  1. You are right. This is clear because look at what is stated by the UN. http://www.uniraq.or...?ArticleID=1560 Statement of Mr. Madhu Acharya, Director, Political and Constitutional Affairs, UNAMI On the occasion of International Day of Peace 21 September 2011 Honorable Minister, distinguished guests, participants Ladies and Gentlemen, On behalf of the United Nations, I commend the Hon. Minister of Human Rights for organizing this event today to celebrate International Day of Peace and inviting us to attend. Peace is one of humanity’s most precious needs. For us at the United Nations, it is our highest calling that defines our mission. September 21, the International Day of Peace, is an occasion for humanity to take stock of itself and its efforts to live in peace. You would all agree with me that Iraq has made significant strides and continues to exert efforts towards institutionalizing peace, often with huge price during the last several decades, a price that civilians all over the country continue to pay on a daily basis. On behalf of the UNAMI, I would like to commend all of you, representatives from the Government, Parliament and the civil society for the enormous efforts made towards ensuring lasting peace for Iraq and its people, despite the enormous challenges. The international community, including the United Nations, is a strong partner to the people and Government of Iraq in this important endeavor. The path is however still a long one and as we continue to see on daily basis targeted and indiscriminate acts of violence, but this should not discourage us. This year’s theme on International Day of Peace is on peace and democracy. As the Secretary-General said in his message on the occasion, and I quote, “Democracy is a core value of the United Nations. It is crucial for human rights. It provides channels for resolving differences. It gives hope to the marginalized… and power to the people. But democracy does not just happen; it has to be nurtured… and defended”. Peace can only be broadened with democratic institutions and a broader participation of the civil society. Peace can only be sustained with justice fundamental human rights institutionalized. Iraq still faces several challenges towards institutionalizing peace. There are still ongoing violations of human rights. There are outstanding political issues to be addressed. Women’s participation in the political process has to be broadened. Minorities need better protection. The aspirations of youth need to be better addressed. Institutions will have to be strengthened on democratic principles. And most importantly, Iraq will have to soon regain its international place, exiting from Chapter VII. In all these endeavors, the United Nations stands ready as a partner with the Government and people of Iraq. At the United Nations, the Day is devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace and paying tribute to the many individuals who speak out in favour of peace. Here, we should salute the people of Iraq for their courageous commitment to peace and democracy, sometimes even at huge costs and despite enormous challenges. This day belongs to the people of Iraq. Thank you. Read more: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Notice that he says the following: And most importantly, Iraq will have to soon regain its international place, exiting from Chapter VII. Notice he said "Exiting"...means still in process. He did not say "Exited". Just like when you are done "running" you would say you "ran". Not that I am going to get too tied up in the grammar as much is probably lost in translation. We will know for certainty when they are officially out. Don't get me wrong...clearly we are close, but it's just not quite done, yet.
  2. Yes and I tried to respond back telling you how much I appreciated your statements and I must have been typing my lengthy response while the post was removed...tried to post and then poof the whole post vanished. Anyways thanks so much for the well thought out response. I wish we were both wrong :0(, but I don't think we are. However, I will stay invested because of the long term opportunity and the off chance I am wrong about the way I am reading these articles. By being realistic though it has freed me up to not expect much and focus back on my work. So all in all I'm glad I am open enough to see this investment for what it is. Your information was part of the reason why I could take off my dinar goggles...so thanks again!
  3. Pretty sure he never came out and said that directly....do you have a link or article to prove me wrong? I will gladly eat crow if I missed it, but if I saw a solid article where shabbs clearly came out and said he was going to revalue the currency I would be much less threatened by all of the delete the zeros articles. Believe me I WANT to be wrong, but I don't think I am. Also if the zeros were removed and 1,000 dinar = 1 dinar, which is then set = to one dollar....they just made one Iraqi dinar worth one usd....that is much more valuable than it is now.
  4. How is a LOP and RD different? I think they will simply RD so as an example, if right now 1,000 dinar = 1 usd after they Rd it would be 1 dinat to 1 usd. Eventually they will be let out of chap 7 restrictions and we will watch the dinar rise in value over time. It still should give us all a chance to profit on the investment, but it's tough to see why they would RV before RDing....how would that benefit them? They would have to pay out a fortune. They can simply achieve a 1 to 1 value with the dollar by simply RDing. All of their goals would be achieved. Unless there is something I am missing?
  5. Does this mean chap 7 is complete? Or just that britain or kuwait have agreed to support the lifting of chap 7 sanctions? Ps- I'm writng this on my phone and when I went to click on "quote" I mistakenly hit the -1 on magawatt....could someone balance him out and then add then someone else add one for the post....pleeeeeeeeease!
  6. Thanks so much bondlady.....I really really appreciate your response. What is your website....I wouldlike to follow up in a place where all the bashers won't come out. Thanks again! Joe
  7. So bond lady I think I recall you saying you have studied this thing for years and that you are absolutely confident Iraq won't LOP. After reading this article do you still think that? The deletion of the zeros sure seems like LOP to me. Please help clear this up for me.
  8. I'm right there with ya hoop dog....I really want this thing to RV, but when I read these news articles it sure reads like a RD to me. Ultimately, the value of the dinar will go up....I guess I'm just starting to doubt an overnight revalue.
  9. I have been studying this investment for quite a while now. I guess I am confused as to why everyone is so excited when Iraq talks about deleting the three zeros? I even came across an article today that specifically uses the word redenominate. The only argument against this article that I have heard is that it is smoke and mirrors because they aren't gonna do it. Is it just me or is this just wishful thinking? Do we all just want to believe in this so bad that we are missing the reality of all of these deleting the zeros articles and that they are just gonna do what they say they are gonna do? Someone talk some sense in to me. What am I missing?
  10. Hey easy....when do you think it will change? What is your best guess/hunch? Obviously, we won't hold you to it. Just curious.
  11. Yep. Most of Chap 7 has been lifted, but they are not completely out, yet. Part of the remaining items to be completely out of chap 7 have to do with implementing the Ebril (Abril) agreement. Once they move out of chap 7, they can move into chap 8, which will allow them to have an internationally recognized currency and this thing will be done.
  12. I appreciate your stance SurfingtheDinarWave, but I think you are overly optimistic. They are still not officially out of chap 7 and they cannot officially be done with the Ebril agreement until HCL is voted in (also what about article 140?). HCL is scheduled to be go before parliament next week and keep in mind their weekend starts today (Friday). So to think it will RV today or this weekend is a stretch. Don't get me wrong I WANT it to....I just don't see it happening until late next week at the earliest and more likely we are at least 2 weeks out. In regards to the tariff laws, they have said the same thing about these laws in the past. It is a common misunderstanding on these forums, but you don't have to have internationally tradeable currency to tax imports and exports....they simply tax them in dollars or dinars. It's just my opinion, but I think these new laws are a great sign and likely the result of the government and the CBI pushing things forward to put pressure on Maliki. He doesn't want to give up power, so when they create laws like the new ones that are being implemented, I think the government as a whole is trying to force his hand and putting pressure on him to give up control so that they CAN move forward with some of these things. Take it or leave it...just my two cents.
  13. Um.....ok. No offense DinarC, but I can never follow your posts. I have no clue what you are talking about in either of the above posts. Maybe my energy is in the wrong place and that is why I don't understand? LOL.
  14. Not me....been through it too many times. There are still things that need to be accomplished. Relax, get some sleep and wait until HCL is passed and chap 7 lifted...then you can hit the refresh button with good reason. We can possibly start to get excited next week when parliament reconvenes...don't get caught up in all the hype, just follow the news. Not me....been through it too many times. 15. I think this title is somewhat misleading. I don't know who ScottiG is but I really like Randy Koonce and have been impressed with his knowledge when listening to his conference calls. The title/post above seems to indicate that Randy is being lumped in with the other so called Gurus. just for the record I have never heard him (Randy) give a date or rate...only things I have ever heard him discuss is what to look for to know when the RV is coming (he firmly believes they must have a fully seated GOI before this thing RV's). Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I haven't been in this investment for years so I don't know what has been said in the past, but some of the best/most informative conference calls I have listened to are his. I am not a pumper or loyal to anyone I feel is full of BS, but he is someone I respect. On a different note, has anyone else noticed that Okie's band of thieves is expanding exponentially. Out of nowhere we went from just Okie, to now we also have this Bulldog75, ScottiG, Ghost and they seem to share info/intel with TonyT and Elsie. I only point this out because it seems as if the same group of people spreading the false intel. If you look at the others like Phoenix, Breitling, Randy Koonce and Adam Montanna - they all are saying we still have a few weeks at best. It's just funny how bad rumors spread fast!
  16. When is he scheduled to share? Not sure that Obama would be the one to announce the RV?
  17. So possibly we might see a RD...then do you think they might rv down the road a bit. I know you are leaning towards an rd instead of rv, but once their currency can be traded internationally, my understanding is that they will have to open up their books and they will no longer be able to keep their rates locked at the current rate...thus the currency wil have to go up with all of the extra wealth added to te currency. Just curious to hear your take on how this might go down. :0)
  18. Don't they also need to formalize the Ebril agreement? In fact, if I recal correctly, the hcl law is a part of the ebril agreement along with the official signing of some documents to make it official. I have heard that the census may be done...anyone have any good info one way or he other? As far as chap 7 - I believe there are still some issues they need to resolve with kuwait (like returning their dead), but I also sem to recall Kuwaut asking the UN to lift the chap 7 sanctions for Iraq. This leaves article 140 - of wich I don't really understand anything about this? Any help blue orchid? Anything else we could be missing?
  19. That was my understanding too capt. Cliff. Maybe I am mistaken, but I didn't think they could go international without being completely out of chap 7...once chap 7 is done then they can go into chap 8. That is why I can't figure out what all the excitement is about right now. I have done my fair share of research, but maybe I am just not aware of something?
  20. You have waaaaaaaay too much time on your hands. It would actually be somewhat worth reading if you called them "DINARsours". Seriously couldn't make it more than two paragraphs in. You do realize this is a dinar website right?
  21. Blue orchid your time is GREATLY appreciated... I know we are all very grateful to have you here. On a different note do you think an RV will curb inflation or worsen it? I would think that if everyone suddenly has new wealth that it would worsen inflation. Are you still leaning towards RD only? I highly respect your take.
  22. See highlighted sentence above. You must have really gone overboard Actually I didn't get banned....my thread was shut down quick. It was my original post Harley carried over for me that got closed. I just find it funny that me asking for a person to be banned got my thread closed. It is all good...I now have a better understanding as to why.
  23. Is there a point to any of okies threads? Why close this one simply because it is controversial?
