I show interest paid as .125% on IQD. And 0.50% interest paid on USD. Adding the interest paid from the first half of 2016 the annual interest rate on IQD was about 2.415% on regular savings accounts.

I am considering the possibility of the small amount of interest to be some adjustment or reassessment of interest to be paid. Hopefully there will be an additional payment made on 1/2/17.

meanwhile the Kurds sold $Billions of their own oil on the black market to look after the needs of Kurds. Yes the Barzanis skimmed a middle man fee of course!

Zero points spread or no fees! whatever they want to call it, this should encourage deposits into the banks.

My wife and I toured Egypt in 08. We saw Saudi's and the way they treated the locals. The Saudi's were arrogant and treated them like dirt! It's about time the Egyptians tell them to shove it up their royal a$$Es!

And to think These Iraq Banks are said to only possess 10% of the potential in citizens deposits. So these Banks have not even begun to tap the assets in Iraq!

It would seem to me that if the 5 biggest Banks including Rasheed Bank are tied in with the CBI electronically, then why shut down? you can audit instantly at any time and still stay up and running to make$$$$. Lets hope it's our year!

Manny99,
Your right and I read it wrong. However there have been recent articles in regards to our IRS advising Iraq on setting up their tax code as well as identifying money laundering.
-
One must admit it's pretty interesting how much interest our IRS is showing in the structure of Iraq's tax code!

Hi Sarge!
Interestingly the Muslim faith believes itself to be the pure and unadulterated truth of God. So would a symbol that represents Pagan worship set up in a public square serve to unite Muslims and Christians? Or just cause further irritation? Just look at the tension in Jerusalem as an example of never ending tension. The Muslim world understands clearly what the evergreen tree represents and it offends them, especially the Religious leaders who fuel violence! I am not saying their behavior is right or justified. The Christmas Tree is a Pagan symbol of the ancients. Don't believe me? look it up on Google and inform yourself. Muslims look at Christians as stupid and influenced by Satan for adopting such symbolism into worship that should be honoring their Lord and Savior Christ! Muslims honor Jesus as a great prophet! There is no symbol in the Christmas holiday that has roots free from paganism. The very celebration of Christmas is honoring the Sun God cult of the ancients. there are many quotes in the book "The Two Babylons" by Alexander Hislop that shed light on the origins of all this.
My point is that the tree planted in Iraq may be well intentioned, but a Christmas tree will not fix the problems there as you must try to look at some things through Islamic eyes. Unfortunately the businessman is trying to push good sense in an easily offended community. This is why in part my comment called the tree ugly! So I believe that I was staying on point Sargent as you have to look a little deeper at things.
Please be assured I'm not trying to body slam anybody or be disrespectful.

IMO they spent about 23 million IQD too much on that ugly tree!

CBI is allowing fear to force the chunky cash buy back at low rates. It's a brilliant move when you consider it's the only thing that will force a cash society to give it up and establish bank accounts. When enough has been brought in then we should see an R/V. Governments and Central Banks screw their own citizens first financially, because they can!

In my opinion the budget has nothing to do with an R/V. But No Budget=No World Bank Loan. End of story!

No Budget=No Loan from the World Bank! I bet they will pass a budget considering the attendance today!

Now wether or not it originally started in Lebanon I'm not sure.

When did the open door policy open up again for private banks? It was because of sectarian closed door policies that got Warka Bank in financial problems overnight 7 years ago. This news is great to hear!

There was 4 Billion notes reported in circulation 3 years ago. The question is how many notes are still out there? Through articles we know that the CBI would not start monetary reforms until the 1 Billion note level in circulation was met. So I am under the belief that we are at that level of 1 Billion now and January 2017 is a new beginning for the value of the IQD.

Hahahaha, didn't mean to throw a wrench into the discussion by implying people on here actually smoke crack. Back on topic:
unirod, can we assume that the 3.34 rate that Sadame created would be what the articles on "Back to their Glory Days" is referring to? Adam Montana is thinking .10 but I'm looking at what the planning commission is stating...
Anyway we have approximately 42 days to see if what I'm reading will come to past.
DoD,
Iraq had what they might consider a "Glory" rate over the USD even pre-Saddam as research shows. Regardless, my speculation is that Iraq's wealth has been systematically transferred across the globe through debt. In my opinion the debt has been transferred abroad using 3 zero notes.
-
DoD,
I'm not a Guru but just a accomplished Builder. The former glory comments come from the articles themselves. I'm just focused on what Iraq is stating about their intentions with their own currency.
P.S. I don't smoke crack either

Latest articles are stating Iraq's currency returning to "It's former glory" When I read such terms it reinforces to me that it will come out as a reinstatement of It's former value of $3+ per Dinar. I know that it is a long shot to believe this but again money and vast fortunes change hands daily across the globe. Why not for holders of the IQD? An R/I would also mean no capitol gains for any of us as I understand the IRS tax law. Now that is what I'm looking for and I could just bet you so are the rest of the Big financial players on the global scene! Iraq is looking to be part of the global basket of currency's that won't have a negative effect on the other currencies in the basket, but will have a positive purchasing effect on the Iraqi people. So the only thing that I see accomplishing that is an R/I. When the Iraq currency was devalued vast fortunes in Iraq and globally were put on ice so as to speak. Do any of us really think that the Big boys are going to lose their fortunes for good? I think not! because we are talking infrastructure and real estate in Iraq. so something is going to take place in this nation building effort with Iraq that defies financial logic! but will in fact cause Iraq to enter the world scene in a debt driven economy like every other nation!
