Not sure where you're at in Iraq but it also has something to do with pilgrimage, bombings and not only the visas. Talk to your RSO. Read your e-mails and alerts and you will see this to be true also. But you are right, has nothing to do with an RV.

There is a travel issue that was originally for just the 6th and 7th and I believe has extended to the 9th January. It has something to do with closing the roadways internally for a pilgrimage I was told. I also have a man on R&R who was sent an e-mail informing him his trip back was delayed. He called me this morning.They are not issuing visas for now either. This has nothing to with sanctions but is an internal decision by Iraq. They have denied access to Triple Canopy (Security Contractor) thru the checkpoints so convoys and escorts are at a standstill. We are still flying via DoS helos intra- Iraq though but no travel going out or coming in for a few days.This is temporary.

Eight years of experience in Iraq with many conversations and observations with a front row seat. I don't claim to know anything at all but, neither does any of these other sayers on the site. The proof is that the dinar is still at the same worth it has been for many years with a few minor fluctuations. Not being negative, you can believe anyone of these "secret squirrels" that post, not my business.

There are plenty of contractors in Iraq. Every once in a while there are bumps in the road with the travel issues, for example on the 6t and 7th Jan. And just to let you know, the security units in Iraq don't have anymore information about an RV than you would in the U.S. I have talked with very high ranking DoS personnel now and in the past who have access to the Iraqi higher ups here in Baghdad and they have no information. This (RV) is not the top of their list of priorities when dealing with Iraq. There have been a few explosions here lately but it comes and goes. Back in Feb. 2011 it was every other day and to me worse.Please don't be easily impressed by someone trying to impress you with their "Boots on the Ground" stories. They don't know anymore than you do from your sofa in the good ole USA.

The place is very unstable and unpredictable. The explosions you are talking about are near where I am located and this happens on a regular basis. You only get bits and pieces on the news.

This is the exact truth! All the financial wizards on this site and other sites have been absolutely wrong when it comes to the dinar. Most seem to be in it for a popularity contest with lots of praise and followers as an award. If you leave the sites for a few months, I guarantee you will come right back to the same rhetoric without skipping a beat. It RVs or is very close every other day. This has been the norm for years. Matter of fact there are a couple of these personnel I speak of on this thread right now.You would think most people would catch on after the first few times it has RV! The forums are pretty much for entertainment only and most of the time I just shake my head in disbelief and LOL!
