shady con artist...... all together now: IRAQI GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL
  14. Is it me or does every thread end the same damn way: LOP vs noLOP? Just an observation...
  15. I am still not seeing an rv!? I want to soooooo f'n bad!!!!! but 30 000 000 000 000 / 26 000 000 000 = 1 153.84615
  16. Sorry to have opened any flood gates of bashing, I am simply interested in what the motivation would be, I am new and rushed in on a small investment, not really going to feel the loss, thankfully, but i was still ignorant and didn't do my research, i admit. I have done the best i can to educate myself through multiple outlets, but come here to find the latest articles and how they can be examined by a biased crowed. Then try and read them as if i were reading about road being repaved in a country i have no idea where it geographicly is. I have found those that do tend to express that "This will never happen" or "Its gonna LOP just wait and see daydreamers" are as useful as "The rate is going to be $10-$15 tomorrow!!!" Without actually commenting on the meat and potatoes of the thread. So why is what you are doing any better? What Okie says is truth... to him... he 'backs his with facts" althought, I guess a sock with a sharpie scribbled beard isn't really an Iraqi contact unless it is a skit from sesame street. I am not saying your opinion isn't welcome, hell, they let me join, obviously anybody can so all are welcome, *(I assume, since I have nO SAY WHATSOEVER, and that is a good thing) But, please keep in mind when getting ready to post something like that, that the pessimistic outbursts and one liners are as unappreciated as Guru BS...
  17. MY GUESS: I am assuming they will introduce the coins as a means of 'restructure' (look at me i have coins in my currency!! We are moving in the right direction!!) then remove the 0s making them 1iqd and .5iqd. Then RV.
  18. Can you link that please, i need a reason to live
  19. Are you invested in the Dinar? Only reason I ask is I would not be frequenting these kinds of boards if I wasn't invested. If you are, and you do not mind me asking, what was the reason for the initial investment if the RV is never going to happen?
  20. 30 trillion Dinar = 26 billion dollars, isn't that an exchange rate of 1153.85 dinar to 1 dollar... that is suprisingly close to the current rate, so I would have to agree with you.
  21. passed in the house, senate vote tomorrow...
  22. I tried searching for a thread with this in it, i may be using the wrong key words, so sorry if this an unnecessary post Is it possible that the rate we see on the CBI site would be different than if I were to walk into Wells Fargo or BofA or chase or a major bank? If so, can it be avoided if I am holding cash Dinar, not digital, like in a currency trading account Any feedback would be helpful, I am new, and apologize again if this is a burnt out topic.
  23. seriously, i am done playing with my dinar, would like this to end so i can play with my dong!!
  24. I think this says that you can pay an old 1000 note or a new 1 note, for the same item "
