Thanks 8th ID. I guess the definition of "Cold" is what is in question. I grew up in Nebraska where a cold day would be in the teens for a high and we would dress in shorts if it got up into the fifties on a sunny day. But now that I have lived in the Phoenix area for over 25 yrs, I'm putting on a jacket if it gets below the 60's. lol 😎

Good Morning Ladies, Thanks for the chicken tips! We are learning as we go day by day. Our chick's are still young, oldest are 3 1/2 months so not laying eggs yet. Are you in a cold climate, we are debating the need for a heat lamp in the coop...any guidance is much appreciated. I'm afraid that if I let my wife have her way these chickens will be treated like humans. Not sure that would be the best for them.

Thanks for the good info! We purchased them from a feed store so not sure of if hybrids or not. 5 Americaunas 2 Buff Orpingtons 2 Polish 2 Red Productions 1 Black Barred Rock 1 Moran 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte We think one of the Polish is a rooster. if that is the only one then we did good!

LOL, That is way too funny!!!! We purchased a property here in the Phoenix AZ area and are allowed to have chickens. My wife and I have never owned any chickens before and we purchased 14 baby chick's. They are such a hoot to watch.

Speaking of "Keep", has anyone heard from him lately? I enjoyed reading his posts but it seems like he became disenchanted with this investment awhile back.
