If you buy silver bullion (not silver currency) having your purchase documents denominated in IQD according to Canadian tax laws no taxable condition is triggered. Upon selling the bullion silver for CAD the only taxable component of that transaction would be the appreciation of the silver price. The key is to find a Silver vendor who will make the Bill of Sale payable in the 'internatioally tradeable IQD currency.

My family has a significant amount of IQD and this is one of 3 or 4 sites that I visit to remain informed after digesting that which is not chaff. Dinar is not my life; I am content where I am at in life. There are things that occur that really prioritize what is significant and what is incidental. On Tuesday, Oct 19/10 my older daughter passed away into the heavenly glory awaiting her as a devoted child of God. We are a family where love for our Lord and Saviour and for our family overrides all these other pursuits. We loved and cherished her and will miss her to a degree I have not been able to quantify. We still own all our IQD but it is not the compelling issue in our lives. Our daughter was a high mensa level (IQ -- 200) person and no amount of dinar will replace her and all that she meant to us. If nothing else this gives one perspective for what we should allow to control us.

Addendum to the above post...........Allawi is a Shiite albeit a secular Shiite.

Allawi is not a Sunni. He simply positioned his party as a secular political party and not as a sectarian political party and, consequently, got a large majority of the Sunni vote. Politically he did exactly what both the UN and America had hoped would happen in Iraq on a broad basis. Most of the instability in Iraq can be traced to the unabated sectarian animosity that is rampant there. If a lid could be placed on sectarianism they would be able to establish a real nationalism for their country that is now not attainable.
