  1. These phones are also 1st choice for drug dealers since they cannot be tracked like normal cell phones. There are articles all over the internet about the abuse with this program. The phones were intended to be used for emergency contact and to assist in getting jobs. Very few are actually used for that purpose. There are still a large number of welfare, food stamp recipients that have iPhones with unlimited internet and data but they can't afford to pay for their food.

  3. There has been some recent buzz about the House of Representatives proposing more cuts to veterans’ benefits. This time, the focus has fallen on VA Healthcare and excluding some veterans over others. Here is what you need to know about the debate. The House Budget Committee is looking at possible plans to cut $6 billion from VA Healthcare for 1.3 million veterans who are in Priority Group 7 and 8. Roughly 10 percent of these, some 130,000 veterans, will be forced out of the VA system with no available alternatives. Veterans from Group 7 & 8 have either a 0 percent service-connection or no service-connected rating. While this does not mean the veteran is fit as a fiddle, it does imply they do not need the amount of care needed for other vets. These veterans pay co-pay and have incomes over $32,000 and net-worths under $80,000, depending on geography. In other words, they aren’t dirt poor but certainly not wealthy, either. The Congressional Budget Office believes the U.S. can save $62 billion over the next 10 years by removing services for these veterans altogether. According to the agency, 90 percent of the veterans in question have access to some form other healthcare other than VA funded. However, the CBO does not comment on whether the alternative healthcare is affordable. VA is not currently using Subpriority e. Subpriority g: Nonservice-connected veterans not included in Subpriority c above. VA is not currently using Subpriority g. Priority Group 8 New regulations now allow VA to enroll certain Priority Group 8 Veterans who have been previously denied enrollment in the VA health care system because their income exceeded VA's income thresholds. These Veterans may now qualify if their household income does not exceed the current VA income thresholds by more than 10 percent. Veterans with income and/or net worth above the VA national income thresholds and the Geographic Means Test Threshold who agree to pay copays may be eligible to enroll under the following conditions: Veterans eligible for enrollment: Noncompensable 0% service-connected and: Subpriority a: Enrolled as of January 16, 2003, and who have remained enrolled since that date and or placed in this subpriority due to changed eligibility status Subpriority b: Enrolled on or after June 15, 2009 whose income exceeds the current means test or geographic means test by 10% or less Veterans eligible for enrollment: Nonservice-connected and: Subpriority c: Enrolled as of January 16, 2003, and who have remained enrolled since that date and/or placed in this subpriority due to changed eligibility status Subpriority d: Enrolled on or after June 15, 2009 whose income exceeds the current means test or geographic means test by 10% or less Veterans not eligible for enrollment: Veterans not meeting the criteria above Subpriority e: Noncompensable 0% service-connected Subpriority g: Nonservice-connected
  4. Instead of taking the word of a democratic leaning website that only supports democratic candidates, why don't you also read Paul Ryan's website since he is the one that authored the legislation. PaulRyan.gov Path to Prosperity The Path to Prosperity budget passed by the House increases funding for services and benefits earned by veterans from $128.3 billion in fiscal year 2012 to $164.4 billion in 2021, $155 million above the President’s request. Furthermore, the budget authorizes $52.5 billion in advance appropriations for fiscal year 2013, marking a record funding level for veterans health programs. This includes full funding for the Veterans Health Administration, giving the VA the capability to provide medical care for veterans and eligible dependents without restriction on priority groups’ access. The House-passed budget recognizes the sacrifices that veterans and their families have made to ensure the continued security of our nation, and provides funding to afford the best care possible that veterans have bravely earned.
  5. Warrior 100K On April 26-28, 2012, twenty servicemen and women wounded in Iraq or Afghanistan will join President George W. Bush for a 100 kilometer mountain bike ride in Palo Duro Canyon State Park. As part of the George W. The three-day event provides an opportunity to highlight the good work of military support organizations and is sponsored by several companies and individuals that have generously contributed their time and resources to support America’s servicemen and women. The 2011 W100 was the first event for the Military Service Initiative of the Bush Center. ******************** This is the 2nd year - the 1st ride was a huge success and some of the riders returned this year.

  8. Try this thought experiment: You decide to donate money to Mitt Romney. You want change in the Oval Office, so you engage in your democratic right to send a check. Several days later, President Barack Obama, the most powerful man on the planet, singles you out by name. His campaign brands you a Romney donor, shames you for "betting against America," and accuses you of having a "less-than-reputable" record. The message from the man who controls the Justice Department (which can indict you), the SEC (which can fine you), and the IRS (which can audit you), is clear: You made a mistake donating that money. Are you worried? Richard Nixon's "enemies list" appalled the country for the simple reason that presidents hold a unique trust. Unlike senators or congressmen, presidents alone represent all Americans. Their powers—to jail, to fine, to bankrupt—are also so vast as to require restraint. Any president who targets a private citizen for his politics is de facto engaged in government intimidation and threats. This is why presidents since Nixon have carefully avoided the practice. Save Mr. Obama, who acknowledges no rules. This past week, one of his campaign websites posted an item entitled "Behind the curtain: A brief history of Romney's donors." In the post, the Obama campaign named and shamed eight private citizens who had donated to his opponent. Describing the givers as all having "less-than-reputable records," the post went on to make the extraordinary accusations that "quite a few" have also been "on the wrong side of the law" and profiting at "the expense of so many Americans." These are people like Paul Schorr and Sam and Jeffrey Fox, investors who the site outed for the crime of having "outsourced" jobs. T. Martin Fiorentino is scored for his work for a firm that forecloses on homes. Louis Bacon (a hedge-fund manager), Kent Burton (a "lobbyist") and Thomas O'Malley (an energy CEO) stand accused of profiting from oil. Frank VanderSloot, the CEO of a home-products firm, is slimed as a "bitter foe of the g a y rights movement." These are wealthy individuals, to be sure, but private citizens nonetheless. Not one holds elected office. Not one is a criminal. Not one has the barest fraction of the position or the power of the U.S. leader who is publicly assaulting them. "We don't tolerate presidents or people of high power to do these things," says Theodore Olson, the former U.S. solicitor general. "When you have the power of the presidency—the power of the IRS, the INS, the Justice Department, the DEA, the SEC—what you have effectively done is put these guys' names up on 'Wanted' posters in government offices." Mr. Olson knows these tactics, having demanded that the 44th president cease publicly targeting Charles and David Koch of Koch Industries, which he represents. He's been ignored. The real crime of the men, as the website tacitly acknowledges, is that they have given money to Mr. Romney. This fundraiser of a president has shown an acute appreciation for the power of money to win elections, and a cutthroat approach to intimidating those who might give to his opponents. He's targeted insurers, oil firms and Wall Street—letting it be known that those who oppose his policies might face political or legislative retribution. He lectured the Supreme Court for giving companies more free speech and (falsely) accused the Chamber of Commerce of using foreign money to bankroll U.S. elections. The White House even ginned up an executive order (yet to be released) to require companies to list political donations as a condition of bidding for government contracts. Companies could bid but lose out for donating to Republicans. Or they could quit donating to the GOP—Mr. Obama's real aim. The White House has couched its attacks in the language of "disclosure" and the argument that corporations should not have the same speech rights as individuals. But now, says Rory Cooper of the Heritage Foundation, "he's doing the same at the individual level, for anyone who opposes his policies." Any giver, at any level, risks reprisal from the president of the United States. It's getting worse because the money game is not going as Team Obama wants. Super PACs are helping the GOP to level the playing field against Democratic super-spenders. Prominent financial players are backing Mr. Romney. The White House's new strategy is thus to delegitimize Mr. Romney (by attacking his donors) as it seeks to frighten others out of giving. The Obama campaign has justified any action on the grounds that it has a right to "hold the eventual Republican nominee accountable," but this is a dodge. Politics is rough, but a president has obligations that transcend those of a candidate. He swore an oath to protect and defend a Constitution that gives every American the right to partake in democracy, free of fear of government intimidation or disfavored treatment. If Mr. Obama isn't going to act like a president, he bolsters the argument that he doesn't deserve to be one. Wall Street Journal

  11. Prayers are going out as I type but I would also like to offer something you may want to look into. There are many companies online that hire people to work from their homes as call center operators. (We are certainly familiar with the prospect of talking to someone in India when you have a problem.) Well there are companies here in the US that will hire you to do the same thing. I do not know what training you have so I am not going to suggest any specific company. In 2006 ABC ran a special with Tory Johnson ABCNews In the article she mentions several companies that hire call center operators. These operators work from the comfort of their home at hours they choose. The pay is not outstanding but there is no driving expense, clothing expense, etc. I know they are legit because I worked for one for a few months myself. You are paid during your training period too. The only cost I had was about $30 for a background investigation (because I was dealing with personal information from clients) and the internet connection, computer, dedicated telephone line, telephone and headset. Each company lists their skill requirements, some are technical, but none of them sound really difficult. These are not companies that offer to find you a job for a fee! They are real companies hiring you for a real job. Please check them out - might be just the thing you need - no day care cost involved. BTW since 2006, there are other companies besides the ones listed on ABC, just google "Call Center Opportunities" and you will see there are plenty. Good Luck
  12. I could go back and count the numbers for accuracy but with just a quick scan of the charts, I would guess the overlay to the Democrats far outweighs the Republicans. In some of the groups, there are only one or two Rep and the remainder are Democrats. Interestingly in the Big Oil chart, there is no Republican overlay - only Democrat. The Comcast and Media charts are the same, no Republican. Even more strange is the Keystone Pipeline is also all Democrat overlay. Even the Enron chart (the one the Republican's are vilified for in the media) only has 2 overlaps for Reps, the rest are Democrat. Then you have the Defense Contractors - NO Republicans. Green Energy - No Republicans. AFL-CIO - of course, No Republicans. Oh yeah, Planned Parenthood - No Republicans Yep, interesting information.

  14. They openly promote the Communist Party USA on their site.
  15. "Other sites in the People Before Profit network: Communist Party USA / Young Communist League" This article is from a "Communist" website with nothing but far-left rhetoric. A google search turns up nothing from any other source. Every article is a reprint of this one. There was only slight reference to this event in other articles and none of them had the fear mongering as the article above.
