  1. In my opinion, one of the things that could happen just prior to and during the IQD revaluation is a media blackout.  To me, the media blackouts could be for the stated reasons, statements to divert attention from a covert activity, or test runs for the main event.  Different areas, different news medias, and different reasons may all be deployed to test system viability for future security reasons or for the main event we have been waiting for.  Any increase in frequency of media blackouts of various sorts, in my opinion, is a positive indicator that the IQD revaluation could be very near.

  2. Thank You, Yota, for this and all the other news articles you post!

The article states, "This file is a clause in the reform process, which the government in Baghdad led with US assistance, so take one of the US Federal units followed up immediately and is charged with investigating suspicious business deals and operations of oil smuggling and remittances dinars / USD, frequented in American arcades It thefts directly inside Iraq revealed by 20 percent of them and the rest outside, and totaled about $ 724 billion. And Baghdad are demanding the recovery of about 10 percent of those thefts, which is equivalent to $ 100 billion in order to provide the Iraqi public sector salaries and financial benefits derived therefrom, after negotiations conducted by the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi and his predecessor, Nouri al-Maliki in the United States."

The thefts due to suspicious business deals and operations of oil smuggling totaled about a whopping 724 billion USD!!!  Baghdad is demanding to recover about 10% of those debts or 100 billion USD?  If the money has been stolen, why not all of it?  I suspect a significant amount would be returned to the CBI and would elevate their reserve.  Returning most of the misappropriated funds would certainly aid in revaluing the IQD!

  3. Looks like more evidence to support Iraq is rocketing out of the Stone Age.  With all the modern Information Technology and management systems in place, looks like less opportunity for corruption and mismanagement of the "400 billion US dollars".  Pretty sure there will be plenty more projects that will increase the "400 billion US dollars" substantially once the investment opportunities get rolling!

    Go RV!

  4. Thank You, Wiljor, for the great article!

I wonder what impact an IQD revalue would have on Khanjar's influence.  If Iraqis (Sunnis included) feel they are nominally wealthy and can get most of what they want, will Khanjar still have the same influence and clout he does today?  Will his political issues matter as much if Sunnis have the same access to substantial improvement to the standard of living that other Iraqis will experience from the IQD revaluation?  I suspect the IQD RV will be for all the better!

Go RV and let's find out!

Always appreciate your positive posts Adam, the upbeat news as of late I'm sure has the DV crew excited and as we know Ramadan is once again upon us. I work with a Muslim as well and he has indicated to me that although fasting is part of his day during this time period he works as usual along with other followers around the world, it's business as usual. I'm sure that the GOI is working and getting things done and look forward to things moving forward :twothumbs:

Hats off to Yota and the news crew who keep us informed, RonScarpa with the CBI dollar sales, Freedomwish for keeping the drinks flowing, LaidBack for the go, go, go attitude and all the rest of you here in DV for being the awesome group you are:bravo:

Hey, Wiljor!  Multithumbsup to you, too!

Sandfly Adam and Mods for all you do... pardon me if I deviate a bit from Dinar news...but you forgot one very important piece of information...one of our own got his daughter back after she was missing for quite a while.  I don't know about y'all but family, IMO, is where the rubber meets the road!  So once again I am so impressed with how so many gathered around this terrible situation until it came to a safe conclusion early this week.  Keep our brother Texstorm and his family in your prayers as serious situations like this have a way a taking a while to iron out.  I'm pretty sure that is not what Adam had in mind when he started this site...but I for one am glad that it has evolved into much more than just an investment sight...it has developed into a place where we care about the investors not just the investment!  I for one am glad to have been introduced to such a great bunch of caring folks...and it truly has been a pleasure and an honor getting to know some of you wonderful Dinarians!!!

I agree, RodandStaff - very well said!

  6. Thank You, Adam, for your updates and straightforward assessments!

    :bump:   :twothumbs:   :tiphat:

In the past, I worked with a devout Muslim.  Ramadan start and finish is tied to the "moon sightings."  The moon needs to be at a certain phase and elevation in the sky at a specified time of the day for the start and finish of Ramadan.  As a result, the start day(s) and end day(s) could be different depending on where a Muslim lives on the planet.  Typically, Ramadan lasts 29 days and sometimes 30 days.  After Ramadan, there are special celebrations.  If the moon can not be sighted due to position in the sky or cloud cover in the area the Muslim lives, Ramadan is extended to the full 30 days, but no further.  If Ramadan starts (first day of fasting) this year on June 5, then the 29 days of fasting ends after sunset on July 3.  I suspect, depending on the beginning and ending "moon sighting(s)" and weather conditions, the last possible fasting day of Ramadan will be July 5.  There may be news from Iraq stating their official first day of fasting and then the potential end of Ramadan can be assessed.  Typically, my past Muslim coworker worked as usual during Ramadan with the only difference is he did not eat or drink liquids during the day light hours.

  7. The article states, "The strategic projects that more than 20 billion Danarvcetkon on-loan mechanisms be for repayment of the loan as follows: a / ten years for loan housing .. and five years for loans other except for a period of grace for a period of one year from the date for payment first to the student loan."

I can't imagine the money being available through loans with five or ten year pay backs without some sort of confidence that social, religious, and political turmoil will be substantially quelled and Iraq will ascend to a Sovereign State very soon.  For social stability, the people would likely need to be peaceably and profitably employed.  If there is confidence on the social, religious, and political stability, I suspect the economic profitability will be closely associated and, to me, is a positive indicator of the increase in value of the IQD in the very near term.

Really high interest rate 8% for any kind of loan, when people in Iraq have not purchasing power.

Loans from the IMF to Iraq is only 1.5%

Maybe the purchasing will increase in the near future

I agree with you Laid Back.  Usually, to get a loan to begin with, most folks need to be employed and have sufficient income to prove the loans can be paid back at the stated interest rate.  So looks like either the economic environment will improve significantly or they plan on writing the loans off?  Probably looking good for a significant increase in purchasing power in the near future!

Exactly, Siberian_Shadow.  Pretty sure the scammers are out in force and would love to part the Iraqi dinars from the people who call to "exchange."  Looks like the only exchange is the Iraqi dinars going from the hands of the purchaser/holder to the hands of the scammer.

  10. Interesting statement from an Iraqi on Iranian state sponsored terrorism.  Hopefully, this Iraqi is speaking for much more than himself and is supported by the Iraqi people and Iraqi governing bodies.  Iranian Qud forces and Solemeni expulsion should support Iraqi Sovereignty and support Iraq's progression to a stable and modern state.  I am interested to see what level and degree is international support Iraq will receive for Iranian expulsion from Iraq.

"that the agreement provides for the training of staff in the banking sector in Iraq on the technology used in the banking business in accordance with international Calibrator, and the administrative structure in place in the global systems."

Again here we see a quote from Yota's article above describing Iraq in the international arena.

DV, I believe Iraq is getting ready to go international :cigar:

What, too, caught my eye from, "The executive director of the Association of Iraqi private banks, Mr. "Tariq" in a statement singled out the "Economy News" that the agreement provides for the training of staff in the banking sector in Iraq on the technology used in the banking business in accordance with international Calibrator, and the administrative structure in place in the global systems."

is "In accordance with international Calibrator"? and "In place in the global systems"?

I agree with you, Wiljor - I, too, believe Iraq is going International soon!

I am hoping the IQD is "Calibrated" to (much) less than 10 IQD = 1 USD (i.e. takes far fewer IQD to equal a USD)!

Although it looks rather gloomy, rest assured that all our UST officers and accountants there in Baghdad are tracking, trailing and uncovering the whereabouts of these stolen funds and most of it will be repatriated.

I really agree with you, TennesseeCherokee.  In my opinion, the location and retrieval of a significant sum of the stolen funds returning to Iraq is one of the key items I am looking for to be announced/starting to happen before the IQD revalue is announced. Months ago, many countries pledged their assistance to make the return of stolen funds happen so I think the return of stolen funds to Iraq is sooner on the horizon.  If, for example, a small portion of the stolen funds (nominally 20 billion USD - likely, no one publically knows the total but there was an estimate of 500+ billion USD) is returned to Iraq, Iraq could pay off all or a significant portion of it's foreign debt.  I suspect the ratings from Standard & Poors, Moody's, and Fitch will then rocket through the roof.  Also, Iraq liquidity issues will likely resolve pretty quick, too.

I suspect the international articles pertaining to entities similar to Una Oil and Mossack Fonseca will bear out consequences to those who knowing participated in knowingly smuggling funds out of Iraq.

  13. Maybe it is just me but none of the numbers seem to make sense.  Oil $76.44 this past Friday?  Oil $86.37 in April?  Oil $65.34 in March?  Oil end of last week $03.43?

Oh, I get it, the last number is it!!!!

1 IQD = 03.43 USD with projections to double digits (that is why the zero is in front of the three)!!!!!

Well, OK, just having a little fun here.  Most of the numbers really don't make sense, though.
