In this sentence, currancy (Okie's verbiage) or currency (CapnGeech's verbiage) should actually be written in the plural form - "currencies." Thanks! 'Nuff said, period.

Keep....you are spot on. Some people hear something and run with it, without realizing or understanding what they are saying. It is a common case of them not being confident with the type of investment that has been made. They also want reassurance of their investment from a random stranger, which to me is rather strange and silly, but who am I? Keep on keepin' on, Keep!

Carrello- Thank you for your inquisitive post! I appreciate people that are trying to understand things rather than bash. The reason that I was saying, if NOT this month then 2014, was because Maliki WILL be in office until then. There is NO WAY he leaves office before the next elections and in that time they will have had four years as a democracy and able to get their country moving forward. At that time, the currency would be able to become more valuable after the new elections and the supposed corrupt authorities were no longer in charge. Notice, I said if it did not happen in September. A huge piece of information came our way just yesterday (Friday, Sept. 23) though. NO, the IQD did not revalue...but the currency is now interntionally recognized. They are a sovereign nation able to do what they please with their money. I will not go ahead and say that it will RV tomorrow, but the liklihood of an RV before the new government just became MUCH more clear. I believe it WILL happen before 2014, even if it doesn't happen within the final days of this month.

Could you not focus as much onto WHAT forum this belongs in? This is a great step in the recovery of the Iraqi dinar and you are concerned that the post is in the wrong forum. Priorities...people priorities. Yes, this is news...yes, they are saying that the IQD is internationally regognized as such. They are also saying that they are pleased that it is at 1,191 as opposed to what it once was at some 3,027. While this is great, it leads us to the question of.."Is Iraq going to be satisfied that their currency is now internationally recognized or are they looking to make it even stronger?" We shall see in a few months....

Unfortunately, Frank is letting the hard financial times hit him and his senses. The fiscal year in Iraq begins January and runs through December. Not that I believed that Shabibi said that, but the FY is wrong. The USA FY is October through - September 30. Unfortunately, people hide behind religion and expect you to believe WHATEVER they say. YOU are not WAY off base...Adam is WAY off base. Banks WILL NOT charge a 30% spread...UNLESS you let them. Go in knowing that you can and you will negotiate.
