  1. Did they see any good waves coming your way in the near future?
  2. Did you see the one about the Cheetos and the orange appendage? Gave me a chuckle.
  3. I always enjoyed reading his posts. It seemed like he always did his research, and rarely shot from the hip. He will be missed on the site, by most if not all. He is with God, as we all hope to be one day. That's all I can say, other than a quiet prayer.
  4. Good statement eagle, adults behind closed doors, their business. Forced on everyone, don't agree. I wonder what the Reverend Farakhan and the Muslim Brotherhood have in store for these new scouts and forthcoming scout leaders? What does Sharia law say about this? Being a Christian, I'm not that familiar with the Koran.
  5. Bamagirl, Very well said. Most people don't hate the person, they hate the sin. I pray for these sinners, but still wish the best in life for them.
  6. Don't know, but judging by the posts you put up, we all know what your opinions of Tea Party Conservatives are.
  7. Raised in S Fl. Used to go up coast every weekend to Ft Pierce, Sebastion, or Cocoa. Sebastion was always crowded with the Kelly Slater wanna bees, although at that time he was probably about 4 years old. We would go north to Spanish house. Nice break , less people. Never been to Veitnam or Sri Lanka. The wife is from South Africa. When we go to visit her family, usually end of summer , around March, we manage to spend a week at Jeffreys. Her family comes there to see her and I go to the Bilabong shop and rent a board. Have you ever surfed Lima? I like January best, middle of their summer. Great consistant waves, spent a month there. Averaged 3-5 for the entire month, and that's in the summer. Offshores till 1 P.M. SW England is also a great wave, swells don't hit until the fall, but when they do they look like lines of cordoroy. Water requires a suit though. Africa, at the end of summer, you could get away with a vest or sleeves. Lately it's been Cabo. There's a place for us geezers called Old Mans. It will hold a large face, but it crumbles, dosent pitch too much. I surfed Iceland once in the 70's, in the military at that time. The place was called Blacks Beach for the volcanic sand. A bit scary though, about 6 of us out, worried about being mistaken for a seal by a Orca. Good to chat with you. Always like surf stories from people who really surf.
  8. I agree with you expat. Too many mans in that paragraph. 1 to 6 foot, bull$*!?. If he would have said 4 to 6, or 6 to 8, more believeable. I think he's watched one too many Patrick Swayze and Keanu movies. This year will be 44 years in the water, started in 69. I might not be able to cut the mustard anymore but I can still lick the jar. Still get the same thrill. Fl.'s best waves are when we get long period ground swells from a hurricaine about 200 miles off the coast, with some light offshores. I'm in surfer heaven. Go RV.
  9. Old but still humorus, you get my laugh, and my plus.
  10. Because he actually makes going to jail a punishment. No workout rooms, no AC, they live in tents, wake up every morning and actually work for the citizens of Arizona. He stated that if tents were good enough for our soldiers, they were good enough for criminals. Unlike Chicago, who is broke, and has one of the most state of the art prisons on the planet, with all the amenities, that, in my opinion, criminals don't deserve. If you do the research I believe the recidivism rate for criminals, after they leave Joe's jail, of actually recommiting a crime in his county is about 5%. I can only imagine what Chicago's rate is. It becomes a difference of opinion whether jail is used as a deterent or a place to try to rehab criminals. If you study the recidivism rates of the different philosophys I believe the deterent works better. The problem is, it flys right in the face of emotion, oh the poor criminal. We all know which, for the most part, political party lives and argues on emotion, and which party argues on facts. As Shabs says, just my opinion.
  11. Some people actually think. Good for him. Thanks for the post.
  12. Heard it before, but forgot the punchline. Still laughed. Very good.
  13. Any discounts on guns and ammo ?
