  1. Jerks like you are the reason there is so much hostility here. In fact, I have a request for Adam: PLEASE BAN ME. In fact, ban my IP so I can't even view this site anymore. The pervading attitude of people like the scumbag I quoted has run rampant on this board. I thought I was contributing to a community of thought and idea, trying to share while, at the same time, learning in turn from others. Obviously, since I'm not a VIP, I'm some freeloading douchebag. I know this is not Adam's opinion, and do not wish to make that statement. However, the vitriol present in many of the members of this community makes me not want to be a part anymore. Its amazing how a few bad seeds, when left unchecked, can ruin a good thing. I'm sure the whiny, pathetic flamefest will continue long after I'm gone. I'm out. -Rev
  2. Ugh, from one extreme to the other. First off, I appreciate all the work Adam puts into the site. But please, lets not pretend that the man doesn't make money on all the advertising. Nothing is free. In addition, he also makes money on the VIP service. Again, I appreciate that Adam gives us this place to share ideas and catch up on the latest news, but he also gets a benefit from it. To act like we should all be groveling at his feet is ridiculous. He just doesn't want to be disrespected on his own site. Let's agree to respect each other and keep the dialogue civil. I don't see what's so hard about that. I don't like having my intelligence insulted because I'm not a VIP, just like you don't like being insulted for being one.
  3. Oh, so it's this thread again...
  4. That seems to be the prevailing wisdom. Nobody knows for sure though.
  5. Wow, get off your soap box. She didn't belligerently attack anyone. Her comment was sarcastic, not belligerent. And, by the way, you did pretty much the same exact thing you accused her of doing. The only difference is she didn't actually do anything wrong. This is a forum, where people come to share their opinion. You just want to squash all dialogue that doesn't fit your worldview. Just because you type in a ridiculous purple, bolded, larger font, doesn't make you right. It makes you annoying. And don't use my Lord as justification to berate someone. It's insulting.
  6. Wow, I'm about to drown in the tears of the OP. He seems to have a fundamental misunderstanding of what a rumor is, so I'll help him. ru·mor /ˈrumər/ Show Spelled[roo-mer] 1. a story or statement in general circulation without confirmation or certainty as to facts 2. gossip; hearsay 3. Archaic . a continuous, confused noise; clamor; din. Sounds like the mother's brother's friend's uncle stories you complain about (quite annoyingly, I might add) are the EXACT DEFINITION OF A RUMOR. If you want a link and verifiable information, there is a section for that. Just because you come into the Rumor Section, of your own volition, and choose to read information that is complete hearsay, does not give you the right to start a thread whining about it. NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO READ.
  7. Just a thought.... If this is indeed true, does anyone else get the feeling that this has Iran/Sadr written all over it? I mean, look what just happened with Lebanon... Edit: uncs beat me to it.
  8. * Kaperoni and friend translation of CBI Press Release… January 13, 2011 03:28 pm · Posted in CHATS / POSTS · Comments Off LINK ~ CBI Press Release Hey Kap, Did a quick translation of it. The article is basically a CBI press release addressing a problem that they are having. They are claiming that there are a group of people (it isn’t clear if these people are extremists, terrorists, etc) that are trying to interfere in the workings of the CBI and they do not want the CBI to work with the GOI on issue of economic development of the country and are trying to impede any economic growth that the CBI plans to implement. They are stating that this pertains to all economic matters, including the Dinar. They didn’t specify what about the Dinar, etc, but I guess we can imagine what exactly they are try to delay about the Dinar (RV). The press release goes on to say that CBI is taking the appropriate measures to protect itself and deal according with any unnecessary influence or pressures in their affairs and the economic affairs of Iraq and the GOI. As for my opinion, I am not surprised. There is so much involved with the RV and the Oil wealth of Iraq that I am sure that there are those who want Iraq to fail and want things to be in chaos. So this is to be expected, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it because I am sure the Powers in Charge that want the RV are going to do whatever they have to prevent these people from interfering and will go after them to prevent such interference in the CBI. You can post this if you want, but I think it would create absolute chaos on the forums because everyone is going to be looking for an explanation and the press release is pretty basic and doesn’t give out any details. So I am sure the flood gates of speculation will be wide open if this is posted, LOL. But it doesn’t matter to me. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Here is a working link
  9. Posts like this are the reason I almost never check this site anymore. A bunch of bitter bashers, crying about every rumor that comes out and attacking anyone that posts. It's in the rumor section. I don't get why people get so angry over something labeled as a rumor. I don't believe any of the rumors, but they're entertaining to read. I would rather be able to have the information and decide for myself than have everything censored. This is why people don't share info here anymore. If they did have a decent source, they probably got bashed so hard they never wanted to post again. All you're going to get is pumpers now, since you've run anyone with even a shred of intel, reliable or not, out of town. When did people start being so cruel? I almost hope it never RVs. I would hate to see some of you people with money. Angry, ruthless, vitriolic..... and money would only make it worse.
  10. This is everything that is wrong with this forum. All med and mm17 try to do is analyze the news coming out of Iraq and give their opinion on the matter. They don't claim to have super secret intel. All they have is knowledge of the politics of the region and an analytical mind. Now, if you disagree with their opinions, fine. But to bash them just because they don't spoonfeed you dates and rates is ridiculous. That's not what they do. They don't give out dates and rates. They try to understand, based on actual news articles, what steps are needed in order for an RV to happen. This is nothing that any one of us couldn't do if given enough time to study and understand the politics, culture, and banking system in Iraq. Some people value their advice, other don't. It's OPINIONS. All you want is a date and rate so that, when it doesn't come true, you can bash the crap out of them and make yourself feel better about having to wait.
  11. All the "price gouging" posts are hilarious. No one is forcing you to buy dinars from DT. And the buyback price used to be in the mid $800s so yes, it too has gone up. The man makes money on transactions. If his supply is getting tight, he is raising his buyback price to entice people who are tired of the ride into selling back to him with a small profit or loss. Then he can turn around and send them right back out the door and pocket the difference, minus his operating costs. For the record, SafeDinar.com is still only asking $1050-1090/million uncirculated 25k IQD notes (price depends on quantity). I have used them for all my dinar purchases in the past, and they have been nothing but reliable and professional. Next day FedEx if you order before 3pm. If people started exploring cheaper alternatives, maybe he would be forced to lower his prices to compete. If he is still selling all his dinar no matter what the price, what exactly is his incentive to lower his prices? Do some research people. There is more than one place to buy your dinars, many of whom provide the same exact experience DT does. DT for some reason seems to get all the buzz, but that does not mean you're forced to go through them.
  12. It's the rumor section, I don't think he needs a link. I would, however, like to get more info. Is this his rumor, or did he get it from someone? I would like to see the genesis of this post.
  13. And for the record, if it decreases in value during transit, I wouldn't pay anything other than the $24 shipping cost. After all, I'm actually making the purchase when I hand over the money. Why would I pay more for something than it's worth? Nice try though, attempting to spin my argument.
  14. If you don't mind explaining, how do you know they've been loaded with 250 IQD? More information would be appreciated.
  15. I'm glad you finally agree that I am right. Your arrogance is surpassed only by your cluelessness.
  16. Ugh, it's not unethical if you agree to it when you order. Fools like him make my blood boil. They're the reason socialized medicine was passed. People demonizing businesses for making a profit. Just because a situation sucks doesn't mean its unethical. Some people refuse to see things from more than one point of view. They get an emotional reaction to a situation because of the negative repercussions on themselves, and immediately look for someone to be the bad guy. Sometimes there is no villain in a situation. This would be one of them.
  17. Haha, sure you're finished arguing with me. You're talking about a couple hundred dollars in a fairly stable coin market price-wise. We're talking about an item (IQD) that can appreciate to 1000x its value during shipping. Apples to oranges. Ali needs to turn a profit AND have enough money to replenish his supply, or else he goes out of business. If he sells a package for almost nothing compared to its worth, he's shooting himself in the foot as far as liquidity goes. But I don't expect you to understand that anyway, as it would conflict with your biased and closed world view. Once again, you have no clue. Continue to preach about greed like a fool. People agree to these terms when they order. It's not DTs fault if they don't read the disclaimer.
  18. DT Website: Plenty of time for them to simply cancel the transaction if they need to. Just because the order was placed does not mean it will be filled, unfortunately. Unless the money is instantly wired once you click that button, the purchase is not final.
  19. I honestly have no idea why it's so hard for you to understand a simple business concept. DT, and all other dinar dealers that I know of, have this very same policy for COD orders. Policies that the BUYER agrees to. With a COD order, FedEx acts as the proxy seller for DT. Therefore, they collect the money for DT. However, due to inherent time offsets in the shipping process, THEIR product may be worth more when it gets sold. In order to make sure THEIR product doesn't get sold for way below market value, they can recall it at any time. There is nothing ethically wrong with getting fair market value for YOUR product or service when payment is received. You have absolutely no clue about ethics. Please though, do keep insulting me from your high horse.
  20. They haven't PAID for it yet. If you wired DT the money (which is an option, BTW), then I'd be right on board with you. That, however, isn't the case. Until it is paid for, it is his property, free to do with it what he will. He is in the business to make a profit, not send people free money.
  21. It's not wrong at all. In fact, it's explained on his site. That's why it's done COD. You don't give him the cash until you see the goods, and he gets the going rate for the dinars when you receive them. Why would he sell a package worth millions for a couple thousand? It makes no sense.
  22. Bah, I was on your side until I saw the Dallas destination! New Yorker and big time Giants fan here! (j/k, I'm still on your side )
  23. How about you contribute something to the conversation, rather than just screaming about pumpers like a little baby. Enjoy the -.
  24. Yes, but it being COD, they can recall it at anytime since you haven't paid for it yet. All the dinar dealers do it that way.
