  1. Flash101 is right - the question isn't an RV KWD to the USD. It's the IQD to the KWD. The IQD is to revalue - and when it does, it's trading exchange rate will change against all currencies that it's traded against. The KWD to the USD happened nearly 20 years ago. Read history.
  2. To all fellow dinarians - a request to share where there are banking centers or branches that have de la Rue machines on the premises in order to help direct holders to locations where instant verification can occur rather than sending them out for verification (as reputed to be the practice at several banks cited so far). Thanks in advance for sharing. Please list city and state, and if possible, specific branch. Archduke

A friend called 5/3 (Fifth/Third Bank) today - local city where I live in NC. The person they talked to said 5/3 stopped selling dinar last week and will not be dealing in it at all. So he called their headquarters - looked up the commercial foreign currency division number. Same story - didn't know why, only that they wouldn't be dealing in it, and that was a national decision. Also said for any personal foreign currency needs to visit local banking center - read 5/3 branch - and they'd help. But not for the dinar. Another one stands down; the question is---temporarily?
  4. Just finished opening IQD and USD accounts at Warka. Took just over a week - all by e-mail. Debit MC to follow, but they're evidently implementing a new system. Corresponding U.S. bank is Citibank.
  5. Yesterday at 1:12 p.m. - Friend of mine went into BOA in suburb of Chicago Friday. Asking about cashing in dinar - procedures etc. Of course the tellers knew NOTHING. BUT, the head currency trader came out as it was close to the end of the day and said "Look, it will be online Tuesday so just come back then and we will cash you in." Read more: Now, Tuesday at 3:57 p.m., to add to the BoA story, my wife went by BoA to make a transaction today late morning in a suburb of Charlotte. The bank lobby and drive-through were closed. Sign was posted - "closed for the day". No indication of when they would re-open. There had been no indication of a closing last Friday. This part is fact. The inference? I'm not even going to speculate, but if it or the Charlotte locations are closed, then perhaps it is RV related.
  6. FYI: Have been following this site and others for some time. Mid-Atlantic region. Systemwide memo from BB&T today, Monday, Jan. 24, from one of their personnel via friend in same industry indicated that corp. had discontinued selling - no reason given. Could be supply drying up, training, too little business through local Fed to want to bother with it, etc. Just don't know. Archduke P.S. Saw this site posted Saturday; took screen shot then. IQD rate at bottom left is .0002 less from Saturday, but still in the neighborhood. Where's this coming from? England? Germany? http://www.iraq.alloexpat.com/marketplace/classifieds
