  1. The first article states, "According to a statement of the Islamic Party received by all of Iraq [where] a copy of it on Tuesday that " the Iraqi Islamic Party congratulates the Deputy Secretary - General and Parliament Speaker Salim al - Jubouri, on the occasion of the judiciary 's decision cleared of the false charges that were attributed to him by Defense Minister Khaled al - Obeidi , " asserting that " The decision to release him and the closure of the case against him a new pride of our leaders and the people of our party certification, the evidence is overwhelming that the right curriculum will remain is the victor regardless of the machinations range." In my opinion, this is extremely good new for al-Jubouri to be cleared of the charges raised by al-Obeidi so the corruption issues can continue to be addressed without the rightfully questioned parties throwing a monkey wrench in the gear works of parliamentary and government clean up and progress. Hopefully, the al-Obeidi type tactics will no longer be utilized. I suspect the "pride of our new leaders" will cause the people to raise objections to the al-Obeidi type tactics. May be the remaining obstacles are being removed so progress to what we are looking for will pick up speed.
  2. I agree with you, CaptL1. The article states, "The current US administration wants to enter the elections without political problems in Iraq,...." What would the 2016 US Presidential election have to do with "Iraq Political Problems" unless one (or more) of the US Presidental Candidates would somehow be linked to the "Iraq Political Problems" by opening more corruption files? Seems to me the corruption files just started to be opened and now this SNAFU (Situation Normal All Fouled Up)?
  3. The article headline reads, "WhiteTiger 18 Aug 2016 TNT:" Looks like the date is mixed up - like the rest of the article. Maybe a local bakery was advertising free donuts and accidentally input the WF address. Maybe a bank officer heard about all the people at the WF branch and was telling (gingerly) all the folks somebody made an honest mistake on the advertised free donut address. If they come back during normal business hours they will get free coffee - but no free donuts.
  4. I agree with you, TenneseeCherokee. In my opinion, how could the average Iraqi citizen get a loan of 50 million IQD (nominally $50,000) if they do not have sufficient income (nominally $5,000 per year)? I was thinking the loan rollout was timed with the Iraqi citizen getting a substantial fixed income to service the loan. http://www.tradingeconomics.com/iraq/gdp-per-capita In my opinion, the loan rollout is contingent upon the HCL implementation, the Iraqi citizen has access to the banking system, and the banking system is all electronic connected to the international banking system utilizing international standards.
  5. Looks like ISIS is imploding. Maybe the retaking of Mosul will be bloodless - except for the internal ISIS attrition. Better for us and our troops. No US (or coalition) service person is worth falling in this eradication.
  6. Yeah, the restless natives with their rattling Sabres just may be our best friends. Hopefully they will sell the "conquering" Sabres to us when we arrive with our investment money and not have malicious intent. I agree with you TennesseeCherokee and DoD.
  7. ......and into the mystic portal/water slide....... At least their dinar (dong or whatever) they turn over at the exchange. Be careful, folks, the scammers will be out in full force based on this type of "exchange" or "groups" propaganda.
  8. I wonder if this crossing is, or in close proximity to, the previously advertised Silk (Rail)Road route. If so, I suspect Iraqi economic progress will really pick up steam soon. Wooo Wooo!
  9. Hopefully, the voice of reason, here, will prevail. Anyone can bring up accusations, true or false, when being questioned for corruption. There would seem to need to be actual fact and constitutional precedent to limit al-Jubouri's duties or remove him - but not on hearsay only. If exonerated, I suspect the identification, indictment, and prosecution of the corrupt will pick up speed and al-Jubouri will be nearly bullet proof (figuratively). Unfortunately, if exonerated, al-Jubouri may face assassination attempts by the corrupt. I am hopeful the attempts on his life will be thwarted and the perpetrators brought to quick justice.
  10. I am with you Candy01. I suspect many will never know this side of eternity. Those little people are so precious. I am thinking Maliki's day of reckoning could begin here on earth - soon! In my opinion, Maliki will become more of a liability to those he served and may be tied off with all his deeds. I am a little surprised he is being gone after by Iraq. I would have thought he would have to stand trial before an international tribunal for his heinous crimes against humanity. However, this may be the first act in the show.
  11. This is extremely good news, in my opinion. Maliki indicted and convicted on corruption will hopefully end his political career - and ties. His friends will likely be far fewer and the remaining out of reach. I would really like to see Maliki's travel suspended and his accounts frozen. Can't wait to see how this turns out!
  12. I agree with you, ChuckFinley. Great summary, Thanks!
  13. The last article states at the end, "Zayer also called for the replacement of the local currency because there are a lot of Iraqi currency, especially the category of 25 thousand dinars had been smuggled across the border and therefore become necessary to replace them to ensure Autea dealers and thus subjecting them to the new standards." Hey, maybe the "subjecting them to the new standards" like go RV and edinar already will solve the problem - especially for us!!!
  14. Thank You, Candy01. With all the good news coming out of Iraq lately and being posted here, it is hard to keep all the details straight!
  15. Thank You, BooserBGlee. Like a lot of others here at DV, I am getting more and more optimistic about this investment with all the great news articles posted lately!
  16. The article states, "Saleh added that «capital and reserves of sound relative to the assets in the budget amounting to only 2 percent, and coincide with the global context in terms of shape and look as if our banks live current modern globalization. The private banks, are still living conditions of the 19th century." And "He pointed out that «the problem is that the government borrows from the money because there is no true system shows the direction of government money flows and their uses»." And "He spoke in favor of good governance to separate ownership from management and the application of accountability and transparency, and «this can not be easily achieved because the work is a sound mechanism, led to disable the boards of directors due to the intervention of ministries in the work of banks»." And "He explained that «there is suspicion and doubts about the government banks, and therefore should not implicate the new administrations of these problems must stop work pending the audit of a global company», adding that «77 percent of the local currency outside the banking system, and this represents the death of the banking system certification Iraqi because the rest is a government deposits. » Zayer and stressed that «the fight against corruption starts from the local currency to enter the banking system», calling for «e-dinar issued by Rasheed Bank and the Rafidain only and government levies, it will help us to achieve a great leap in banking policy»." I had the feeling the banking system in Iraq was still in the stone age (19th century or 1800s) and was a major reason the funds went missing at the hands of the corrupt. Looks like the drive for auditing, getting the citizens to deposit their dinar in the banks, and going to edinar will rocket Iraq out of these problems and substantially change the face of banking so the funds can no longer go missing at the hands of the ministries. Accomplishing this feat looks like it is on the books and being implemented as we watch. If successful as stated, this could be a substantial piece to what we are looking for with regard to the RI/RV. Looks good to me!
  17. I am with you there if we do not have any significant parliamentary or reforms hiccups like the first half of 2016. I suspect, soon, we could all wake up to the big surprise we have been waiting for but the Ernest & Young 125 day clock would indicate the end of December or early January would be more likely. One scenario I've been pondering is the folks that actually control the implementation of the RI and/or RV would have it happen sooner than expected to "short" those down the food chain somewhat who are trying to take advantage of the RI and/or RV with undue advantage but not at the very bottom where the Iraqi citizen or currency speculator is. No, I am not a dinar pumper, just weighing how this will go down. The "Ernest & Young 125 days" could be a "implementation" and "monitoring/control" schedule. So, in my opinion, the RI and/or RV could happen fairly soon. The latest chat/article above states, "Iraqi Central Bank revealed on Monday, all give him the government banks until next September, to adapt itself to electronic systems and transactions, while among the beneficiaries and users proportion of those dealings in Iraq," Well, OK, they may mean by the end of September 2016. This appears to be a very compressed schedule - with all the banks with electronic systems and transactions a way to eliminate future corruption? Either all the ducks are lined up and the remaining connectivity/testing needs to be completed or this is an insurmountable achievement. I suspect the ducks are lined up a little more than I can perceive from the articles and is more likely a reality. All good news for flipping the RI/RV switch! Thank You, DinarThug, for all the articles you bring over!
  18. The last article states, "Speaker of Parliament said that "as spoken of by-Obeidi today to try to undermine his presidency and the council and its members", pledging to "respect the results that will lead the investigation into the allegations of the defense minister and adoption."" Salim al-Jubouri, Haider al-Abadi, and (possibly) Fuad Mussam appear to be Iraqi patriots and I applaud them. Whenever going after corruption, the corrupt appear to use false counter measures to deter the investigation of the corrupt. Looks like al-Jubouri is staying the course and, for that, I applaud him. There are likely more than one major corrupt characters in Iraq (more than just Maliki) that function somewhat autonomously but may act conjunctively on common interests (like to save their hides from the full extent of the law). No matter, I think it is a matter of time (hopefully very short) where the major corrupt characters are brought to light, indicted, prosecuted, and have justice served upon them. I suspect al-Jabouri, al-Abadi, and Mussam are allowing the mechanisms of the constitution and laws play out to weed out the significantly corrupt characters. I think it a very wise move for al-Jubouri to call a parliamentary committee to investigate these charges against him (al-Jubouri). I hope the allegations are not true. After a time or two, the corrupt can no longer use counter measures to through the attention off of their corrupt deeds being brought to light. In reading these articles, I get the feeling Maliki somehow has a dog in the fight and is stirring up the pot in accord with Obeidi. No worries, as the pot is stirred, the floaters will rise to be skimmed off and the sinkers will sink to be dredged out. A stinky mess but somebody(ies) have to clean things up. Go al-Jubouri, Go al-Abadi, Go Mussam, Go Justice! I really agree with you TennesseeCherokee. The dominoes are falling. Also, there have been articles that seem to suggest foreign investors are lining up to get into Iraq. I agree, once corruption is significantly reduced to a nominally minimal level, foreign investment will really start flowing into Iraq.
  19. GM Yota and Wiljor! Hopefully, "Iraq 's accession to the maritime transport and law amending the Companies Act agreement" isn't anything like the "ships at sea" Okie used to refer to. Don't want those maritime transport ships to sink................or stink???!!!
  20. I really agree with you, Wiljor. I, too, think, this (if true) would set things back a bit. I'm hoping somehow Maliki gets exposed in all this.
  21. Thank you for the follow up, Yota. What caught my eye from the article you referenced is, "which is now ready to resume the political differences called for a halt in those areas of military operations." It looked like issues external to the Mosul administration department make up were used to stall in the article referenced whereas Barzani was using the Mosul administration department issue to stall the retaking of Mosul. In my opinion, ISIS is ISIS and needs to be taken out so that the people will not suffer any longer under their rule. The other issues stalling the retaking of Mosul appear to be political wrangling - at the expense of the people suffering under ISIS.
