I think I may have been the first to post BofA saying that the dinar RV "is a scam." I also mentioned that this ocurred in a branch in Everett, WA. Well that has changed - I recently went to the branch to check my SD box. Without any mention by me, the same manager who had told me it is a "scam," very quietly assured me that BofA WILL be "offering dinar transactions." The real question, of course, will be their "fee" for doing so - said by others to be a very heavy percentage of your exchange. I was encouraged that "before April 1" was a real possibility. Another "sucker" punch. I am thinking that the RV is far more complicated thatn any of us realize. DC1

A possible RV seems to be complicated by: 1. Primarily - some "shadowy" involvment of the US Government - what has the US Treasury been doing at the CBI? Does anyone know? I was surprised when I found that my best (dinar holding) friends did not know that the US holds 6.2 Trillion dinar in some form or another. Can anyone explain this? Another bit of information - the US House and Senates are said to be within $30 billion of agreement on the US budget now? 2. The role of PM Maliki as the villain holding back the "final 3 Ministerial appointments." What is this - does anyone have any idea, and does it have any connection to the dinar RV? 3. Very complicated remainder of UN Sanctions that were "said to be" satisfied going back to last Fall/Winter. Has anyone ANY idea of the true situation regarding the sanctions? 4. It has been said (elsewhere) that the US may be on the verge of "bankruptcy" and that only the dinar RV can prevent this? The deadline being mentioned as next Friday, April 8? Does any person here have any idea what this is all about? 5. Has the Iraqi budget ever been accepted and approved?????

According to his own actions - has not advanced names for the 3 remaining "Security Ministers?" Has been said to "want to keep those "Security" positions in the Prime Ministry?" Does this indicate he has some thoughts of becoming the new "Strong Man" of Iraq? It seems clear he is stalling and thus blocking the completion of the GOI. Whar are his intentions? I dearly hope the "People's Demonstrations" do not upset the revaluation apple cart. DC1

And let us hope and pray it is not (See Medic chat - Feb 5th). A significant contributing factor - IMO - would be that the RV has not been given to the people of Iraq as it should have been. The "invasion" resulted in the wealth of the people of Iraq being removed - they need it back. It is beyond the right time and it needs to be done - now.

I have stayed in touch with the manager of the local Bank of America - Evergreen Way, Claremont branch in Everett, WA - regarding the dinar. I have an account there and my stasch is there in a safe deposit box. Today - 11:30 am PT - I asked her: "Are you getting any udated information on the IQD?" She replied: 1) "The ONLY way to cash-in the IQD is in a bank in Iraq." 2) "No US bank will cash-in the IQD." 3) "Bank of America will NOT be cashing in IQD!" This was the 3rd discussion I had with her regarding the IQD. She was positive and encouraging on the first two, regarding the cash-in. Not bad - and how could any of us possibly complain? I do not think I would. On the other hand - what about all the rumors floating? Such as the freighter loads of "consumer" goods that "began moving to the docks" yesterday? Like in "oooooooooo" the sanctions have been lifted? What about that. And where is the rv that was to bee "announced on Sunday?" Sunday is over in Iraq.

That had shown up in several posts here on the forum - look for the longer "informational" posts. I would have to go back and find them now, but there have been more than one that cited Feb 15th. DC1

There has been some information that the UNSC Iraq meeting would be today - Feb 15th. I have checked the agenda via the internet and there is a UNSC meeting set for this topic tomorrow, Feb 16th. The first mention of this meeting that I recall said the meeting would be on the 16th. Please feel free to check on this and further let us know. DC1

Phoenix: Very good explanation - thank you for this. Earlier, I have mentioned the Tuesday meeting, but should have made clear there will no doubt have to be reaction time - no immediate happening of any kind I think. The anticipation of an rv that precedes the election may just be wishful thinking, but it has a certain logic. It is easy to connect an rv to the lifting of UN Sanctions - it would seem either one has little meaning without the other. We shall have to see what the news on this may be after the Tuesday discussion. Again - thank you for the explanation. DC1

It is difficult to understand if he is saying an rv may occur within this next week, or simply "more will be known" within the next week? My guess is more will be known. On the other hand, any information that narrows the window for the rv - compared to what we "know" now, would be very welcome. I want to believe - this next week has some possibilities owing to the UNSC discussion and the timing prior to the election. This can be only my folly and you do not have to follow. DC1

There are sources who have said for some time that the UNSC meeting is on Feb 16th, not 15th. Can you explain this? Also, it would seem to be rushing things for some sort of announcement just 24 hours following such a meeting. I realize that there must have been preparation - negotiations and communications by staff leading up to such a meeting. It would be good to know the process. Is that closely held information? DC1

Thank you Muhammed I believe most of we members here do not keep these relationships in mind and what you have said here will help us do that. You have also prompted us to keep in mind that this is not a simple process, and that the true purpose is to provide for the future well being and protection of the entire nation of Iraq - not just some random, external holders of the Iraq national currency. If anything is "timely" - it is your reminder. DC1

The February 7 rumors seem to have floated gently to a close. That date - give or take a few days either direction - did not result in the RV coming to reality - at least that we know of?. The next RV "due date" would seem to be just ahead, referring back to some earlier chat posted here. I regret I cannot quote the exact source - claim credit please if it was your information - whomever may have given us these "thoughts." These are paraphrased: Thought 1 - "The RV is likely to happen enough before the March 6 General Election, that it will attract votes to those in office now." I believe I recall that "about two weeks" was suggested. Counting back from March 6, that would be about February 21 - a week from this Sunday? Thought 2 - Is not the Iraq Foreign Minister (or other appropriate official) scheduled to meet with the UN permanent Security Council committee this coming Tuesday to discuss the (UN - NOT US) Chapter VII sanctions? And has there not been discussion here, perhaps even today, to the effect that the RV shoul happen either BEFORE, or be able to happen AFTER this meeting and discussion? Is it then logical to anticipate that the next window for RV should begin tomorrow to occur BEFORE the UN discussion, or between that meeting and Sunday the 21st to allow the two weeks prior to the election - for the voters to connect RV to the candidates who have produced the legislation to bring the country to it's current state of affairs? I admit to being a rank novice and outsider - and a short term investor. I really have no qualifications - except my personal interest - to post the information above. However, I have gained the information above as a (junior) member of this forum. I think these may be timely questions to prompt a discussion. Anyone?
