25.0 We have Shabibi stating again, that a recognized GOI would precipitate the release of the RI/RV and that seems to be done. True, but the person at the chamber of commerce asked Shabibi this very question and he said that Shabibi said the GOI formed had no bearing on the RV. Read more: The one thing he did mention though was security. He said the security forces "need to become less busy with violence". My question is at what point does Shabibi think the security forces will become less busy with violence to RV the Dinar? I think this may be one of biggest factors delaying the RV at this point. My only concern would be if they only give us a small window to cash in. I have no problem holding out for $1.20 if they don't impose a deadline. We may be at a tipping point here. With Defense Secretary Gates' visit to remind M we're gone by the end of year, maybe M knows he can't delay this any longer. I don't know how he thinks they are capable of handling their own security without someone in that job. Just my simple mind thinking out loud!

Let's hope they can come to an agreement on someone and get this done! The US has already "reminded" them this week the longer it takes the greater the chance that US troops will have to stay in Iraq! Hopefully, they are taking it seriously now?!

I agree this has been drawn out for far too long but maybe (and that's a big maybe!) the US complaint plus the possibility of a delay in the withdrawal of our troops will provide the spark to get this done! I can't think of too many things the Iraqis want more than to have the infidels out of their country.
