Well, I used to post a few times. Now i just crawl. I have to admit i feel it will lop/re-denominate....whatever you want to call it. I'm in it for the very, very slim hope we will make a pittance Now.....I was at a point when i watched this site as well as other ALL DAY. FOR DAYS, WEEKS, MONTHS i watched, learned, absorbed, all the info i could. Until one day, i said, wow.......If they don't R/D then this would have to be the biggest world wide currency manipulation ever to happen on the face of the planet......EVER...... At that point, i realized......Iraq is really not that important. They are a war torn country who is trying to survive, not make us rich beyond our wildest dreams but to not get bombed tomorrow. I'm not interested in rehashing old CBI news postings, or IMF docs or WTO docs or shabbs or whatever. I don't care that they have the Arab summit this year instead of last, or crap load of oil, gas, gold, silver, bronze, platinum, apple pies, or whatever they put on their book.........THEY CANT PAY FOR IT,. Wake up and go about you life. when i do check it this carnival ride out, it is always the same people who are commenting, very astutely i might add. Whether they on the side of the RV or the RD. All I',m saying unless you have an alternate motive, Stop living on this crap. if we make millions great:) if we make a pittance, OK , if we lose......well, I'm glade i didn't wake up early and waste my life talking to strangers about how it will RV/RD/Lop/Flop....whatever Use it wisely as you will never get this time back

Ok, so here is my $.02. In regards to turkey and Brazil, I cannot seem to find (and I have looked) for the citizen education program the like of which we have seen here in Iraq. Daily articles explaining point blank what they are planning on doing and in such volumes. Now the downside to that is the internet was not nearly as advanced then as it is now and information was not as readily available to the world masses. What I mean by that is….there are many, many, many, articals coming out, that point to a lop (sorry, but anyone who cannot see that, well it’s not my fault). However…… Earlier this year, there were many articles pointing to treasury department having agents there helping Iraq, In fact I seem to remember a help wanted ad that was to employ someone who had knowledge of accession into the wto. Please correct me if I’m wrong on this. Also, the payroll cuts. Why would they cut payroll only to cut it more. Now I have come pretty closer to giving up hope on this investment, because I truly believe that if in fact Iraq RD’s…we who hold cash will be SOL unless we want to go to Iraq to exchange it or you have an account there. But, there is a small part of me that thinks this may in fact be a Strategic maneuver to dispel further investments in their currency. If I’m Iraq and I know that there are so many world speculators on their currency, and I don’t come out and say hey, we are not RV’ing we are RD’ing, well that would piss off a lot of people and probably put investments into their country into a lull for a while. (or have they already said this is what they are doing??????)

It sounds like they are hording Dollars, so when they change the currency they can buy lower denoms with the stockpiled Dollars and ride the value up from there. Don't really know if this is good for us or bad, but that is what i got from it.

Easy, I have always respected and admired your optimism. But one of the things that stick in my mind, is....The articles that come out to me seem to point to a R/D. now do I hope that I’m wrong, well of course I do. But, the companies that are in Iraq now, the security, cellular, oil…..the really major dollar/IQD makers……well, they put in $1.00 that is $1.00 of investment, if they RD it is still $1.00 because it is not in IQD. They are not building there towers, refineries security in IQD. And if they are then it is still equal dollars/euro./….. For these major companies, this is already factored in, and just like our $25.00 is worth $25K(rounded obviously) so is their’s and they know that. Man…..I hope I’m wrong

Hi Folks, Not looking to get bashed her(although I know it is inevitable) but just coming to realization after watching/reading the news for some time now. Facts are, Iraq has been nonexistent in the media for quite some time, but is recently coming more and more into play as our budget/deficit/spending are coming into play in the elections, Iraq/Afghanistan is becoming more and more prominent. Trillions spent. Folks, I work very hard every day in my day job and I read this Iraqi dinar stuff all the time. I have been a believer in the “smoke screen” theory for the majority of the time, but the evidence has become quite compelling. This is a country that we invaded to get rid of a dictator that “supposedly” was a part of our attacks. Whether that is true or not is up to you, I’m not here to debate that. But the fact of the matter in my opinion is we are helping to rebuild a country that was the start of a region rebuilding program(Iraq, Afghanistan, Egypt, Libya, Syria……). Having a democracy across that region is in my opinion much more important to our security and the security of the world then this revalue that we all hope for. If I recall correctly they just advertised they brought a big jet full of Libyan dinar out of Europe to the region. Will this be the next IQD revalue the next online group will hope for? I'm sure okie and the like can make it sound that way. I have come to believe that, the IQD will RD and the new lower denoms will be worth the same as the notes we all hold (3 zeros) until they are removed from circulation. Will I sell…..well no, I only invested what I would spend on 2 weeks in Disney with my family, and I hope I’m wrong. But my eyes are opening WIDE. Go ahead bash away……..

Hi usndiver, I'm not saying that a currency dealer does not have a unique arrangement with fedex. It is all about volume after all. I would be surprised if they do not. But for you, I and the OP, I'm quite certain that, the same deal does not apply. You can fill out your international shipping label and put whatever you want in the description section, but yes, fedex can open it and look at it, it can get checked by customs, and it can get get lost. If any of the mentioned happens you will more likely then not be up the creek. Especially if it gets lost. How will you claim it? Although it is not a trad-able currency it is still a currency. Call them. I have Not trying to stir the pot by any means, but if the op is looking for the safest way, all I'm saying is do your due diligence.

Hi Nadita, No disrespect intended here, like you said, you want to do research before you ship with fedex. If it gets check at customes for whatever reason or gets lost you will be up the creek without a paddle. I deal with fedex everyday, and have inquired about shipping currency with my account rep. It is not allowed. You can call for yourself and verify. Crackerman, I'm not saying you won't receive the package, but like Nadita said, just look at the risk and call fedex first and make an informed decision.

I agree, If they are putting a re-denomination right in front of our faces,(which we all hope is not the case and it is the "smoke and mirrors") the only good thing to come from it is that, at least it appears with the extended exchange period we will more likely then not, not have to go to iraq to exchange. That to me is the best of a worst case scenario.

One thing that strikes me as odd is that in this letter attachment, they do mention that Iraq announced they will be re-denominating there currency on the June 21st. From everything i can find, that is just not accurate. All I found is that they announced they will be re-denominating on Thursday June, 23rd. So unless the Treasury found out before everyone else.......well......... These are just some examples. Hi RV, I dont really know if this is all that bad. The way I took this, and I could be wrong, is that.... By converting 100mil. Dinar to 100K Dinar would more likely then not be followed by many lawsuits and this should be given more thought. I don't think that is all bad. The fact that they want to save a buck by using fedex is not your problem. I know that you are aware of all the possible outcomes as most here do, and we will debate all day long R/D, no R/D, why they can R/V and why they cant, which is great. But I'm with you. Our investment is going to do what it is going to do and there is nothing any of us can do about it so why why not look at the positive, but keep the negative the back of the mind to stay grounded.
