Im collecting bits and pieces thru various postings and articles but I guess I havent found the one item that tells me exactly what will happen if June 30th comes and goes....then what? I was surpised that the 13303 was extended, i thought the fact that would expire would somehow influence Iraq to get thier act together.....so basically there really isnt any reason for Iraq to hustle up and get things done unless they are going to lose something. If I was a country that was raising money by selling my currency and had some assets overseas that I could lose, you bet I would be hustling. What happens, do they miss the oportunity to go 'global" or what? Please, informative answers, thank you. McFly831

Its the only way I can see that Iraq can become stable while the government pulls together and actually become a progressive entity for the country. If the Iraqi borders can really be secured, the country can really prosper over time and Iran would become an embarassment to the region.

Youl prolly take some heat but thats ok, best to look at long term. You notice the ones that say its a scam are the ones that didnt want to wait it out. The revalue will happen, just a matter of when and what rate. It can only be a get rich quick scheme if you bought dinar the day before the RV announcement. Important thing is that you are more educated and aware of the events taking place over there towards the rv. You can see first hand the history being made and you can decide for yourself instead of relying on others opinions. Is it gonna make you a million? I dont know, no one does honestly. Is it going to make you more than you spent? If its greater than 15% a year then you did fab. Youl find more nay-sayers than you know what you can do with. And as for the "It can Happen Any Day Now"......yes, it could, will it? I doubt it from whats available. Dont purchase on emotion and I look at it not as an investment, to me its speculation. Like the fellow that bought the pan and is sitting on the riverbank to flash for gold. Is he paying for the pan, yep. Is he spending time panning? Yes, and he has a better chance of finding gold than the fellow that standing on the riverbank saying its a waste of time. As for the possibility of gaining...you stand a better chance than the folks you were with last night.

Im thinking that with the assets still being frozen, they NEED to have an RV before they are released. So there just might be a possibility of a late night session to get everything done, i mean really, they can hold off for years but its amazing that they can pull something off just before the buzzer sounds. If the US is out by december as voted by parliment and no progress has been made, worse case possibility the country will go to hell in a handbasket. Im sure the US has a back up plan to prevent this. Granted the country has been in shambles but cmon, they now have more freedoms though they are still exploring that avenue. There is an occasional bombing to remind them of the past by folks that dont want western influence. Its a growing process. My father was AF and we were stationed in Iran in 1969 and 1979, interesting time, The Shah was in power. US was there to introduce western updates. Older generation muslims didnt like that at all. The younger generation was experiencing a bit more freedon but was still indoctrinated by the elders, which caused them to think even more about the future. Many Iranians came to the States and took on jobs as busboys, taxi drivers, janitors, ect. Many went to colleges and became highly educated and positioned themselves to be pillars of thier community. Of course you have the few that want to " go off the deep end" and turn on western ways, revert back to the way it was but in reality, once you become aware, you cant become unaware. Long story short, my family left Iran in 70, shortly thereafter the Shah was kicked out along with his sister and family, he came down with cancer, he traveled the world to seek treatment and sad part was that no country was willing to take him in. He did come to the US for a brief treatment but it wasnt a long term deal......I guess it was politicaly incorrect. He eventualy died. Where his sister is, I have no clue. I just hope that even though I have some dinar, I would give it all up if they could only see the potential that they have. If they could only see themselves thru our eyes........

Do I think the government can make you turn in your gold? Yes, I do. Why you ask? They did it before back in the 30s, its how we got onto the gold standard in the first place. I was under the impression that private banks would have a very difficult time in collecting funds that have defaulted as the financial judicial system wasnt up to par, is this correct? If so then that would be understandable.
