Wow...I totally disagree. I believe we have a huge spending problem in this country. But we also have a problem with the tax code. Why is it that only around 48% of americans pay taxes? The "poor people" feel like everyone else who makes more money than them should support them. They have bought into this helpless attitude instead of taking the bull by the horns and doing something about it. I personally can't stand to see nearly 40% of my paycheck go to taxes, then hear politicians say they need more! Or that the rich should be taxed more! Thats crazy. I'm not rich at all, but I am happy for those who figured out how to make it. I might be jealous because I haven't figured out how to do that yet, but I'm happy for them. It keeps me going. I believe I could figure it out some day because of them. Go RICH PEOPLE! YOU ROCK!
The Government perpetuates the helpless idea with welfare and unemployment. Many of these folks on unemployment won't take jobs because they "make more' doing nothing taking from us the tax payers.
I vote that we get rid of the IRS, the current tax code, and go to a straight up 7% tax for EVERYONE, rich and poor. Even welfare folks pay their 7%. No more tax deducts....keep it simple and everyone pays. That would save a ton on Government payroll and etc, plus give them a pretty good windfall of revenue.
IMHO....what do I know. I'm barely trying to make it in the middle class and raise a family.
