  1. While i often find myself thinking WTF on some of the off topic post, and don't agree with some of the more suspect theories. I do think that the post are very easily figured out. You can see pretty clearly from the topic heading where things are going, and if you don't like it you should not read on. I am a conservative and I hope there is a good tree-shaking in the upcoming election, no matter how it falls out. So many people want their voice heard and their opinions to be taken as fact, and with that they often want to suppress differing views. I think that people on both sides of this issue are guilty of this. I will say that trying to hush voices that you don't agree with is not the way to defeat them. If you have a point to make, make it, if you have a piece of information that could enlighten others, please bring it. However, let's not try and segregate people because you don't want to read what they have to say. If you are worried about the heat then avoid the off-topic kitchen.
  2. Unfortunately this is untrue. It has been floating around for years on the internet ( first around 2003). So a funny story and one that would be interesting if true, but it is not.
  3. I don't respect Maher. I think he is a moron. Maher's choice of words were very poor, and he should get everything that is fired his way for that choice. However, people have said Jesus has "helped" Tebow win games...so where was Jesus in such a bad performance. The answer is in faith, bad things happen to people because if it was all easy than there is no need for faith. The problem for a lot of people is that when you give God credit for Tebow and the Broncos winning, then what do you do when Tebow and the Broncos come up short or have a really bad game. Maybe we should just give Tebow credit for his good and his bad. Because we invite comments like Maher's when we bring God/Jesus into the conversation. I don't want to believe in a God that spends his time impacting football games. There are too many other troubles in the world where God's efforts would do more good. So if people quit giving God credit for Tebow then no one would try and question faith or God when Tebow struggles. Maher was wrong and is a moron and that did not start with this particular comment. However, the more we talk about it the more we fuel Maher. Millions of people watch him and he has the mic, he gets the last word on his show and the people that watch do so because he is controversial. He will take all the outrage toward this comment and make it work for him. If we said "what a moron" and moved on he would get nothing. But, sadly we give him power by spending all this time and effort to try and put him down.
  4. Most of our Founding Fathers were Deists. They believed in God, however did not believe that God had a hand in our affairs. God created and left us to our own devices, is what they would have believed. So Christian in a sense, however; not what we would recognize as Christian. Please don't confuse our beliefs with our Founding Fathers beliefs. It would only serve to show that you did not know what you were talking about.
  5. Sanssouci, The Muslims and Jews weren't allied in Spain. They were both persecuted during the same time period, the Reconquista. The Jews were kicked out earlier than the Muslims (Moors) that occupied parts of Spain right up until 1492. The Christians are considered idolaters because they had statues and relics, at the time, that they worshiped, and still do. While true followers of Islam were forbidden to worship idols.
  6. For what it is worth, I read almost everything from you Scooter. I have always found the information you brought here interesting and informative. I don't say much here, but this situation is a shame. Thank you for your time.
  7. I could not agree more that most people who act like they know something know very little if anything. However, she was talking about her family "nightmare" not this investment. Everybody just needs to take deep breaths
  8. I like it. I just can't figure out how some people defend the crazy left field BS on this site and then give negatives to something like this unreal.
  9. The only time I saw race enter the conversation is by those people claiming that people are wrong about Obama's nationality. I could not care less what color his skin is. I don't agree with his policies, and if everyone that agrees with that goes out during the next campaign and supports the best candidate(which I am sure won't be Obama) than we don't have to worry about any problems with his nationality(if there are any). It is funny how every political debate during this administration comes down to a bunch of people screaming racism. I think it is sad that the only people that talk about race are the ones who claim to defend it. I support the USA and Obama is my current president, I don't have to like it , but rather than taking issue with things that are out of our control now, let's make sure we do something about it in the next election.
  10. I knew there was one big butt in this hole Rv thing. Does anyone else think this is how they seat their new ministers? Ok it's out of my system.
  11. I agree. Lately I think a bunch of people have joined this site just to see how many pages of comments they can get. There is no worth in so many post lately.
  12. In a logical argument essicaja your argument does not pass. You can not use the evidence that March 1 hasn't happened to prove something as fact. You may be right that no one can prove you wrong until that day, but it is not fact. You would fail any logic or philosophy class with that kind of argument. You may be 100% correct but again your assertion that it is a fact, for the reasons you give, does not make it a Fact.
  13. And just like in Black Jack never over extend yourself, when your money is gone know to walk away, and for you viktor, if you don't want to play don't sit down at the table. Your first post is this? Did you just come here to try and stir the pot? If you think this makes no sense than why come in here and post? I think everyone is entitled to an opinion, but if you just want to try and stir things up spare us the rhetoric.
  14. I don't think he will need an attorney since I doubt it happened. There has been a rash of new members on here in the last several days with bank rumors involving terrorism funding and dinar investment. I for one am disregarding any further stories of this kind.
  15. What are all the banks that sold them going to do? Come on, if nothing else that is a pretty good sign that it can't be illegal (not that banks are a bastion of truth). These rumors belong in the recipe section: Get big pot pour in BS and stir.
  16. I think he is referring to 3 new interviews not websites.
  17. Bang I have to say that I think I had you a little wrong. You have been pretty diverse in your post and I have disagreed with a few recently; however, over the last couple of days you are the most positive voice on here. I appreciate your post, so thanks.
  18. Kicked you a + Hope. I know, from the few months I have been following and the few weeks of being a member, that this is frustrating especially when people with little knowledge and even less patience post form out of nowhere. Hopefully we all only have to put up with this for a short time more. Here's hoping and good luck everyone.
  19. I understand the frustration, however, the poster that started the thread has been on here almost as long as most of you who have called the poster out for being a newbie. This person just doesn't post as often as some. I think the question is bad as well, but make your comments about their lack of knowledge not their status. I have been on here less time than most of you does that make me an idiot?
  20. "Many U.S. communities are creating their own currencies now. " BanG, I understand you said states, however the article that you are using says "communities" in the first sentence. I understand the concern, but the facts are the facts. Your article points to communities and that is all. SC has discussed and we will see.
  21. What was on the links that were posted here earlier is that the budget is retro. to Jan 1 2011. So I think you guys are a little off.
  22. It is a long way from small communities printing a currency that works more like a discount card to states printing their own money. The states aren't printing communities are, SC has talked about it and most economist have stated that there is no way the system could work. I think things are in a bad way right now, however; maybe we shoud all just take a break from the hysteria.
  23. I wish everyone took an approach like this, it would make this whole thing a lot easier to deal with. I read a lot of what you say Scooby Doo and you seem to be one of the most grounded here. Thanks
  24. I need to clarify, what I meant was this guy being a conspiracy guy does NOT make him wrong. I put does make him wrong. Any way thought I would make that correction.
  25. The guy who wrote this piece (Andrew Gavin Marshall) is a conspiracy theorist who has written about the Kennedy assassination as well. It does make him wrong, but when he ties guys together from Kennedy to the Watergate break in I have to wonder how much weight to put with his theories. One site says he is a professor, but not of what or form where. I do not pretend to know, I just thought some more info was required.
