I think what is maybe going on is D.O.Habank is a different (english) word than is Doha bank a (middle east word).... They are too different words spelled the same way to be sure....and when you put the kw on the, it would take you to the word referencing the bank. And yeah that letter is totally strange....

You have absolutely no idea how much I would love to be able to figure out things that to ya'll appear so simple. Can't tell time either unless its analog,... digitial has no relational meaning. Its this little thing neuros like to call dyscalculia.... When it comes to numbers, its like my brain stroked or something. Fortunately my IQ is off the chart on the other side of the brain and I do have 4 graduate degrees.... (yes, four) analytical abilities keep me in the markets.... And you wouldn't belive some of the stupid things I have to depend upon for it all to make sense : PS For those who wonder... fortunately as a Wizo, it was all relational, absent significant arithmetic requirements, statistical analysis lives in a different part of the brain, and as a divemaster, I use analog dials for air, even though my wireless arm piece carries that info..

Thanks TNDinarman!!!!!! Gotta love a math guy... I somehow missed this before I posted. Probably reading too many pages at once. Still no math whiz here, but I really like your numbers much better..... and it seems more likely in that it takes in the KWD relative to IQD in extrapolating the USD.

I am no math whiz.... not even close.... but it looks like the rate is .1 against the Kuwaiti dinar. So wouldn't that mean there are other numbers that have to go into the equation before we get a .35 USD?

Not sure if this fits in to someone's scenario or not. Can't wrap my brain around the zeros discussion.... too convoluted for my brain cells to digest. However, a colleague of mine in Iraq just sent me two of the new 50 dinar coins. They are not the old Saddam currency, They are new, I am going to guess that this 50 dinar coin replaces the 50 dinar bill? ........or is at least the same as a 50 dinar bill. A colleague in Bangkok said he was going to send me several other coins from the new currency. I am going to guess (totally guess) that in exchanging the smaller bills over days and months of transactions would wear the bills out , and perhaps the CBI is going to replace those smaller bills with coins?... or at least have the coin option? The coin shows the same "worht" as the 50 dinar bill. When I get the other coins, I will post their denomination.... I forgot to look.... Apart from being a dinar investor (2004) I collect way way too many coins and didn't think to mentally record what these were worth.

Great post and one to keep in mind when reading the site I have linked in my last post. Very important to note that this is not an actual indicator of a "trade pair" and is not being actively traded as are other pairs. Frankly I got tired of the static number listed on the cbi site, and much preferred watching a number change, even though it is not wholey meaningful in terms of RV.... I went back and looked at my logs.... the IQD was not on the XE Universal Currency Converter last Thursday/Friday (week ago yesterday).

Chris.... really? I had to load it on mine.... Now I am going to go check and see if I have any trail/record to see when that was I last did that (before noting it this evening...) Whatever I am using, it wasnt on there for weeks and now it is.... So that leaves me a goof ball... or on to something... (or not). Its kind of like one of those 10 million piece puzzles...and you hope you didn't drop one of the critical mass pieces.... lol Thanks! Okay... thats 2 of you... .... I have to go try to figure out what I was doing and why the change.... I have been watching Forex and playing with some of my analysis software. Last week I had to manually load IQD as a currency. I just noticed this evening that Forex now actually lists IQD as an actual comparative currency..... implying to me at least, that it is comparable to 'other' "world currencies". Did I miss something on Forex earlier in the week.... or is this new? I have no idea if this portends the arrival of an RV, or is even suggestive. However, it would seem odd that Forex would post this for a comparable relationship, if such a relationship were not possible. Okay, please help. What am I missing? You guys are great !!! Keep the faith,..... Hang in there, ......it will RV. PS I didn't download the spell checker herein, and am not running it through Word before submitting. And no, I can't spell worth beans

Ahhh understood it is not yet regulated by SEC as that which is traded and not on Forex for sure. I stand corrected and should have put the "insider trading" in quotes, or at least said something like the equavilent of "insider trading".laws (though that is what my brother called it.. maybe his shorthand as well in knowing we both trade across many of the boards, and Forex as well, and therein understand the meaning of the concept). In any case it would violate those banking laws set in place to prohibit the disclosure of this information, and as insider trading in concept, could result in federal incarceration, were it discovered, (with trial and conviction in adding clarity... lol )... I think it is safe to say that no higher level banking executive would disclose ahead of the announcement, something that they actually "knew" about the dinar, even if it were to a really close, loved and bestest sister on the planet... Agreed. My brother is a WF Executive, at top of the food chain for his region..... said he hadn't heard about dinar until I told him. He also said even if he did know something, there is no way he could say anything to anyone as it comes under the insider info/trading laws. He also said all of us who may know something are very familiar with those laws and there is no way someone would risk chatting about it. It is somewhat possible that perhaps a manager or supervisor may have heard something about it and not knowing the magnitude of what they heard, passed it on in friendly fashion by way of making some assumptions or conclusions. However as pervious posts have stated, anyone in banking who really "knew" with certainity want was going on, would not be able to pass that on.... BTW, my brother did put in an order for Dinar after we spoke Happy New Year to All !!!
