  1. I noticed, too, www.xe.com IQD vs. USD has been slowly declining and was at 1158 IQD = 1 USD. At this rate, 1 million IQD is equivalent to 863.56 USD. The article stated 128,500 IQD for 100 USD so 1 million IQD is equivalent to 778.21 USD. My opinion, there has been no significant IQD/USD exchange rate change in Iraq, yet. Indicators suggest this could change, possibly in the near future, as has been shown in recent articles. There have been multiple IQD/USD exchange rates in and out of Iraq. In my opinion, this is one of the reasons for the ultra modern banking system being put in place in Iraq with the most up to date international banking protocols. Once in place, the exchange rate in Iraq will be singular and all the other world wide systems would have to input/output the appropriate exchange rates on parity with the new Iraqi banking system for the IQD.
  2. The second to last article states, "The trading source said final details on how to split the Kirkuk flows could be worked out by mid-September." If the article was referring to mid-September of 2016, this is a significantly short term (relatively speaking) for Iraq to do anything specific. From the article, looks hopeful the entire revenue sharing agreement could be put in place by year end. I thought it interesting mid-September was mentioned because that is the time when the parliament will reconvene after their feast. Maybe, just maybe, the event we have been looking for will, indeed, occur in September 2016!
  3. Yep. I like your word "inevitable" Wilgor! Looks like more Maliki jibber jabber and antics on the way - for now. I suspect it will be over for Maliki as the HCL agreement, the ultra modern banking system(s), and the international protocol(s) are put in place while the other bad actors are likely going to be removed soon - especially from the CBI. There will no longer be a way for Maliki to pilfer or control. All his funds in international accounts may already be identified and, possibly, are being frozen for return to Iraq.
  4. If Kurdistan produced 550,000 barrels a day equaling 16.5 million barrels a month and handed all the oil over to Baghdad, crude oil would need to reach $61/barrel for Baghdad to give Kurdistan 1,000,000,000 USD a month without generating a deficit for Baghdad. At 8:38 am CDT, crude oil is $44.02/barrel. Today, this deal would present a significant budget deficit for Baghdad. Maybe this is one of the reasons Baghdad is interested in limiting production with other OPEC members to raise crude oil prices. Several weeks ago, there were predictions the crude oil price would reach nominally $60/barrel by the end of the year. Here is the link to the anticipated crude oil price post.
  5. Looks like the pilfering big fish are beginning to fry. Also, looks like pilfering whale blubber is on the menu next. The fish or cut bait stage is pretty much over.
  6. The article states, "president of a coalition of state law , Nuri al - Maliki said that "there are those who planned the events of a political coup bring Iraq back to the time of the dictatorship."" I do not recall any articles stating there are elements in Iraq wanting to use a political coup to install a dictatorship. In fact, it appears the opposite where democratic reforms have been and are implemented. In my opinion, it looks like Nuri al-Maliki is desperately trying to have new elections to bribe election officials and corrupt candidates. Nuri al-Maliki wants to bribe so he can again be Prime Minister. Once elected, Nuri al-Maliki thinks he can execute Martial Law to become the dictator once he is in office to absolve himself of any prior or future wrong doing or corruption. In my opinion, this looks like a desperate ploy by a desperate man. Looks like Nuri al-Maliki's days are numbered since his party unanimously voted in the Amnesty Law - much to Nuri al-Maliki's chagrin - showing Nuri al-Maliki's corrupt influence over the people is alarmingly (according to Nuri al-Maliki) low.
  7. Thank You, Adam, for the straight and to the point post. My opinion, your matter of fact and straight to the point comments and responses is refreshing and is indicative of the positive outlook based on your sources for the event - likely on the very near (in relative terms) horizon! This may seem like a broken record having been stated by many other fine DV Dinarians in the past but, really, a big heartfelt Thank You to You, the DV administrators, DV moderators, and your sources for providing solid and secure post event resources and services for DV participants to use post event!
  8. The first article states, "She explained that," whenever we have questioned a minister in parliament , we were told that the Americans were interfering behind the scenes to put pressure on the heads of political blocs in order to prevent the completion of the interrogation, "Mrdvh" where the alleged their democracy, eight Americans long ago announced their list of muggers who ransacked the bounties of Iraq , why they should prevent us from muggers accounting and why their mentors. "" This could get interesting. 6,455,000,000 USD is usually not chump change for most folks. Likely a lot more and for different persons has flighted from Iraq since 2003. Nassif said some implicating things here for Americans interfering behind the scenes and especially the eight Americans from long ago who ransacked the bounties of Iraq (maybe mentoring them, too?). These statements single out a lot of key folks. Who are they? I suspect these folks know the statements Nassif made (or is she being framed with them?) and I suspect somebody(ies) may be finding themselves enjoying a dirt nap soon to keep from being exposed. We may see more interesting related news, soon. I hope the innocents and the ones who are appropriately applying justice are not adversely impacted.
  9. Nope, I'm not offended CL21. Still more ISIS trash to be taken out - even in North America, Europe, and Australia since the article states Al-Adnani as stating, " He said ISIS supporters in the West had a religious duty to launch lone-wolf attacks. Analysts have said that was a game changer and may have inspired attacks in North America, Europe and Australia. He was the mouthpiece of ISIS. He said things like, 'If you can't shoot them, then stab them, and if you can't stab them, then crush their heads with rocks. If you can't do that then drive your cars, your vehicles, to kill them," " Robertson said. Thank You for posting!
  10. The third to last posted article states, "said the Iraqi Central Bank, on Monday, mechanism of selling foreign currency window, indicating the development of Ajraeth this regard by encouraging banks to adopt the mechanism of opening letters of credit for the purposes of import, as well as the preparation and application of standards for the electronic system for window sale and purchase of foreign currency." The second to last posted article states, "He said the Iraqi Central Bank, that "the development of a fundamental criterion for the implementation of dollar selling operations to banks include the extent of its commitment to the rules to combat money laundering and financing of terrorism," referring to "the adoption of the preparation and application of standards for the electronic system for window sale and purchase of foreign currency (money orders), and a greater role for government banks for buying and selling the dollar and the development and verification sources of funds used for the purposes of buying the dollar from the sale of foreign currency window. " The national coalition led by Iyad Allawi confirmed on Monday (22 August 2016), the dollar exchange rate in the domestic market management is a "window of thieves and corrupt", and pointed out that the currency anywhere auction "for wasting money and leaking Iraqi balance across the mafias money laundering" , and he expressed concern regarding the determination to continue the auction currency policy despite the warnings and recommendations of experts, called for the inclusion of the Central Bank reforms approved by the House of Representatives." Looks like the ultra modern banking system referred to in other articles is being put in place. Looks like when that happens, the money laundering, financing of terrorism, and pilfering will stop with the flip of a switch (figuratively). Looks like they will electronically track the fund sources (maybe also the fund dispositions).
  11. The last article ends with, "For the purpose of unifying the management of border crossings and to ensure the proper application of laws and regulations governing the work of government departments so as to ensure the smooth flow of work and the achievement of the entry of people and goods and to raise the level of service and show where the border crossing points in the proper manner as interface Iraq." In my opinion, this is another measure (law) that demonstrates Iraq's national sovereignty in an organized and sustainable manner for the ingress and egress of goods and people. I suspect this law will aid in tariffs to be collected by Iraq for foreign goods brought into the country. The tariffs should provide a significant income for Iraq, too.
  12. The last article ends with, "eliminate the glut promised adoption price of $ 35 a barrel in the budget of 2017 the good price that the prices range from $ 40-45, calling at the same time , the new oil minister to the need to campaign ties aimed at persuading oil - producing countries to cut production by 7 percent to eliminate the glut of existing which would raise prices to around $ 80 a barrel during the short period of time." Hmmm.................... May be something to watch. If there is a nominal reduction in the oil production agreements, there may be a significant increase in oil price. Maybe a trigger for the event we have been waiting for to include the funding of the HCL?
  13. Thank You, DiveMaster5734, for the article. It is hard to imagine some one would put their own well being above the dire demise of their fellow man.
  14. The article may be implying 24 million barrels per month or nominally 800,000 barrels per day. 12 million barrels is about 400,000 barrels per day. If I remember right, output was as high as 550,000 barrel per day in the past or nominally 16.5 million barrels per month.
  15. The last article states at the end, "" today the local government of Basra , a meeting with the new World Bank Director is part of the decentralization policy adopted by the federal government in a move to complete projects faster by pointing out that Basra is one of the first provinces where the policy applies. " said Abu barns" the government did not put any conditions the right of Iraq 's obligations with the Central Bank , but has set conditions on itself, and those conditions is the need to handle the highest degree of transparency and professionalism . "" Looks like decentralization is starting to be implemented as well as anti corruption measures put in place. Smokin' good news is all I got to say!
  16. A couple items regarding the value of the IQD currency in the near term that come to mind are the highly sophisticated (likely most advanced on the world scale) Iraqi banking system put in place that is nominally 98% complete and the highly sophisticated anti counterfeiting features (likely most advanced on the world scale) of the newer issued IQD bills and those likely to be issued soon. For an exchange rate nominally 1 IQD = 1/10 of a US cent? Hmmm........ Something doesn't seem right here. In my opinion (worth about 1/100 of on a global scale), there is no way a country with a prehistoric/stone age banking system would put so much effort into the banking and currency if they were planning on maintaining a currency value of nominally 1 IQD = 1/10th of a US cent. The ultra advanced banking system will likely reduce the banking system corruption to nearly nil. The past stone age banking system promoted a banking system rife with corruption like we hear about and see today. When the switch is fully flipped on the ultra advanced banking system, the crooks' money will dry up immediately.
  17. The first article stated, "Domestic issuance remains the main funding source for the 2016 government financing requirement. We expect most of the debt will be taken up by Iraq's commercial banks, led by the two largest: Raffidain Bank and Rashid Bank. We anticipate that the banks will fund these purchases by incremental deposit growth and by repurchase operations with the Central Bank of Iraq (CBI). In addition, the government has indicated its intention for a possible $2 billion Eurobond offering. We project that general government debt will average 87% of GDP in 2016-2019, up from about 34% of GDP in 2014. Our net general government debt average for the forecast period includes 20% of GDP of fiscal assets, which are mostly deposited with domestic commercial banks. Iraq's debt stock has benefited from an 80% haircut that the government negotiated with its Paris Club creditors in 2003-2004." Where in the world are the commercial banks (Raffidain and Rashid) going to get the "incremental deposit growth" so they can take up the debt? The Iraqi citizens or external depositors or both? Looks like there is a really good and fairly safe plan to be, or is being, executed or somebody(ies) are really cooking the books. Looks like some folks were confident way back in the 2003-2004 timeframe to haircut Iraq's debt by (what I consider) a whopping 80%! The $2 billion Eurobond offering may be needed in certain sectors to really pull this off. Say 6,5 trillion was pulled of the street by Iraqi citizens putting the money in the Iraqi commercial banks. That would be a huge shot in the arm for Iraq to jump start it's economy.
  18. I agree, ChinaDawg. Usually it is only the evil that shoot their own.
  19. Thank You, MyLilPony, for the back ground and clarifying. I thought it interesting this parliamentary session was the most well attended parliamentary session I can remember in some time.
  20. Thank You, Yota, for all the great articles! Looks like a higher turn out than normal with the Parliament starting out at 234 parliamentarians. After the Amnesty Law was passed (huge milestone!), looks like the parliament swells to 245 parliamentarians when the vote of no confidence came up for al-Obeidi then to 253 parliamentarians and then to 262 parliamentarians. If I understand correctly, there are 338 seats in parliament. I wonder if the passing of the Amnesty Law and the al-Obeidi no confidence is related with, possibly, al-Obeidi being a strong arm, willing participant, and key component in the Maliki intimidation machine while a significant portion of the parliamentarians were impacted by and inhibited from attending normal parliamentary sessions to get the necessary laws passed to rectify terrorism, corruption, and pilfering/mismanagement of Iraqi resources. Possibly, with the Maliki intimidation machine disassembled, the parliament will be attended with all the possible parliamentarians regularly and the rest of the necessary laws will get enacted expediently.
  21. I think there likely will be some (or even a lot of) misinformation/disinformation just before a planned and major event in Iraq - like the IQD revaluation. There may have been others who have mentioned this in the past. Here is a post where I mentioned this as a possibility. The only thing I know to do is to watch for subsequent Iraqi news articles to corroborate or somewhat mitigate what was reported earlier. Kinda like al-Baghdadi being killed in an air strike - just have to wait out the articles to see what really happened. My opinion, I can't imagine the IQD revaluing without some form of distraction.
  22. Quite possibly - Isaiah 14:9-15 New International Version (NIV) 9 The realm of the dead below is all astir to meet you at your coming; it rouses the spirits of the departed to greet you— all those who were leaders in the world; it makes them rise from their thrones— all those who were kings over the nations. 10 They will all respond, they will say to you, “You also have become weak, as we are; you have become like us.” 11 All your pomp has been brought down to the grave, along with the noise of your harps; maggots are spread out beneath you and worms cover you. 12 How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon.[a] 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” 15 But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit. Footnotes: Isaiah 14:13 Or of the north; Zaphon was the most sacred mountain of the Canaanites. Ezekiel 28:11-19 New International Version (NIV) 11 The word of the Lord came to me: 12 “Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “‘You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: carnelian, chrysolite and emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis lazuli, turquoise and beryl.[a] Your settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were prepared. 14 You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you. You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. 15 You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was found in you. 16 Through your widespread trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the mount of God, and I expelled you, guardian cherub, from among the fiery stones. 17 Your heart became proud on account of your beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth; I made a spectacle of you before kings. 18 By your many sins and dishonest trade you have desecrated your sanctuaries. So I made a fire come out from you, and it consumed you, and I reduced you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching. 19 All the nations who knew you are appalled at you; you have come to a horrible end and will be no more.’” Footnotes: Ezekiel 28:13 The precise identification of some of these precious stones is uncertain. Ezekiel 28:13 The meaning of the Hebrew for this phrase is uncertain. Revelation 19:19-21 New International Version (NIV) 19 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. 20 But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21 The rest were killed with the sword coming out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh. Revelation 20:10 New International Version (NIV) 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
