K98 - Fairly newbie but once I got over the rumorgu's and I got on the fast track to solid information I really enjoy your posts... thanks! I know it takes a lot of time, and I appreciate it! (oh, btw, I used to be a chimney sweep so that is a real hat's off to you!). Love the chance for a cruise and a stoggie someday... though I myself am a carver and the pipe smoking type... the old fellow that taught me how to carve smoked a pipe so I smoke it out of remembrance of him. Well... let me wade into this one, if you don't mind. My wife and are I have adopted to two kids, and we would be called a "blended" family so to speak. Now I am not a "politically correct" person in the least, but I know so many can't stand it when I just say it like it is... so I will go easy. That said... coming from a totally non racist person... I don't care what color your skin... I look at a person's heart, and their actions... and to be frankly honest I am totally embarrassed for our country that we have a president who would even consider saying what Obama said. We need to wake up in 2012 and vote for someone who really does reflect the ideals of the American people, and maintain the foundations on which this country was built. And yes I am a believer, and would side with Israel come hell or high water... that, in my opinion is one time choosing sides "does matter". And no, I am not saying any of this out of racism... so don't even try to play that card with me! If you can't see it for what it is, and have to resort to such petty accusations then, in the words of Mr. T ... "I pity the fool"! Seriously, I am not attacking you.. I am only trying to make you see that is the lamest excuse on the planet. If our president is wrong please don't defend him with his skin color, or his gender... just hold him to account.. nuff said!

Thanks for the post.. it sure beats looking like the following... It pays to learn a little about those we will encounter in our lives, or as in this case with the dinar... I am no economist... but if I ran my own finances like our government I would be bankrupt or in jail a long time ago... so how is that being a "superpower"? It is time to get our heads out of the sand. Yes, I grew up loving this country, and still love what it has stood for. But to blindly think that what was will always be... no matter how foolishly we allow our government to spend our money... doesn't seem very wise to me. I am thinking of my kids, and grandkids to be. What kind of future are we giving them... a boatload of debt??? Mine is the first generation in American history that has not earned more than our parents (factoring in inflation), and I am 51.... and if we don't get out act together our kids are going to be way worse off than us. Not ranting here... seriously... just very, very concerned. It seems like it is going to take a miracle to get us out of the hole we have dug for ourselves. And believe me, I don't want to see this once great country go down the tubes. BUT no one... not even us Americans are invisible to the consequences of bad decisions and living beyond our means. God help us.
