  1. I believe you have bought into WAY too much of the other Dinar GURU POO POO.

    That will clear up most of your misconceptions.  In a nutshell - The CBI will set the rate for all exchanges - there will be no "contract rate."  No need for a NDA - once this becomes a recognized international currency, most banks will cash it in for you - and probably a good number of currency exchanges.  The only difference will be the amount of spread the institution will charge.

    "If you are exchanging currency, you pay a spread. Your dealer may not ADD a spread, but somehow someway you are paying a spread!"  (Quote from Adam's Cash in Guide)

    As for 800 numbers - don;t get me started on that one.

                What tax ? Sorry to change the subject slightly , but many have been wondering what kind of tax we may be subject to . As far as I know ,there is nothing in the tax code presently that addresses tax on profits of currency exchange ,and tax can't be retro active . Is it somewhere in the new tax code ?

    You might want to take a look here -

    I believe this quote makes it about as bottom line as I can find...but remember, in this case the jury is still out and you will need to talk to a good CPA or Tax Attorney (which - being a VIP - I will surely get a list of from Mr. Montana once this pops...)

    "Foreign currency exchanges are either dealt with under Section 1256 or under Section 988 of the Internal Revenue Code. Section 1256 is set up for gains on contracts (futures & forward contracts) made by investors in widely traded currency. Since this is not a widely traded currency and since it is not under contract, Section 1256 does not apply.

    The IRS Publication 525 that you referenced mentions a "Personal Transaction" above $200. (By the way it is on page 33, not page 30) This language comes directly out of Section 988. However, what you are doing is not a personal transaction. Personal transaction as contemplated in Section 988 specifically excludes anything done for the purpose of producing income (referenced under section 212). A "Personal Transaction" is one where you exchange money for your trip to Belgium and when you get back you exchange it back. Everyone on this board is holding currency for the purpose of producing income. That is not a "Personal Transaction" but is an income producing investment transaction. Therefore, it falls under the rules of Section 988 and is Ordinary Income."

  5. So- Mandy is home, but bureacracy has reared it's ugly head.  We we were under the impression that she would be able to start the Intravenous feedings (TPN) at home with a home health service setting her up and her primary care physician monitoring her lab work every few days to ensure that nothing was out of kilter until the got the formula set for her body.  Apparntly the hospitalist who was helping us - and the case manager assigned to follow up - were unaware of a few things. They were both fairly new with this hospital (which just recently changed owenership also).

    Well - Since a hospitalist ordered the TPN, as soon as Mandy was discharged from the hospital, those orders were no longer valid, and they needed another doctor - either her GI  specialist or her Primary Care provider - to write a different order. Because her Gi doctor had no hospital rights with this hospital (she runs an outreach clinic in the town from a Regional Helath Center - in one of their offices!) she was not able to see Mandy while she was in the hospital, and didn't feel comfortable with writing her that order.  Her Primary Care physician was afraid it was outside of her scope of practice, so she wouldn't write the order. On top of that, we found out that the Home Health Care doesnt normally start TPN in a home setting - so they want her to be re-admitted for a couple of days while they start the feeds. Add to that we are still waiting to hear back from either one of the advanced clinics on the availability of a date that is sooner than June. My level of frustration is pretty high, as you can well imagine.

    Mandy and I spent an hour with the Hospital's Patient Advocate yesterday - while she was at the infustion center getting her usually scheduled weekly infusion - and hopefully we may have unlocked another avenue to help expedite things. I do know that her admission case is going before the Chief Medical Officer review board. Hopefully that can help other who may run into the same problem having a smoother admission through their Emergency department.

    Also - about an hour after that meeting with the advocate, she got a call from her Primary Care physician - who will now write the oder for 2 weeks, which is when she is scheduled for a consultation to become a patient of the adult GI doctor here.  She also has a meeting with the head of the hospital Nutritionists to work on finalizing an initial formula. Bottom line - it sounds like we are finally getting somewhere at least on the local side.

    So - for me - the last few days have definitely been about the Serenity pray - I pray that all of you praying for us will join us in it - not just for us, but for yourself also -

    "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;
    courage to change the things I can;
    and wisdom to know the difference.
    Living one day at a time;
    enjoying one moment at a time;
    accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
    taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
    trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will;
    that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next.
    Amen."

  6. So - here is where we are today.

    Mandy is still in the hospital. She had a port put in this morning so she can start total intravenous feedings because her bowel can't seem to handle more than 5 ml/hour and she needs to be at closer to 70 ml/hr in order to sustain herself.  We were hoping with some luck to be out of the hospital and home today - but we found  out there is a national shortage of the TPN formula (intravenous food) and we won't be able to get any until Thursday from another town 90 miles away. So - one more night in the hospital. If they confirm delivery for Wednesday and home health care has an opening, we will be out of here tomorrow.

    This is a stop gap until we can get her to a national type facility that may have answers.  Currently have calls into Seattle Children's Hospital and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. They seem to be our closest best bets because of there motility clinics.  The last we heard, however, was unless the Dr. declares it urgent ( not being able to eat seems urgent to me) the next open referral date is in June.  Hopefully Wisconsin is a shorter wait.

    Again - thanks for all the prayers. I for one feel some serenity knowing that there are so many voices asking God to look upon us. Bless you all.

    I hope you don't care and even if you do, too bad for you. At the end choir practice we name prayer requests and last night I named Mandy. We all prayed that God's will will be done for Mandy. And that's another 20 folks who will be lifting her up through the week along with me.

    Prayers continuing.

    Thank you so much for adding her to your intentions. I'm of the opinion the more petitions before God the better. I may be a practicing Catholic ( practicing because I'm still trying to perfect it) but I feel any requests to God are heard. All my Christian brothers and sisters matter to me. Bless you for your caring.

  8. Bohica - I can't give much advice, but I CAN say thank you for what your doing.  As a Vet who has fought with the VA (some successful - some I'm still fighting over) I know this is a needed service you're offering and wish I could do more to advis or help.

    :salute:

  9. Just a quick update -

    Mandy has totally baffled the medical staff here. Her motilitiy tests and all the imaging appear normal.  They can see no reason for what is going on - but they know there is something blocking her ablity to use her G/J tube.  The tube is clear - that's been confirmed. Her intestine is moving liquids - slowly - but it is moving them according to the barrium they injected through the tube yesterday.

    She tried restrting her feedings yesterday - but after 2 hours it was so painful she had to stop.  Tried again a couple of hours later - same result.

    We have an Internal Medicine specialist who does work with Mast cells that we are trying to consult with. Hopefully he has some ideas. Going to try her feed tube again - but at an even lower right this afternoon. We need to get something into her because now her electrolytes are starting to get out of balance.

    That's the update - again - thank your for all the prayers. I KNOW that they will be heard in God's time and in His way.

  10. So she is recovering from an endoscopy this afternoon. Took some biopsies to test for mast cell issues. Nothing super obvious.  Still experiencing pain when trying to use feed tube though...however it is less.  Looks like tommorow is a fluoroscopy look at how the tube is placed using a contrast stain.  The initial CAT scan seemed to show it sitting where it's supposed to be, but he believes this gives a better look. It may also reveal what he terms an intestinal pseudo-blockage.

    O Lord God, I come to You for help and succor. You have afflicted my child Mandy.Help me to understand that You mean well. Give me grace to bear my child's affliction with patience and strength. Bless me, O Father, and restore my child Mandy to health. Do not forsake us, but give us an assurance of Your loving Kingdom.
    Bless this illness to me and my child Mandy, and help us both to be better children of Yours because of it.
    In the name of Your Holy Son Jesus Christ. Amen!

  11. This was ridiculous.  The ER was told by her GI Practioner that she was having her come in to be admitted.  I understand they had to process her through there because he GI didn't have practice rights at this hospital, but almost 9 hours is not acceptable in my book.  Came in at 7 pm and we were finally in a room at 3:30 AM.  Mandy was at a level 7 for pain for almost 2 hours before she was seen by a provider and was finally given something for pain and nausea.  Then we waited on an ultrasound tech - and the last straw was having to wait for the hospitalist to sign her in...and that was over 2 hours after the ultrasound.

    On on the plus side - IV fluids and antibiotics have her in less pain and nausea. They are continuing those...

    On the minus side -the resident GI at the hospital is so swamped he may not be able to see her today.  His PA came in this morning and scheduled a few  more tests, but the would like to do an Endoscopy which he won't be able to do until tomorrow.

    If we were in a truly rural area, I'd kind of expect this...but this is the state capital and about 50,000 people. Not huge by any means but not that small either.

    ok - rant over. Thank you for allowing me to vent.  It feels like family here - in many ways.

    Again - thank you for the prayers.

    Omnipotent and eternal God, the everlasting Salvation of those who believe, hear us on behalf of Thy sick servant, Mandy, for whom we beg the aid of Thy pitying mercy, that, with her bodily health restored, she may give thanks to Thee in Thy church. Through Christ our Lord. Amen

  12. Thank you all. Been in the ER for about 6 hours now. Waiting in a resident GI to write orders to admit her. Its just after midnight here and its been a long day. She is comfortable thanks to some Zofram and Dilaudid and is at least napping.  Will keep you informed as we go. God bless you all for your healing intentions.

  13. I'd like to ask the DV prayer warriors for their help again.  You might remember my posting about my 20 YO daughter earlier.  She has had some serious challenges and has faced them with amazing fortitude and grace.  We are facing another challenge.

    She has been on a G/J tube for  nutritional feeding for over a year. We were hoping and praying that by resting her system her stomach would resolve the gastroparesis issue. Her stomach just would not digest food - even though it is producing plenty of acid (too much in fact) and was stable and doing OK. She is going to college and leading as normal a life as possible with having to carry a backpack with a small food pump with her at all times.

    However, something new has happened in the last week. She started experiencing extreme abdominal pain when feeding, and even when she slowed the rate to 20 ML/hour with just water ( that's about 3/4 of an ounce an hour) she was still experiencing pain.  We went to the ER and they gave her an IV to help with the dehydration. We were waiting on a call from her GI doctor to see what we could do. Unfortunately, this weekend her usual GI was not the one on call, and is actually in another town 115 miles from us. we are trying to get her int to see a GI specialist here, but he is scheduled out for almost 2 months - we were able to get an appointment in about a month about a week ago (just before this happened) only because her current GI was able to push the issue a bit.

    They started her on a course of Augmentin - because that can cause bowel contractions - 72 hours and another IV infusion later - no change - and looks like we are going back to the ER for another infusion for dehydration today.  I will admit that as a father I'm frustrated and scared.  I'm trying hard to take to heart the words of Saint Padre Pio "Pray, hope and don't worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer." It's tough - and I admit to failing in the "don't worry" department.

    Prayers for Mandy would be greatly appreciated.

    Lord, look upon Mandy  with eyes of mercy, may your healing hand rest upon her , may your lifegiving powers flow into every cell of her body and into the depths of her soul, cleansing, purifying, restoring her  to wholeness and strength for service in your Kingdom. Amen.

  14. I was really hoping to NOT debunk this one - but alas -

    This article has been around since early 2016.  However -

    http://www.livingwithfaith.org/blog/evidence-of-pharaohs-army-in-the-red-sea

    "This extract from one of the published articles “reporting” the discovery certainly looks authentic in that it states the find was officially announced by Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities and names the specific archaeologist - Professor Abdel Muhammad Gader – responsible for the discovery, as well as seeming to show a discovered artifact.
    The truth, however, is that the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities has never made such an announcement, there is no Professor Abdel Muhammad Gader at Cairo University, and every detail of the claimed finds is pure fiction. Even the picture of the ancient Egyptian “Khepesh” (or Khopesh) sword accompanying the article (reproduced above), and implied to have been found among the Red Sea artifacts, is well known to archaeologists. It was found at Nablus, north of Jerusalem, a good many years ago, and the photograph of this weapon used in the supposed news article has been taken from the Wikipedia site, here."

    Doesn't lessen my faith any - my heart of hearts feels the truth of my Belief.
